For me, dining at Bellevue Hotel is synonymous with their Chinese restaurant, Phoenix Court. Phoenix Court is one of my favorite restaurants, and whenever we head out to the South, there is always a quick deliberation between Rina and I, regarding if we will make a stopover for some dimsum all you can. Recently however, a new restaurant named, "Hatsune", has opened in Bellevue Hotel, that further looks to reaffirm the hotel's claim of having some of the best food in the South.

My colleagues and I had decided to bring our executives travelling from different parts of the world to this place. The usual place we dined at (Phoenix) was closed. We just had one of the worst dining experiences ever! Food was not as great as how other prior reviews put it. Staff was inefficient and discourteous. To make matters worse, one of them spilled a whole bowl of scalding hot miso soup at the back of one of our associates at dinner. This particular member of the staff didn't even have the courage to tell his manager about it. We had to ask to speak to his manager 4 times before she actually approached our table. She was clueless about the incident prior to her coming over to speak to us.This kind of service smears the Bellevue brand really badly.

I was there last night since i was craving for sushi. I called and made reservations since the one who took my call said there were a lot of people. When i got there at 730. There werent much people (scratching my head). Then came the news that "salmon was not available". I am not sure why we still went thru the reservation. Maybe i was just too hungry to transfer. Food was mediocre. Not the kind i was hoping for. "Uni" was unavailable as well. The restaurant managed to find a spicy salmon salad though and gave it for free. Maybe next time ill just find a mediocre japanese restaurant. Was not expecting that from Bellevue. This is a hotel for pete's sake.
