Got to try out Cafe Eight's special Vietnamese buffet last August 2018 for my seventh website FMU 🚩 This was my first hotel restaurant invite and I couldn't get more excited! For the mains, we had the Che Bap voi Nuoc Cot Dua (Corn in Sweet Soup with Coconut Milk), Ca ri GaKieuViet Nam (Vietnamese Chicken Curry), Rau Thap Cam Ham (Vietnamese Braised Vegetables), and Tom Cang Kho Nuoc Dua (Stewed Scampi in Coconut Juice). I only liked their Chicken Curry, maybe because I'm not that fond of Viet food. For their noodles, they served the one and only hot Pho. I did like the taste of it, and that is the first Pho I had in my 22 years of existence (I do hope it's close to the authentic taste though). For desserts, the Banh Khoai Mi Nuong (Baked Cassava Cake) and Che Khoai Mon (Sticky Rice with Taro in Sweet Soup). I haven't tried the both of them (sorry) because they don't look appetizing to me. I just proceeded to the American-style dessert table, lol.At that time, there were three-- no wait, four-- seperate buffet tables for Japanese, American, Desserts (in general), and the Vietnamese: for them to cater both of their guests who stayed at the hotel and those who are invites. The place is spacious and grand. The ambiance and the feel of the restaurant is luxurious. The staffs can also attend at your requests on most of the times.Hoping to come back soon! Had breakfast with the wife on our anniversary staycation at Crimson Hotel. The food was quite decent with a wide selection. There were some confusion in the service throughout the meal. Omlette station was confused, beverage service delivered the wrong drink twice, and it took a while before we finally was told we didn’t need to sign the breakfast to the room. I would still go back to give them another chance on the service.

This is our 2nd or 3rd time dining in for their breakfast buffet and we’re still not that satisfied so far despite the offerings to have been improved from our last. Choices were still not that many and some were a bit too oily like their bacon. I guess we were a bit unlucky to have breakfast with a big tour group of Koreans that the buffet was quite chaotic even on a regular weekend. The staff had a hard time refilling the dishes and the fruits. Good thing we had access to the executive lounge so we were able to get our fruits there instead. Beef steak was good though, perfectly paired with rice else it’s quite salty if eaten as is. Egg station was ok too, a bit too oily but taste was great.

Cafe eight fires up your appetite with a Latin-American-inspired traditional way of grilling meat over an open fire - churrasco. A range of different cuts of beef sirloin, lamb leg, pork lion, Brazilian pork sausage, and chicken thigh are brought to the table and sliced off from the skewers.

This month's buffet theme here is a Churrasco-style buffet. I had recently experienced this during a Sunday brunch which costs around Php 2100. Try different sets of meat ranging from beef to pork and get to see the chef's slice those juicy pieces right at your table. A fun experience with the knowledge that your meat is freshly sliced for your taste bud's pleasure. As for the choice of viands, there are tons of cuisines in each corner for you to choose from so make sure you have a big appetite before you go here. There's a Japanese corner with tempura and okonomiyaki and some sushi. A seafood corner with shrimps, crabs, and lots of fishes. Some are already cooked but some are freshly cooked upon your request. There's also a Filipino section with lots of popular but unusual dishes. Unusual meaning that it's not your usual home-cooked meals. The most unusual and different thing I saw in that section was the fried frog! That one was as exotic as it can get. You also get free-flowing drinks such as wines and juices and beers. I also really loved their desserts. I particularly loved the Mango Cheesecake which had a strong flavor of cream cheese and that's all I really want in a dessert tbh. I would say it's a bit pricey but if you're looking to treat yourself somewhere nice anyway, might as well spend it here because it is worth the try. You'll get your money's worth once you devour those delicious meats anyway.
