I love the food here! I'm not the biggest fan of Filipino food, but this place made me love it so much. Can't wait to eat here again, the food really has a distinct try on Filipino cuisine. I recommend you all to go here and have a new and unique experience

I don't usually post reviews but this one is an exemption in my book! The food here was served rather pleasantly with the great taste of everyone's favorite selection of familiar comfort food for all people, both local and foreign taste buds will crave for more and more of the delight that 1989 bistro serves!

I have been to a great many restaurants, but I must say that, If I could only go to 1 filipino restaurant forever, I'd choose the 1898 bistro, why? 1898 Bistro has a combination of one of the most explosive taste when it comes to homecooked meals! That means that the ingredients are almost guaranteed to have great quality, and is surely healthier compared to other restaurants. Give this place a go, and you surely wont regret it!

When we crave for Filipino Food we usually go some place far to satisfy our palate. Thankfully, when certain people were having a reunion after we purchased teas for the first time at Tea First, we learned about this place. It's very near and very cosy. A few days later, we tried their stuff and we were "hooked" ever since.  How did mom describe it?  Leveled-up homecooking?  Was that it?  Anyways, what's important is that it made our tummies happy....and like what I always say about places we L-O-V-E, although we cannot be there everyday, we should surely return...and this is one such such place.

First of, I commend the service. The receptionist really took care of us when we dined here earlier. However, the food sucked so bad... like really bad (Sorry Ate...). We ordered the Chicken Carboanara, Bacon Mushroom Burger and Parmesan Wings... I guess mali lang ung inorder namin considering they specialize in Filipino cuisine. But still, everything on the menu is expected to be of same quality with their specialties, right? So here it goes... Yung manok na sinahog nila sa pasta and ung wings ay may anta na... mas malala pa sa anta ng karne na galing sa supermarket. Parang labas-pasok na sa freezer ng ilang beses. Nahiya nalang magreklamo kasi nobody's eating there earlier and the receptionist was really nice. Parang nakakahiya lang papalitan ung pagkain considering na baka wala pa silang kita buong araw. The Lemongrass Iced Tea was also a failure... It didn't taste like lemongrass infused at all. at sobrang tamis! parang nilagay ung buong sachet ng Nestea sa isang basong tubig at nilagyan ng yelo. The price was ok sana pero sablay talaga yung chibog. Kailangan kayong i-restaurant makeover ni Gordon Ramsey to be honest...

All of the foods were delicious! The mixed seafoods is a must try. The place also have a very good ambience. I would highly recommend this place!

We ordered Crispy Pata, Binagoongan and Squid in oil and garlic. I was impressed with the taste. Superb to my taste bud. I will definitely come back. The server guy is very nice, he’s all smile. Sorry, I didn’t take any pics of what I ordered but definitely deliciouso. More power.

We ordered Pork Sisig, Eggplant Parmigiana, Squid in garlic and oil, and Bagnet Pinakbet. Everything was good. It was so good we ordered extra rice. Good customer service. Will definitely come back and try their other dishes.

We ordered the victorious bangus, bicol express, crispy pata, pinakbet w/ bagnet, & kare kare. Everything was AHH-MA-ZING! Even the customer service. Best food I've had since I've been back from States. 10/10 would fly back for more!

Been here exactly a week ago using our Eatigo discount which was only 30% discount for a 6pm dine-in. Food was great especially the Squid with garlic in olive oil. My Mom liked their Beef Sinigang. Being a cook herself, she says their quality of meat was good. The Lechon Kawali was also good although I don’t think it’s really for sharing because of the small serving. The Bangus was also good with all the tomatoes and salted egg on top which makes it interesting. The dip for the Churros, however needs to be thicker. Service was great considering they lack staff so our food came one at a time. The receptionist was very friendly and accommodating so it appeased us from the waiting. We’ll definitely come back with our Eatigo discount.
