Few days after  we attended the B Culinary Soiree of  Prime Cafe in B Hotel, we were back again to have a sit down food tasting care of website. We already sampled some of their dishes during the said launching but this time we got to experience them one by one. Prime Cafe is situated at the ground floor of B Hotel in Alabang. It has limited seating capacity which I think can only accommodate 50 pax. I love the comfy chairs, the classic interior and the natural lighting that comes from the big windows.

B Hotel seems hidden from the busy streets of Alabang but it is still fairly accessible and easy to locate. In this kind of secret stop, we find Prime Cafe, named after the street where the hotel is situated. It's located at the lobby of the hotel which makes it a unique focal point and feature of the property itself. It looks classy and inviting, and the congenial staff are always ready and attentive to your requests. We were presented with their newly-launched dishes that are added to their menu. Most are Pinoy food made more enticing but there were also Japanese and Italian influences evident in conceptualizing these new additions.SOUP OF THE DAY*Roasted Pumpkin Soup- I like the rich creamy texture of this soup. You can feel the natural goodness of the pumpkin, and that smoky roasted flavor stands out. Topped with a bit of cream and some parsley, and paired with their soft fragrant garlic bread, I don't mind slurping big bowls of this soup!FEATURED DISHES*Prime Rib Eye- This is the same ribeye steak from Johnny's Steak and Grill from B Hotel, Tomas Morato. For just P1,100/Net, get your steak fix complete with roasted vegetables and smooth mashed potatoes and a savory mushroom gravy. The steak we had was done medium rare, with the right amount of pink and brown, and a little charring on the outer portions. The grill marks were quite enticing, and there was a delicious smoky grilled flavor in the steak that was absolutely mouthwatering. I can't help to go for seconds!*Seafood Gambero Tagliatelle- Al dente, thick tagliatelle that was smothered with rich fresh tomato sauce and creamy cheese. It was full of shrimps, squid rings and mussels, and this wonderful medley of seafood, tomatoes and cream was filling and delicious.*Pork Sisig- Surprisingly, this sisig remained crispy and flavorful. I was looking for the staple egg but this particular sisig version did not include one. It tasted sweet so me and my friends had to whip up a spicy soy vinegar dip to make it more savory. Best paired with fluffy white rice!*Crispy Pork Belly- Crispy, crunchy cutlets, not oily at all but could use a spicy soy vinegar dip to amp the flavor. Again, get your ricebowls ready!*Beef Salpicao- Beef was done right but the sauce was a little on the salty side.*Chicken Inasal- Right portions, marinade was on point, however chicken was a bit dry. Someone suggested to have the chicken oil glaze right on top prior to serving, to prevent the chicken from being dry.*Katsudon- Tender, pork katsudon, with lovely fluffy egg incorporated in the pork. Looks simple though and needs a little more oomph.*Gyudon Donburi- Also served as a rice topping, the gyudon tasted sweeter. Again, one of the cafe's dishes that need a little more sazz.DESSERT*Belgian Chocolate Cake- Quite decadent but not that sweet. I like the bittersweet finish and the rich icing. Perfect with black coffee to finish off your meal.Never have I imagined that there exists a cafe inside B Hotel. What's also surprising is that the prices are on point. No wonder the cafe was packed during lunch time. It is very ideal for lunch breaks for employees of offices nearby and also quite suited for families enjoying the hotel itself. I am looking forward to coming back to the hotel for a date night or a lovely staycation with the family, and introduce them to this jewel of a cafe in the South. Quite a prime location for a Prime Cafe indeed!

The whole dining experience with B Hotel Alabang’s Prime Café was a good one. I was with a few good friends who are also reviewers/bloggers like me and we were served with some really really good food. TRY THEIR PRIME RIB EYE, I repeat, TRY IT.However, notwithstanding the taste of the food being 4.5/5, I cannot help but notice that some of the staff seem to move a bit slow in processing requests such as refilling of drinks, giving extra utensils, changing of plates, and the likes. But overall, I would still go back for the food.We were served Chicken Inasal, Pork Sisig, Beef Salpicao, Gyudon Donburi, Katsudon, Roasted Pumpkin, PRIME RIB EYE, Crispy Pork Belly, Seafood Gambero Tagliatelle, and BELGIAN CHOCOLATE CAKE.-Chicken Inasal- This one is way better than the usual Inasal’s out there. I don’t order “usual” food in hotels considering the difference in the price it has in ordinary restaurants but this one may be a good exception. It was grilled, literally. So you can taste the smokiness of the chicken. Perfect grill marks; toasted edges; moist on the inside-definitely a value for money.-Pork Sisig-A very criiiiiispy pork sisig. It has enough meat and crispy skin unlike the usual sisig where there’s just meat or too much chicharon.-Beef Salpicao-Not the Salpicao I’m used to but still a good dish. The meat was tender, I just hope there was more sauce because it was perfect with rice. Try adding sili, it levels up the experience.-Crispy Pork Belly-This was my least favorite. I ate a little too late after the food was served cause I was busy taking photos so when I got to try it, it was already cold. ☹-Seafood Gambero TagliatelleOne of my top 4! There was more seafood than there was pasta in it. The variety of textures was phenomenal! Squid cuts were big, meaning it’s from a grown squid but it was so TENDEEER! It felt like I was eating baby squids -zero chewiness at all. I usually ignore the bread in pasta dishes and I was thankful I did not in this one. Request for more bread, SARAP!-Belgian Chocolate Cake-A perfect example of a delicious cake that is not too sweet t! It’s made with a bit of dark chocolate, I guess. Plus sweet chocolate ganache, shavings, and icings. The contrasting flavors was a good play. I-PRIME RIB EYE-Okay, this was the star of the day. I really enjoyed this dish. One plate would cost you just PHP1,100. Again, for just PHP1,100 you’ll get a big slab of meat that is so tender, so flavorful, and so moist! It comes with the usual mashed potato that is so buttery and creamy with a hint of freshness in it. It also comes with slightly blanched veggies that was sautéed over butter and garlic. This steak is worth a second and more try.

Aside from local cuisine, B Hotel Alabang's Prime Cafe also offers Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Italian, and even Mexican cuisines. The tempura maki was a delight to eat so was their kimchi and which has a nice fermented taste to it. The highlight of our night is certainly the perfectly grilled prime steaks.

Fililipino, Japanese, Korean, Pizza, and the dessert stations are usually crowded. As a start, we got their Sisig Pizza first. We’ve tried this years ago and we were blown away. It’s a must-try when in B Hotel Alabang. We then tried some makis then headed over to try our local cuisine. The liempo and inasal is divine. The star of the night is Prime Cafe’s Johnny’s Rib Eye Steak. We went back for this many times! Undoubtedly, this was the highlight of our dinner.
