This resto is always a classic favorite for us. Love the tasty dishes here. The ice tea is so refreshing. My all time favorite dish is the chicken ala King and Korean BBQ. The breads are also so yummy. I just wish they change the way payments and orders are done with the cashier instead of thru the waitresses

We are looking for a spacious, non-crowded dining at SM Marikina on a Saturday evening.  We found French Baker/with dining, so we sat on a table, its a self ordering or they just got busy this evening so I took the initiative to look at the menu and order.  After few secs, mag oorder na ako (hindi ko na ienglish ha) then the cashier said, closed na daw dining. HA? its Saturday, and mall hours is up to 10pm, we arrived at 8:30pm.  So yon, we asked for the manager, then after a few minutes nilabas na kami..so yun, reason is that till 8pm lang daw ang kitchen, but since we know the mall rules, all restos must be opened until mall close.  (the manager means their dining area is closed na).  Anyway, to cut it short, they served a raw Fish (dory) cost 300php, took 30 mins.. So binalik ko, kht tapos na yung kasama ko kumain ng spareribs nya worth 255.php.  after few mins, bumalik ang server, saying "naitapon na daw" yung white sauce ng fish, so hahaluin na lang daw nila yon kasama yung existing sauce, kung okay lang daw ba sakin?. Politely, i said, cancel na lang.  (total busog nmn ako). So yun, kinancel naman nila, ang problema pa yung 255php ang na cancel sa card ko, at hindi yung 300php. (so hassle pa ibalik diba). So here you go, now you know... Goodluck na lang po sa mag ttry. Siguro, okay sila pag opening, or pag kundisyon ang cook nila. pfft.

Been here two times, service not consistent. The first time, the server was great. She was bubbly, smiled, knew her stuff, alert. The second time, not so much. Server took a while before she got our order. Inuna niya pa the table that came after us. Hate that. Wala naman silang kasamamg senior so there really was no excuse. Food was just okay on both occasions, mostly as a matter of preference. Everything was too sweet. Barbecue, potato salad, chicken salad. If you like sweet all of those, I suppose you won't have a problem.

Everyone is familiar with The French Baker, and I'm happy because while the place isn't the world's most luxe bakery, they do provide quality bread and delicious meals that are budget-friendly.The French Baker makes so many different types of bread; From hotdog buns, to wheat pandesal, to raisin bread, to french bread, to pizza, and everything in between... and our family's merienda has truly been so fun and diverse because of this bakery.I also particularly enjoy their rice meals. Their Hickory Spareribs and Baked Chicken are solid meals any time of the day. They give generous portions too so you really get a lot of bang for your buck.Their offerings are essentially the same no matter what branch you visit so do yourself a favor and bring home a bag of bread for yourself or dine in and have yourself a delicious, filling meal.

The French Baker in SM Marikina is my family's go-to place when our hunger falls in the spectrum between a light snack and full meal. My personal favorites are:- the Chicken Ala King (only when they serve it with the flaky pastry that's supposed to come with it and not when they substitute it with any other bread)- the Beef Turnover (when I'm hungry but I don't want a full lunch yet; btw, my hubby prefers the Tuna Turnover)- the Blueberry and Red Cherry Danish (flaky pastry, creamy filling plus the sweet/tart fruit, yummy!)

While waiting to pick up my son, an impromptu date materialized. We ended at SM Marikina while waiting out for my son to be dismissed. I wanted Vikings but Having an upset stomach, made us decide to dine at French Baker. I had hickory spareribs and my wife had chicken cordon bleu. I found my spareribs to be a bit small for the price of 235. The taste was good though. The cordon bleu was okay, nothing special to mention. Service was quite fast. Will be back but it won't be on the top of our list.

One of the restaurants we patronize regularly at SM Marikina is The French Baker. However, our recent experience probably would be our last. First of all, when we were ordering drinks those that we wanted (Iced Tea, Four Seasons, Iced Mocha) were not available. My wife then ordered iced lemonade specifying that it should not be sweet because she usually drinks lemon water at home. When the drink arrived, guess what..it was sweet! When my wife told the server about it, she apologized and took it back to inform whoever prepared it to change it as originally requested. When she gave my wife  a "new" glass of lemonade it was still sweet! Our meal orders were Chicken Cordon Bleu for me and Steak Sandwich for my wife. Part of my order included a bowl of soup. It wasn't what it used to be - it was starchy and did not have any croutons at all. The Cordon Bleu was OK - crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. The gravy that went with it was not sufficient though. My wife's Steak Sandwich was so-so. Although the beef was tender, the flavoring did not have much impact.Did I mention that it took us a long time to place an order? The manager was even there and she was not convivial.Adieu, French Baker!

My mom and I had our merienda at this branch today. We ordered 2 pieces of cream puffs. While paying I told the cashier we will be dining in. There were just 4 of us customers but it took them a long time to serve our cream puffs. When I followed up our order the girl server was just took her time not even bothering to give us water and napkins. I had to keep on following up on our water and napkins etc. This branch never improved on their customer service.

Favorites: cordon bleu; chicken ala king; mango crepe with vanilla ice creamI'm just not a fan of the whole "we'll-take-you-order-on-your-table-but-you-have-to-get-in-line-and-pay-it-anyway" thing. Seriously counter productive.
