We could have rated this new at least 3 however, a bad dining experience will always outweigh the good. Checking on it's limited menu, we decided to order Mud Crab Aligue with Risotto (450pesos). The food was just okay, nothing to rave about. The crab served was too salty even the complimentary bread is full of salt. Our servers are very accommodating but here is the catch, upon bill out, the receipt says that the mud crab is 550 pesos not 450. As a matter of principle, I talked to the manager Jun Abalon (yeah I asked his name) to ask why the price differs from the menu, he cited a typo. A typo is their mistake not ours, they should never ever let the customer shoulder it but still, we did. This is totally unacceptable and downright wrong. They cheated us and they can do it again to unsuspecting diners. Calling DTI, this resto just violated R.A. 7394.Q:What is the Price Tag Law under R.A. 7394? A:The Price Tag Law, as embodied in R.A. 7394, requires that all consumer products sold in retail to the public shall bear an appropriate price tag, label or marking indicating the price of the article. Such consumer products shall not be sold at a price higher than that stated therein. Also, I am not sure why they hired him as manager. He lack the soft skills to appease a customer. He knows we were not happy about the sudden change of pricing but instead of accepting the fact that this was his mistake, he just reiterated what he said awhile ago that there was indeed a typo in the menu and that we need to pay for the actual price printed on the receipt. The menu was printed 3 months ago! (They change it every 3 months according to the server.) The manager admitted that he knew the menu was wrong and that he forgot to inform the servers about it. How could he forget something so vital? And why should we shoulder this in the first place? To think there were just two tables occupied at the time hindi naman sila busy how did they not remember about the error in the menu? We still ended up paying additional 100 pesos for their own freaking error. I will ask DTI about this because this is no longer about the money but a matter of principle. I will never recommend this place to anyone. If you decide to go, double check first the price or you may end up paying more than what you expect. Avoid this newbie by all means.Update:The owners Iñigo and Lorenzo approached our table and apologized for what happend awhile ago. They returned the money in full saying the dinner is on the house. Though we appreciate the gesture, we didn't come here for a free meal. Yes, we didn't like the food and all but this is the price we have to pay for trying this place out. So, instead of taking the money, we just took the 100 pesos overcharge and leave the rest as TIP. The owner Iñigo by the way was the one who suggested that if we are not comfortable taking the money we can leave it as a tip instead. Indeed, we are not comfortable with the idea of free meal so that's exactly what we did. The resolution came after we posted our review here. Though we appreciate the owners for reaching out, it was rather late because the damage has been done and we were no longer the happy guests. But enough of that. With regards to the food, well we didn't like it at all especially the poached chicken. It tasted and smelled weird I even asked if it was pesto. Iñigo asked his brother what it was and apparently it was a mushroom filling. Maybe that contributed to that weird smell. We totally respect the passion of the head chef Lorenzo. Maybe we belong to a group of people who will never "get" what his food is all about. The food is just too confusing to the palate. Also if I may add, this restaurant is not European, it is contemporary cuisine according to the owner. Contemporary cuisine he said is not something people are used to because it it not connected to any culture or country. He mentioned something about acquired taste. But where to acquire if it is not connected to any country or culture? With that, we are giving this place a rating of 1.0 because at the end of the day, we still feel robbed and cheated. I personally didn't like the food. We didn't know that they serve contemporary cuisine in the first place because here in website, it says they serve European. Also, the menu was different from what they have now. P1,550 could go a long way. We just totally regret coming to this place. I will not recommend this to any of my friends because of the horrible food (taste is subjective) and the horrible experience. No more contemporary food for us. Ever.

A fresh new addition to Alabang's growing food scene! With its earthy charm and sustainable background, Soil is the perfect place to get all fancy schmancy with your loved ones. Not particularly pocket friendly in terms of price range, but the artsy plating and burst of flavors definitely make up for it!I recommend the tea salmon, crispy squid, and (my fave) basil lemonade with blueberries (although mine had blackberries, not blueberries)!

This was an utter disappointment. The setting of the restaurant was very nice however the ingredients of every dish clashed with each other. Your first bite comes off as interesting as you are not quite sure what to make of it but your second bite then confirms that the food is utterly terrible and near inedible. Which is very strange seeing as we ordered three of their more recommended dishes. Total bill came out to over P1,000 for two people and I left feeling like I was robbed. Would never go back here again or recommend it to anyone. Would actively tell people not to go here.

Mediocre food we just got robbed! Seriously there are more decent restaurants than this one. Very very bad service from the manager, a total opposite from the service we received from the humble servers.

This restaurant is quietly tucked in Molito,Alabang ...not only serves good dishes, but it elevates the dining experience by bringing together different flavors to create unique dishes with ingredients sourced locally. Menu changes depends of availability of freshest ingredients. Get a seat on the bar (unless you mind the heat) and see first hand how each dish is passionately curated by the chefs. They are accomodating as they are passionate about their craft. For starters, we had the Crispy Squid (Chorizo ketchup, chilies, coriander, lime) and a bowl of Truffled Fries. For the mains we had the Tenderloin Carpaccio, slightly torched (Caviar, tamago, ebiko) and Poached Chicken (dirty barley, mushroom, onions). For dessert, the chef recommended an off the menu Bacon Cheesecake (deconstructed-blueberry,candied ginger, granita). The dishes have uniquely tasting ingridients but must all be taken together to fully appreciate the flavors. We also tasted a Balsamic ice cream (yes they make everything from scratch) with honey syrup..a palette cleanser that is both tart and unique. Recommended and will definitely be back🖒🖒

Upon entering soil we were greeted by their great staff. I must say that the were very accommodating and we'll trained . we consisted of 5 diners and I requested for the table upstairs so they sat us in the 8 seater on the 2nd floor. We decided to order the mud crab risotto, grilled tomatoes with mozzarella and THE suckling pig. we wetter told 30mins for the pig so we were impressed that the chef came to our table in 20 mins to inform us that the plug would be ready in 5mins. Again the staff was great. But the reason for my rating is for the food. Let me begin with the mud crab risotto which was priced at 600 if I am not mistaken but might have been the only thing we ordered I would " recommend ". The serving was so small and given that there was 5 of us that was gone in seconds. Then came our grilled tomatoes. I don't know what else they could do with grilled tomatoes or why I expected more. From the picture I may not be able to replicate this at home but I'm almost sure I can replicate the taste. Set on a bed of arugula which is a bitter choice to add to the tomatoes and the 1 fried mozzarella ball. Needless to say this was an overpriced starter. For the main we ordered rice upon suggestion from our waiter since he said it would go perfect with the pig. Thank goodness we did or else I would have been uberly unsatisfied. Let me explain. The rice was then only thing keeping entrée together. With out it we would have been stuck with skin and fat and not a whole lot of meat. They served the pig with side dishes of pears and a spinach cream. The spinach cream was rather interesting but the pears were a miss. I'd you look at the picture you will also see that the portion of the pig is rather lacking in size and is quite disappointing but none the less the pig in itself lacks any taste on its own. It might have been the softest pig I've had in a while but it really does leave you wanting less of it and more real filling food. Again the ambiance and staff are great but the food leaves you wanting to eat in another restaurant in the vicinity even after spending on a 1000php per head meal. I did see that they have a seasonal menu and maybe I just went there in a bad season. Nin Rodriguez Bonifacio Ysabel Yuzon

"Experiential" is the best way to describe this new kid on the block. Make sure to seat on the bar so you can have a visual feast on how they prepare their dishes. We were able to sample two mains. First is Pan Seared Duck with Fresh Pasta, this dish for me is their best because of the level of flavour profiling that it creates. Second is the Confit Chicken with coconut rice, I love anything with coconut in it so obviously I like this dish.Service is good, they offered for us to be seated on the bar area to get that dining "experiential" treat and the chefs are pro-active is asking feedbacks on their dishes. I dig any industrial chic themed interiors so I must say I love the simplicity and the wide use of earth tones that compliments the name of the establishment as well. Would definitely go back to sample more of their dishes.

[Disclaimer: This review was made a couple months back.]The words “softopening” attracts me like a fly to light and the thought of being one of thefirst ones to sample a new restaurant’s offerings delights me… a lot. And just like any typical night, I browsed through food apps and a...

Honestly the best truffle fries I've ever had, which is saying something because I almost never pass up the opportunity to order truffle anything. It was really flavorful without being overwhelming, could seriously not stop eating! The uni pasta was a little watery, but very fresh. Love this place!
