Food is so so. Even if price is on the average side, still not worth it. The pad Thai tastes bland, the chicken curry is not something worth going back for. The papaya salad? Awful. Not going back here again.

Thai Foon is this wonderful modern Thai restaurant located along Gil Fernando Avenue in San Roque, Marikina City. The dining area is cozy and casual, and the waitstaff are very attentive and friendly.Tom Yum Goong (or Hot and Sour Soup with Prawns) - I have had tom yum goong at other popular chain restaurants before, and I can say that Thai Foon's tom yum goong is the most well-balanced as far as flavor is concerned. The prawns were slightly overcooked, but the joy of partaking in a good soup as a prelude to a meal is in the excitement and anticipation that it brings to the palate, and in the company of friends you share it with.Tom Kha Gai - Hot and spicy soup with chicken, coconut milk, and galangal. Warm, spicy, creamy, and filling. This is the Asian version of that classic chicken soup that Westerners enjoy during chilly weather.Spicy Minced Pork with Lettuce - This is my favorite dish of the entire spread. Equal parts sweetness and fiery heat, the assertive flavors of the meat and sauce are cut down by the freshness of the greens.Crispy Catfish with Green Mango Salad - This dish is a play on textures. The catfish was a delicious yet light treat, cooked to crispy perfection and well-seasoned. The green mango salad wasn't quite what I expected--I am used to fresh and crisp slivers of that mildly sour fruit--but the pickled vegetable texture is a good foil to the deep-fried fish.Pineapple Fried Rice - Our fried rice had so much pineapple and sausage in it that it is a complete meal on its own.Green Curry Pork - This is my second favorite dish of the day. Warm and spicy with a subdued level of heat, I highly recommend having this dish with the pineapple fried rice. That was an awesome combination! We also had Deep Fried Chicken Wings with Sweet Chili Sauce, Chicken Satay, Fresh Spring Rolls, and Pad Thai.Thank you to YouTuber What the F! for taking me with her to the food tasting event at Thai Foon. You can find this restaurant at the ground floor of the Manila HealthTek Building, Gil Fernando Avenue, San Roque, Marikina City. It's worth the trip to Marikina City!

One of the few restaurants in Marikina that offers superb customer service. Their staff are polite and very attentive. The price matches the serving size as well as the taste of their food. Our favourites are bagoong rice and spring rolls (but we wish they'll add more shrimps🙄). Ambiance is okay but their restroom needs improvement.

About 4.9 - just because I think taste is milder/lighter than actual Thai taste to suit Pinoy pallet. But we liked it that way.Just along Mayor Gil Fernando. Very convenient. The place is small but well decorated and plates and utensils were well arranged. And the best part of our experience, aside from the food, is the fine-dining service that the waitress gave us. She's well empowered to give recommendations and had attended us even before we requested. Food are also served in the right sequence: spring roll, then pad thai (for apperizers), and pineapple fried rice, chicken green curry, and chicken pandan (for mains). We even suspect she's the owner. As for the food:- Prawn spring roll - perfect combo of the wrapped veggies with a bit of prawns and citrusy and bagoong-ish green sauce- Pad thai - good for single serving if will be eaten as stand alone. But enough for 3-member group of "matakaws" if eaten with rice+viand. We enjoyed it even though it is lightly seasoned (relative to other pad thais we have tried). The lime complimented with the noodles- Pineapple Rice - well portioned for 3 persons. Pineapple is well cooked that it is not as sour as the typical chinese fried rice. We were initially concerned if it will be a bad combination with the curry. But we trusted Ate and it was a right decision- Chicken Green Curry - i liked the spices in it. Other than the usual ginger in most curries, there is another herb spice (which i don't know what) that made it more fragrant. Chicken pieces are a bit small (tho this may be intentional to make every bite tasty) and sauce is a bit dilluted. But tastes really nice- Pandan chicken - super tasty. They are small wings but 👍👌

The place is clean and servings are of ample amount. I specifically like their version of Pad Thai. The taste is comparable enough with the authentic Pad Thai I’ve tasted in Thailand.

I ordered the fresh spring roll prawn and pad thai. Galing lang ako ng Thailand last month and wala kaming ginawang kainin kundi pad thai nila sa street. So to say na 4 stars, kalasa niya pad thai sa thailand. And it could be for two ung isang serving. Yung thai iced tea is their thai milk tea. If you have tasted sa 7 eleven Thailand ung milktea. Same taste din only for 65 pesos! Will definitely come back here if I crave for pad thai. 🤩

Sometimes, looks can be deceiving. Their facade may not be appealing but we just found out that this has been a hidden gem. We ordered their Thai Iced Tea, Pork Satay, Green Curry, Tom Yam and Thai Sisig. Everything was a hit. Not too pricey and their serving is good for 2-3 persons. Don't be intimidated of their facade. The interior is cozy. The whole experience is worth. Authentic!!!
