Surprisingly good! We thought it was just a fast-foody kind of Jap resto buuutbwe were wrong! Reasonably priced, good serving sizes and best of all, good food! Hubby was very happy with his Gyu Hireniku. While the rest of us enjoyed the Chicken Yakitori, bacon asparagus, salmon sashimi and california maki roll. Will definitely come back!☺️

Japanese food is pretty commercialized nowadays with some of the worst restos offering only fried oily food. Kimono ken has a nice all around japanese restaurant menu with a variety of dishes for a group's varied tastes.

Not on this review's photos but posted elsewhere (blogph.net), we've also sampled the gyoza and salmon with teriyaki sauce along with the sushi and sashimi. While all dishes were definitely delicious and pricing is okay, the serving size can do more.

My granny and I was looking for a place to eat. I asked her if she wants to try something new since she eats more of Filipino cuisine. I told her that we'll eat in a Japanese restaurant. I ordered tamago soup and Chicken Terriyaki Yakimono for her while I had Gyudon and California Maki. She loved how tasty the tamago soup is and how tender and delish the chicken terriyaki is. She was glad it was tender since she have a hard time chewing hard food at her age. On the other hand, nothing special with their Gyudon... it tastes like any other Gyudon I tried with other Jap resto. What made my Kimono Ken experience better is their Green Tea Jelly! It was a total bomb and a perfect meal ender! Green tea ice cream + oreo bits was perfect! It was so yummy! Although, I'm not a fan of any kind of jelly, all in all it was okay!Food- 4/5Service- 5/5 ; please take note they have a save water policy. They'll not refill your glass of water if you don't request for. Ambiance- 5/5

This is our go to place in SM BF for a quick reliable Japanese meal. I recently tried out their OmuRice - i'm not sure if this is new, but it was my first time seeing it on their menu.I had childhood memories back in the late 90's watching Oh Tokyo! (Anyone else remember this!) when resident host Ellen Nishiumi eats, travel her way around Tokyo and i fondly remember her eating OmuRice! She is quick honest in her food reviews. She describes it as simply being a combination of tomato ketchup, rice and chicken eveloped in a fluffy scrambled egg! Although she was not highly enthusiastic about it i was taken by the look and feel of that particular episode! Seeing it on their menu I had to try it! And i have to admit it was nothing more than ketchup, rice, generously added with button mushrooms and chicken... but i absolutely LOVE it! I was in Oh Tokyo Heaven! I hope they have reruns soon. Paired it with Kani Tempura and their Kimono Ken Special drink.Service is quick and always friendly. A must visit when in the South. They have branches in Shangrila Plaza Mall and Rockwell too!
