Bahay kubo kahit munti..hahaha well..it's not as tiny as you think. But, talk about home-cooked meals. We got to try Lola Idang's way back and was able to come back today. Ironically, this restaurant is supposed to have good pancit. Too bad we still didn't get to try the pancit. The interior is your typical local Filipino restaurant. Space is quite small when it gets crowded and parking space is limited. We ordered Binagoongan, Lumpiang Shanghai, and Sinigang na Salmon. The pork in the Binagoongan is tiny..really tiny. You can count the number of portions with one hand. Sad! Taste wise, it's really really good. Hope they can improve the portions. The Lumpiang Shanghai is tasty but some were overcooked (dark brown not just brown). Sinigang na Salmon was yummm. The soup was tasty and not too sour.Lola Idang's is a restaurant which serves good and affordable food. True home cooked meal at its best! :)

Bad service and the food wasn't great. Ordered their best sellers and still wasn't satisfied. The servers seemed like theyweren't happy to serve.

I just had my lunch here. And, even though I was already expecting what will happen (because there would be quite a few times I dined here), I just had enough!Kudos to the food! I have to give it to the cook, you really do cook good food, it's just that the serving is quite short for the price, but, I could consider that for the taste. However, here's the worst part. The service! The servers are the worst ones a restaurant could have! This is not the first time this happened but they just had my last straw! You could here them talking and babbling while you ask for a follow up for a glass of water or any other orders, they'd roll their eyes in front of you when you make a follow up, and this afternoon, we asked which would be better, the crispy chicken or the lechon kawali, and we got a response from the one who took our order with a straight face, saying it's all the same. How could that be possible? Chicken and Pork the same? Ugggh! Also, their toilet was so messy looked like someone just took a bath and forgot to wipe the flooded floor. There wasn't any tissue, nor dipper. Worse is, the flush isn't working. And you know what's worst? It's me reminding them how the toilet looked like and how the toilet was clogged, for them to do something about it (mind you, I did say these in a very polite and not offensive manner, which believe me, is very hard to do with their attitudes), and having a blank stair as a response, and afterwards rolling eyes out in front of me and shouting another colleague's name to inform how the toilet was. Is that customer service? My God!!! And, it doesn't end there! When you ask for the bill, it would take ages to get to you, and this did not happen to me just once, more often than not actually. And when you ask for a follow up regarding the bill, they would just shout at the cashier asking for the bill to be processed. Is that polite? But once you, yourself would go to the cashier to ask for it, they'd give it to you at once. So how was that possible? It's just so irritating! I'd like to ask who the owner is and for the management to do something about this, and believe me, I'm not the only one who had an experience like this, some even worse.

I love their palabok and sinigang. This is the place to be if you want an authentic pinoy lutong bahay. Servers are always smiling and service is prompt. You may also want to try their kare-kare super yummy. Do not forget to ask for additional bagoong they would be glad to give you some.

Great Filipino food in the neighbourhood. And prompt kitchen service, because Mostly I order for pick up when I'm visiting my relatives and when they say it's ready for a particular time, it's really ready by the time I swing by (Some places I order from for pick up usually make me wait for 15-20 minutes which is a big bother). I can't say the same with the servers - they are not snappy - either in their movements or in speaking / taking orders, in bringing water or the bill. Crispy Pata, Kare-Kare, Pancit Malabon, Pancit Bihon, are the the dishes that are really good, even for take aways. If you dine in, try their Daing na Bangus, Tokwa't Baboy, and my favourite drink - sago't gulaman!!! Okey, maybe I'm very partial, my sister said it is too sweet, but that's precisely the draw of sago't gulaman, not to mention that back in uni days, I had been gulping that stuff because the tapioca was very filling and the sugar was really a booster :) so getting it from this place brought back good memories :)If you plan to dine in you either park in the nearby Catholic church side or at the street perpendicular to this location, because this place is just right by the busy street of Armstrong, and you'd be impeding the flow of the traffic.
