I think that people cannot judge a place on a soft openings food! As a retired restauranteur, that is when we test everything on the public, that is why it is a "Soft Opening". I ate in this restaurant this week on the 21st of December with some others who have been to Singapore and who have also worked in the F&B industry. Our take was "VERY GOOD AND AUTHENTIC. People who criticize a restaurant are only giving an opinion and not a professional assessment. Just because you make 5 or10 reviews does not make a knowledgeable true website, let alone somebody with restaurant business knowledge. The decor is excellent, as depicts sitting on the street in Singapore and done very creative. The food was affordably priced and large portions for sharing. Service was very acceptable and accommodating. If you are familiar with Laksa and Roti and Curry, this is the place! Great job and look forward to returning.

Authentic Singaporean Food. Tastes so delicious. Ordered the sweet pork barbecue, forgot the name and the hainanese chicken and chicken rice. Sarap. Kahit yung rice na plain looking winner. Siguro I was just missing the hoisin sauce typical in singapore hawker stalls but not that it makes a huge difference kasi the cilantro in the ginger sauce brings pleasant flavor so complementary with the dish. It is pricey compared to the usual family filipino restos that is why we only tried few of the dishes because we were still unsure if it serves good food. Pero wagi. Nabusog na lang kami, kahit na kaakit akit ang roast meats na naka display and the aroma reminds me of hongkong. (Duck heaven). Can't wait to eat again and maybe score discounts with bigdish or eatigo.Question: Yung salt sculptures ba pwede iuwi? Jk. Tempting though to use as display at home 😂

Service was great. We ordered 2-meat combination (258 PHP), 1/2 Hainanese (548 PHP), 2 chicken rice (132 PHP), Beef curry (328 PHP), Beansprout (248 PHP). Food was average and I find the hainanese price too steep. Maybe, I wouldn't mind much if it tasted authentic. It was super bland, even the ginger sauce or the "similar-to-bagoong" sauce, which was included in the platter, CANNOT make a difference. Curry was okay. They were kind enough not to make it too spicy. The 2 meat selection (bbq char siew and roast pork) was the only saving grace to this meal. Might still come back though, to try their other menu selection. Lots on the menu are still not available.

My sister and I tried this place during their soft opening. Food tasted blah but pricing is fair... I don`t know if their “soft opening“ affected the food but they did not leave a good impression...

dined: sept 1, 2016Ordered: 2 meat combi, laksa, steamed chicken rice, and ordered Barley tea based on our servers suggestion.Review:"Authentic Singaporean cuisine" cooked by a purely Malaysian chef.2 meat combi is a plate of 5 slices of Salted Pork & 7 SLIVERS of honeyed pork. Laksa should by a spicy soup of coconut cream and curry, unfortunately all that we can taste is how spicy hot that was, no sweet, sour, salty, nada. ingredients used weren't even fresh! Take out fastfood laksa tasted better.Steamed Chicken was just that, steamed. Nothing special, just forgettable. The Barley tea? The best selling barley tea was probably an acquired taste that was probably bought just because barley is supposed to be good for health. The only good I can remember from this is that they allowed me to buy another drink outside the restaurant without charging for corkage. Will I go back? No. If Merlion doesn't improve, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't get past the soft opening stage and just close altogether.

Place to be if you're looking for asian inspired cuisine. We didn't expect the we would like the tofu. Though the pork barbecue that my friend ordered was like 3/4 bones. The serving time is average.

Authentic Singaporean food with a reasonable price. Not for people with low spice tolerance. I love their soup I just don't know what it is called. 😁

Roast pork with no dipping sauce. Maski man lang sana Mang Tomas. Laksa was so so. A far cry for real Singaporean food which is tasty and full of flavor.
