Ordered the mousse first, thinking it was a cake, and a coffee. When the mousse arrived, I was kind of disappointed because it was in a plastic cup. But then we started eating it. It definitely doesn't look much but it's really good! Then, we ordered the truffle melt sandwich. I was afraid we were going to get a sandwich with a measly amount of mushrooms and cheese but there was a lot, or at least a good filling to bread ratio. I like cheese and mushrooms, so this might be biased but I think it was delicous. Plus, the place was really nice. Will definitely come back, mostly for the mousse. Hope they serve it in a ceramic instead though.

Need a sandwich fix? Then visit Elbert's. Price may seem high but what they put in your food will really satisfy your hungry belly! They also serve good coffee for that much needed afternoon kick!

I purposely intended to visit Elbert's sandwiches when I was in the neighborhood and was rewarded with sandwich awesomeness. The cheesesteak sandwiches that were the flagship offering at Elbert's Cheesesteak Sandwiches' outlet in Rockwell many moons ago are here - albeit smaller, and repriced accordingly, but they taste even better than I remember. Not only: the Angus burger sandwiches that are part of the 8 Cuts repertoire are here in a more "dressed down" style, which fits this format. The beef is young, lean, cooked till medium, served a teensy bit bloody, and bloody delicious. What makes every bit of difference is the bread they use, and the way they toast it, whether for the cheesesteaks or their burgers. The burger is the perfect size, maybe a bit on the bulky size for us girls, but just right for the guys. Meanwhile, the cheesesteak 8-inch sandwich feels a little lean on the filling, but please take my word for it: with sauteed onions, and a bit of mozzarella for the premium version, it is seasoned exactly right - and together with the crunchy roll, absolutely tasty, absolutely memorable.Their onion rings, crunchy with their thin coat of panko breading, outclass their oily fries; but because one can get fries and a drink for only a P100 more, it is still a darned good deal. After eating all that, we were too full to sample their version of lechon Cubano; I'll have to crawl through Manila's infernal, unforgivable traffic just to have it.The only reason I honestly haven't given this a flat 5.0 is because I want to be very sure that this is as good as I believe it to be.Rockwell's loss is Filinvest's gain; hopefully Elbert Cuenca will give us a chance to sample these treats north of Makati one day.

There are a lot of different kinds of sandwiches, burgers and sliders out there but Elbert's is definitely one of a kind. Although we were on a food crawl and Elbert's Sandwiches is our last stop, our craving for good stuffs is not disappointed. Elbert's Sandwiches is managed by Chef Adrian who made us the sandwiches along with the friendly servers during our visit. They were actually famous for their Cheese-steaks and they use 100 % USDA sukiyaki-cut rib-eye topped with onions and provolone cheese so we will would not want to miss the chance to try their Classic Cheese-steak. You have the option to what kind of sandwich size whether a classic which is an 8-inch roll or a Hoagie, a 5-inch roll with lettuce and tomatoes. The melted provolone cheese and those generous amount of toppings and the tender and succulent beef is tasty on every bite. There's no doubt this is what people come back for.The Cubano is a new addition. It is composed of slices of roast pork (porchetta) and smoked ham and they use Dijon mustard, pickles and emmental cheese. It is a little bit of sharp and strong but it compliments well with the porchetta. We also had the Truffle Mushroom Melt. If you prefer not the meaty sandwich, the sauteed shiitake and white mushroom plus the cheesy mozzarella and provolone topped with truffle sauce is made only for you. The sandwich is still full packed with goodness without having the meat. The best that I have tried so far is the Southwestern Grilled Chicken. Dry rubbed chicken breast with barbecue sauce and an optional Jalapeno flavor if you wanted it more spicy. This sandwich is flavorful and tangy yet not overly hot. The type of southwestern flavor it is.Hot dogs are also best eaten in sandwiches so we got to try one of their own, the Chili dog. Not that special though but the meat is juicy and it is lavished with a lot of toppings. The Chili sauce is not too hot but you can really feel the kick.Chef Adrian also has his own burger specials. They use a special blend of US beef that is ground-upon-order. You have the option to choose from the Umami Burger, Truffle Burger, and the BLT. The classic BLT had a twist in it by using Russian dressing which is somewhat appetizing sharp taste and the patty is really delicious, more than that, the serving size is huge. A little pricey but worth your money. There are sides and extras you can partner with your sandwiches. We had the Fresh Cut Fries and Beer-battered Onion Rings. The Fries is probably one of the best tasting fries I had by far- fresh and finger licking good.Overall, I would say that the experience is amazing. Great service as well, Kudos!

The food tries to be honest but somehow comes off as pretentious, and it is not unusual for customers to seem the same way. However, Elbert's serves up food made from decent-to-prime ingredients, and for that they deserve a good pat on the back.Bonus points for the relative peace this place currently enjoys; I find Elbert's to be a reliably comfortable place to hole up and get some work done over some chow.

Elbert’s is self service, as the young man at the cashier very kindly pointed out when we were looking around for someone to attend to us. We went to the counter, menu is spread there so you won’t be craning your neck looking at the ones displayed overhead. He helped us choose by explaining the difference between a classic and a hoagie, as well as that of the American, Provolone, and Premium Cheesesteak. So just to cut to the confusion, we asked him what their bestsellers are, and he mentioned cheesesteak and Umami Burger. What we ordered: Classic Provolone Cheesesteak, Umami Burger, Beer Battered Onion Rings, and since we went for a combo, we got fries and a can of soda. The first to hit our table was the fries, which was bloated with oil, like it was forgotten in the fryer so the oil seeped or got absorbed by the fries, you can actually see the excess oil glistening on the surface of the fries. I called the lady waitstaff’s attention and she was apologetic before she removed it from our table, after a few minutes, the fries came back - refried to make it crispy. I didn’t expect that from the caliber of Elbert’s. Next came the Beer Battered Onion rings which was again too oily, as you can see from the tissue at the bottom of the onions. Had the oil not been too overwhelming this would have been good. So we just dunk it in hot sauce and tomato ketchup, not complaining for fear that it’ll be refried too. Then the Provolone Cheesesteak arrived. We had it cut into two. When we opened it, there was loads of sautéed white onions and the beef. It was too bland. Like the beef was boiled then sliced, slapped into the bread, a scant of a sauce and tiny mozzi then served. So we asked if they have steak sauce or gravy to repair the food, we were told none except if we want to put tomato sauce or ketchup. We just ate it quietly. Finally the Umami Burger was served. Again we asked them to cut into two. It is small. When I lifted it up to take a bite, the patty was falling apart. It was dry and crumbly. It was tasteless /bland. Whatever sauce they sparingly put disappeared. Because it was expensive, I just ate the filling and left the bun...I wonder if the owners taste test their products... otherwise they wouldn’t have the temerity to price their products this much. Make some improvements, provide the proper condiments to complement your steak sandwiches. I’m not an isolated case, there was a Caucasian couple dining when we were there, and trust me, they were very unhappy with your “crap of a product” and walked out.

Elbert’s Sandwiches, now this place definitely redeemed and showed me why Cheesesteaks are popular! After having eaten a Cheesesteak before that made me lose my interest in Cheeseteaks, Elbert’s made me love it. The juiciness of the beef and onions and the cheesiness of the Cheeseteak. Wow, just wow! Definitely my favorite of the place. The Truffle Mushroom Melt, a healthy alternative for those wanting a sandwich but are also health conscious. The cheesy and creamy goodness overflowing, together with the mushrooms had me craving for more. The Southwestern Grilled Chicken, this spicy chicken goodness is surely one of the top spicy chicken sandwiches I have ever tried. I am a fan of spicy chicken food and this definitely had me wanting more. This for me is best served with their HUGE and juicy Beer-battered Onion Rings and Fresh cut Fries. For dessert, a classic Pinoy style sundae, the Choc-nut soft serve sundae. The choc-nut paired with the sundae is a genius made pair.

I am not a fan of cheeseteaks but this one is good. The place is a bit small but the interior made it look bigger. Overall, we were satisfied with everything that we ordered. They can train their staff to be more pleasant and proactive next time.

Elbert's Sandwiches is the former Elbert's Cheesesteak of the Powerplant mall in Rockwell, my favorite cheesesteak place during those years is now in Commerce Center in Alabang. The finale of our foodcrawl and probably the best and my favorite. We were served with an army of ravishing sandwiches like the Cubana,Chef Adrian's Special BLT Burger, Truffle Mushroom Melt,Southwest Grilled Chicken Sandwich,Chili Hotdog and the Classic Cheesesteak. Also they have us taste their beer batter onion rings ,freshly cut fries and capping off with the chocnut soft serve sundae. What I like about this restaurant is that the passion for food can be tasted in every product, they uses high quality cheddar cheese instead of chiz whiz on their cheesesteak ,their bread customized by some of the finest bakeries in the metro ,love the sour dough bread and dutch crunch bread. The burger is made up of three cuts of beef, fries freshly cut and then cooked twice to reach that notable crispness. The soft serve ice cream made from real milk and not on the sugary milk powder used by some food brands,I like Chef's giving a spin into it by adding condensed milk and top with chocnut powder. My favorites are ;the Cubano ,Truffle mushroom melt,Classic. The Cubano ,a baguette sandwich stacked with porchetta ,ham and emmental cheese ( pork belly) complimented with that awesome Dijon mustard. The Dijon is not that too overpowering against the flavor of the porchetta which makes it very good .The Truffle Mushroom Melt love the sour dough bread ,and the marriage of aroma and flavors of mushroom and truffles combine.Charmed with that earthy and musky flavors .The Classic ,a heap of meat ,onions and cheese in a nicely done bread.Verdict : Worth every peso ,must try for every sandwich lover.A very Happy Place.☺🙂👌🏼👍🏼Superb!
