Nice 80s cafe concept. Nostalgic. Great old collection. Puttanesca and seafood pasta are my and Mama's favorite. Someone who cooks well like Mama and she craves for SKOP pasta, their food must be really good

Drama-free, decent date after a month! Because we went to DITO:Bahay ng Sining a bit too early for the play (well, we were 5 hours early!), The H and I decided to pigout in Marikina. Too bad my ulcer was acting up and I couldn't really eat a lot. So, we went on looloo to check out places nearby (since we always hangout/eat at DITO).SKOW (Some Kind Of Wonderful) is a few minutes away from Concepcion and I've been nagging him to eat there since my birthday. When he read the reviews on looloo, he agreed that we eat there for today. :)The place is really cool; they had posters of old albums (like The Smiths, Cyndi Lauper, Billy Idol) and movies (like The Breakfast Club, Back to the Future, ET, The Wedding Singer) posted on the wall. It's a small place, but it feels homey, like you're just eating in a country house. It wasn't that cold, though. Plus, the staff were watching TV and they looked bored. The TV was on a local channel. I mean, it would really be cool if they switched it to a music channel or movie channel if there are people, since that's the theme of the restaurant, yes? And, people want to relax, not watch the news and be stressed by it.The food? Very affordable and flavorful! The H got Buttered Prawns with Lemon aioli for only Php180! The prawns weren't oily and delicious. They were a tad bit overcooked though. But for 180Php, it was worth a try! :)I got the Oyakudon (sauteed chicken with egg on top) for only 100Php! The chicken wasn't dry at all! The spring onion on top did work to somehow balance the saltiness of the dish. All in all, the food experience was great! :) The little details just kinda bothered me. But, this is a really cool place to visit, so, try it out!

The vintage look of this restaurant was really Some Kind of Wonderful. Like you are in 80's. They had an old pieces of collections. Actually we tried this place to taste some desserts like cakes. But when we arrived the desserts is not available. Hmm.. That's why we decided to tried the fish and chips for the snack and for our drinks the strawberry milkshake. It taste good. Hope that next time we go here there's a desserts available.

This restore serves good food but I find their price a bit expensive as their servings are too small. The place is nice but if you don't live in the neighborhood it will be a challenge finding this place.

The outside was made of wood which makes the restaurant enticing and very well designed. Inside is so cute!! They have old portraits, disk, and toys. Because we're full, We just want to order cake for dessert but they don't have that time. Failed!! :) We just ordered Here Fish Fillet and Strawberry Shake.:) The Shake was good. No Comment for their Fish Filet. :)

ordered a slice of their choco caramel cake. the serving size was promising as well as the icing but the cake itself was dry. i wanted to try their pbj milkshake but was not available so i asked for a chunky monkey since i like monkeys, i mean bananas. i think they didn't use cavendish/lakatan hence the banana did not blend well with the taste of the milkshake.i fell in love with the interior. reminiscent of the lemon pie house in sagada and 50's diner in baguio.

Went here a week ago, the place really looked nice in and out. Ordered seafood marinara because it is one of their best sellers here and it taste pretty good. Also i ordered a bowl of torikatsudon but it didn't impressed me that much.

Already been here twice already :)The place is a bit small for me but comfy enough to sit and eat. It has that colorful 80’s interior around the place that you would really appreciate. I can say that ambiance here is really great. Carbonara (Php120)image really creamy and yum yum! I really like this one because it is served in a big plate with a big serving**Yes, been trying almost ALL of the pastas in every cafe/restaurants we dine in cause I love pasta a lot!**Katsudon (Php120)I already tried their pasta the last time so I opted to try this one instead. Nothing special about this one but I think it’s quite delish. Serving was enough to satisfy my hunger.Still loving and recommending SKOW to everyone who wanna experience a different retro kind of dining.

I recommend buffalo wild wing, fish and chips and mozzarella sticks. Love the 80s vibe as well though the place is a bit small and too far if you're coming from the south.

THE LILAC BRICK ROAD: A Marikina Food Trip Special Part 2Finally! For our main entree, we were supposed to give them a garden dinner setup in Pan de Amerikana unfortunately they were closed on weekends. Instead we headed to the small yet chic restaurant near our parish. Inspired by the 1987 film of the same name, Some Kind of Wonderful or S.K.O.W. boasts of an interior with classic Hollywood movie posters, '80s music albums and long lost toys that make up a very endearing atmosphere perfect for friends and lovers. However I don't recommend this place to big groups of people or barkadas because the small place won't allow you to move easily once it gets too crowded. Their menu offers a variety of cuisines from Italian, American, Japanese and Filipino. Although I was kinda disappointed with the dry presentation of the food, the taste was somehow flavorful. I loved their breaded chicken fillet with creamy tomato olive sauce more than their bestseller barbecued spareribs. Their carbonara was delectable too.
