I thoroughly enjoyed eating at Prego. All of that lovely Italian food was worth the wait and worth the trip to the City of Dreams. Salad and Appetizers1) Insalata alla Cesare ₱450Romaine greens in Italian Caesar dressing topped with pancetta and croutonsThe fresh, crisp greens are countered by the salty pancetta and the long shavings of Parmesan cheese. The addition of crunchy croutons help round out the salad, thanks to the slight hint of butter and garlic in the bread. 2) Gran Misto di Antipasti Mare ₱890Assorted seafood appetizersShrimp, salmon, and sliced octopus all on a plate. Love the fish, but those not used to octopus might find it better to squeeze some lemon juice over it to give it an extra kick. 3) Gran Misto di Antipasti Terra ₱990Assorted Italian meat and vegetable appetizersSausages, cured and smoked hams, and all manner of Italian charcuterie are ripe for the taking. The strong flavors of the neat are perfect when paired with the complimentary bread and butter or salsa. Pasta1) Spaghetti alla Carbonara ₱530Spaghetti with egg, Parmesan cheese, and pancettaThe classic creamy pasta dish that is balanced with the salty Parmesan and savory pancetta. Not too mild and not too overwhelming, either. 2) Tubetti all’ Amatriciana in Cestino di Parmigiano ₱550Short tube pasta with Guancile bacon in tomato sauce and served in a Parmesan cheese basketThis is a brand new kind of pasta for me. The rich, sour tomato sauce complements the bacon, and the basket made of fried Parmesan cheese shavings is an excellent addition. Move over, bread bowls! As a side note, I suggest waiting a bit so that the cheese basket absorbs the sauce and softens enough that it is easier to pick apart. Mains1) Filleto di Manzo con Fegato d’Oca in Salsa Tartufata con Spinaci e Asparagi ₱990 per every 100 gramsCertified Angus beef tenderloin with pan-fried foie gras in truffle sauce served with asparagus and fried spinachThis dish is especially notable in one thing: it made me actually like the taste of foie gras. That alone is astounding. It also helps that the juicy beef tenderloin is bursting with flavor from the sauce. The crunchy asparagus spears are a great addition to provide contrast in texture. 2) Bistecca Disossata alla Griglia con Spinaci ₱520 per 100 gramsAngus beef rib-eye with sautéed spinach and vegetablesI expected nothing less than juicy rib-eye and crunchy, earthy vegetables. I got what I wanted, and I am glad that it was worth the wait. Pizza1) Pizza Prego ₱590Pizza with spiced salami, anchovies, bleu cheese, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheeseI love my bleu cheese, so having its familiar aroma blend with the savory salami, and mild mozzarella is amazing. 2) Pizza Margherita ₱520Basil, oregano, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheeseThe classic pizza flavor. Despite all the different accounts of how it was first made, Prego made an impressive one that is both simple yet still packed with flavor. 3) Pizza con Burrata e Pachino ₱620Pizza with tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, and burrata cheeseThe addition of fresh cherry tomatoes adds a delightful sour pop with each bite before blending with the mild burrata bits. Desserts1) Panna Cotta al Miele Tartufo ₱420Italian cooked cream custard with truffled honey syrup and sweet balsamic vinegarThis panna cotta has a more gelatinous texture compared to usual cream. However, the familiar creamy flavor is present and the dessert is sweet overall. Surprisingly, the balsamic vinegar was not that obvious when I tasted the panna cotta. 2) Tiramisu ₱420Mascarpone cheesecakeAnother classic Italian dessert. The coffee and chocolate flavor contrasts with the sweet cream as well as the mascarpone cheese. The ladyfingers are also soft and creamy thanks to the milk and cream in the cheesecake. Overall, this is one of the best versions of tiramisu that I have tasted.

It's amazing how restaurants think of new, clever ways to lure customers in. It's all so common now. We see so many promos these days. There are unlimited offers, buy-one-take-ones, discounts and coupons, but one restaurant tops all of these off by simply offering the best service. . Prego is an Italian restaurant inside City of Dreams. Its name actually means "you're welcome" in Italian, which is probably the phrase they use so often during restaurant hours. We had some of their finest dishes from appetizers to desserts, and I can't help but fall in love with a bunch of it.

"What can I say except ‘you’re welcome’! For the antipasti, pizza and pasta…Hey it’s okay, there’s steak, and ‘you’re welcome’!It’s just an extra-ordinary tiramisu.”I know it’s a bad parody of Disney’s “You’re Welcome” in Moana, but Prego at the City of Dreams, which also means “you’re welcome” in Italian, makes these ridiculously good Italian dishes it was the first ditty that came to my head. We really ought to say ’thank you!’ to Prego for bringing consistently good food and service to its patrons.I came late for the antipasti (which I hear are really good) but the other dishes stand out on their own, as well as Prego’s service, which is done with a smile and a surprising efficiency. The Insalata alla Cesare (Caesar’s salad, P450) may look plain but the combination of fresh, crisp greens, salty pancetta, crispy croutons and shavings of real parmesan cheese make this a great starter to a great meal ahead. We tried two pastas, the Spaghetti alla Carbonara (P530) and Tubetti all Amatriciana in Cestino di Parmigiano (P550). The carbonara is made with freshly-made pasta, egg, parmesan cheese and pancetta is tasty, creamy but not overwhelming. The pancetta provides a nice salty punch across the cream. This is how carbonara should be, not with cream, flour and processed cheese and the difference in flavor is miles away. The tube pasta in tomato sauce and bacon (and served on a basket made of cheese!) is a nice, simple pasta with the fresh tomato sauce you know has been painstakingly slow-cooking for hours to get that thick, rich flavor, and real parmesan cheese. And of course bacon makes everything better. No Italian restaurant would be complete without pizza - and it should be the thin crust, bursting with flavor kind. We tried the Pizza Prego (P590), Pizza Margherita (P520) and Pizza con Burrata e Pachino (P620). Pizza Prego, with spiced salami, anchovies, bleu cheese, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese is wonderfully meaty and shows off why we love our classic pizza mix of tomato sauce, cheese and meat. The Pizza Margherita, with basil, oregano, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese is the most classic of pizza flavors and Prego’s version is choc-full of fresh ingredients and manages to be one of the best I’ve ever eaten. And while I prefer my burrata as a salad, the pizza is still a great version and the fresh cherry tomatoes lend that necessary tart and fresh taste that makes this pizza come more alive. And since I will travel anywhere for steak, I am glad I did go all the way from the northern part of the metro for Prego’s Filleto di Manzo con Fegato d’Oca in Salsa Tartufata con Spinaci e Asparagi (P990/100 g) and Bistecca Disossata alla Griglia con Spinaci (P520/100 g). The certified Angus beef tenderloin with pan-fried foie gras in truffle sauce (Filleto di Manzo con Fegato d’Oca) was simply divine, with the foie gras adding more fat, flavor and umami to the steak. The creamed spinach and sweet asparagus spears are the perfect side dishes to complement this meat. In the meantime, the Angus beef rib eye was medium done quite nicely and was juicy and flavorful in all the right ways. And no decent Italian restaurant succeeds without great dessert and Prego served us with two - Panna Cotta al Miele Tartufo (P420) and Tiramisu (P420). The Panna Cotta, which is this cooked cream custard with truffled honey syrup and sweet balsamic vinegar, is happily jiggly and creamy. The balsamic sauce is surprisingly a good compliment to the custard. The tiramisu, made from mascarpone cheese (not cream or cream cheese) is decadently rich, though it being frozen threw me a bit off. As it melted, it's all good.Overall a very satisfying meal and one that made me smile all throughout the day.

Prego comes to mind when I think of a first class dining experience - you know you are at a high end restaurant when you are treated very well with food and service. I could not be more satisfied when the service is on point regardless if it is a fancy or simple restaurant but of course, the food still is the bread and butter and decides whether people will come back or not, all the more, Prego embodies both. I checked the City of Dreams restaurants page and Prego, as an Italian restaurant and bar specializes in Tuscan cuisine which is characterized by having simple food and it is very true. Though Italian food, as we know it, is more than just pizza and spaghetti. It has a wide range of flavors, ingredients and dishes that are bold and satisfying without being heavy. So we had two of their appetizers. One from the Fish and Seafood Appetizers where we had the Gran Misto di Antipasti Mare. Fresh seafood platter of shrimps, mussels, salmon and octopus alongside with fresh veggies. Nice thinly sliced octopus meat with their special machine cutter and the curing of the salmon made it very tasty. Squeeze a hint of lemon on each gives them a good kick. Another hearty appetizer, Gran Misto di Antipasti Terra. An Italian cold cuts platter consisting of prosciutto, dried beef, mortadella and pepperoni with olives and veggies on the sides. We also had one of their salads and side dishes, Insalata alla Cesare. A mix of Romaine greens in an authentic Italian Caesar dressing, topped with pan-fried Italian pancetta, and croutons. I loved the pork belly mixed with the veggies and the dressing. The Pastas the we had were the following:1. Paccheri Salsicce e Funghi alla Boscaiola - Special pasta with fresh Italian sausage and mushrooms in a light tomato sauce2. Spaghetti alla Carbonara - Spaghetti with egg, parmesan and crispy pancetta sauce3. Tubetti alla Amatriciana in Cestino di Parmigiano - Short tube pasta with Guanciale bacon in tomato sauce served inside a crispy parmesan cheese basketThe pastas are superb but the second one would be my favorite. Simple but very delicious. The pancetta sauce enhanced the flavor of the pasta. Also a good job on the crispy parmesan cheese basket. The Pizzas that we had were the following:1. Pizza Prego - Their house pizza with spiced salami, anchovies, blue cheese, fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese2. Pizza Margherita - Basil, fresh oregano, fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese3. Pizza con Burrata e Pachino - Tomato, fresh cherry tomatoes and burrata cheeseI mean, these pizzas were just delectable. Put some chili peppers and hot sauce and they bring out the flavors in it. I like the traditional Pizza Margherita more. A slice would not be enough. For the Meat Main Course we had the following:1. Filleto di Manzo con Fegato d’Oca in Salsa Tartufata con Spinaci e Asparagi - A Certified Angus beef tenderloin with pan-fried foie gras in truffle sauce served with asparagus and fresh spinach2. Bistecca Disossata alla Griglia con Spinaci - Angus beef rib-eye with sautéed spinach and vegetablesThese steaks were so good and succulent. The fatty portion is a delight and the sides were perfect.A great meal would be so nice to have a good ending with these desserts. We had the Panna Cotta al Miele Tartufo - Italian cooked cream custard with truffled honey syrup and sweet balsamic vinegar. Their special version is smooth and soothing. A very pleasant surprise contrast of flavors. And lastly the Tiramisu or their famous Marscapone cheesecake. Their version is not the usual but is my favorite, slighty heavy and creamier.Overall, it was a very great dining experience. Kudos!

SinoPinas Eats Prego RistoranteDining at Prego Ristorante is one for the books. If you like first class service where you only have to chew your food since the staff even puts the table napkin on your lap, hands the dish to an arm’s reach, and refills your water when it’s still half full, this is the place to go.The restaurant is conveniently located at the second floor of City of Dreams. The interior is classy and you will be amazed at the aroma of cheese upon entry.Everything is delectable but my top pick is the Seafood platter which has raw salmon, shrimp, baby clams, and octopus without a hint of fishy smell or taste. It is garnished with greens, cherry tomatoes, and lemon slices (Gran Misto di Antipasti Mare, P890 for 2-3 pax). Apart from this, the panna cotta is to die for. The gelatinous cake topped with chocolate syrup and the surprisingly balsamic vinegar is heavenly sweet with a hint of the sour balsamic. It has walnuts and cherry on the side for a blend of textures (Panna Cotta al Miele Tartufo, P420 per slice).Next on my list of favorites is the cold cuts of meat as appetizer just like the seafood platter. It has five kinds of meat topped with greens and cherry tomatoes (Gran Misto di Antipasti Terra, P990 for 2-3 pax). When you dine on Italian cuisine, you'll definitely look for pizza and pasta. Among the pizza selections, my favorite is the Pizza con Buratta e Pachino. Their pizzas are all brick-oven-cooked and they're generous with cheese especially the buratta pizza. There is a tablespoon of buratta on every slice (P620 for a 14-inch pizza). Among the pasta selections, my favorite is the Tibetti all’ Amatriciana in Cestino di Parmigiano. This is a tomato-based pasta served in a parmesan cheese shell - creative and tasty (P550 for 1-2 pax). For the main course, the Angus beef tendorloin topped with foie gras is a must try. Both tenderloin and foie gras are tender and are oozing with natural meat juice plus it's served with soft-cooked vegetables such as spinach, asparagus, cauliflower, and carrots (Filetto di Manzo con Fegato d’oca in Salsa Tartufata con Spinaci e Asparagi, P990 for 100 grams, serves 1-2 pax).Fun dining with PigOutSundays Midz Sy Boyeatworldph

The Italian word "Prego" could have several meanings. It could mean "you're welcome" after someone says "Grazie" (Thank you) or to mean "Come in" or "Go ahead".But in the City of Dreams, Prego just means that you'll have a fabulous Italian meal with superlative table side service.Prego Ristorante delivers la-dolce-vita dishes.....Antipasti - Italian appetizersGran Misto di Antipasti Mare - appetizer seafood platter of gravlax, octopus carpaccio and a salad of mixed shrimp, squid and mussels.Gran Misto of antipasti terra - Italian cold cuts platter of prosciutto, dried beef, mortadella and pepperoni with olives.Primi - Italian first course:Tubetti all'Amatriciana in Cestino Parmigiano - tube pasta with guanciale (pork cheeks) bacon in a creamy tomato sauce served inside a Parmesan cheese basket.Spaghetti alla Carbonara - spaghetti with eggs, Parmesan and pancetta (Italian bacon).Paccheri Salsicce e funghi alla Bascaiola - tube pasta with mildly spicy Italian sausages and mushrooms in a tomato sauce. Secondi - Italian second course:Fillets di Manzo con fegato d'oca in salsa tartufata - cerified Angus tenderloin medallions topped seared foie gras served with truffle sauce.Bistecca Disossata alla Griglia - certified Angus Rib-eye steaks Pizza:Pizza con burrata e pachino - pizza with fresh cherry tomatoes and burrata cheese.Pizza Margherita - a classic with the triad of flavors of basil, tomatoes and mozzarella.Pizza Prego - a wonderful symphony of anchovies, blue cheese, salami and mozzarella. City of Dreams Manila is a citadel of some of the finest restaurants in the metro from Japanese,Korean,Taiwanese,Italian and the list goes on.And one of them is Prego an Italian fine restaurant so expect a grand dining experience from them. These are some of the impressive dishes that created imprints in my gastronomic memory, but every dish were appealing. The seafood antipasti- an assortment of fresh sea produce such as accurately thin sliced octopus, cured salmon and a mini salad of clams and shrimp.Nice texture and tenderness of the octopus and impressive curing of the salmon. They also served cold cuts which were also a delight.Paccheri Salsicce e funghi Alla Bascaioala-tubelike pasta in nice tomato sauce with mushrooms and spicy sausage. The hint of heat was delicious. Both the Angus ribeye and tenderloin steaks were succulent, nice juicy and tender cuts of beef.Love the rib eye because of the amount of fat in it,while the tenderloin dish was served with seared foi gras. Both wear served with very nice vegetables sides.Pizzas were all very delectable ,nice brick oven baked crusts, lovely sauce .Overall favorite is the Burrata cheese pizza.Desserts of Tiramisu and Pana Cotta were dainty finishers ,what caught my attention was the drizzled chocolate like syrup which happens to be balsamic vinegar which is a game changer for that dessert ,provided a tangy twist on the sweet dish, texturewise its more of a jello that became a novelty with jiggly properties.Service in this restaurant is flat out amazing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼.I also loved they gave us some coffee after a fantastic meal.

A sprawling 280 sq meter area awaits  when you go to Prego Ristorante Italiano at posh City of Dreams Manila.  Its main dining hall can accommodate 65  people, the alfresco about 20 and the alcove around 18 people at one time, per Mr. Kelvin  (Prego's Manager). It had an old world charm about it with its  handsome wood tables , dark wood furnishings, rich red cushioned seats on the main room and golden yellow printed cushioned seats in the private alcove and the former 360 degree bar...
