I swear my brother is like a human website app. He knows exactly where to go for good food. Last night was no exception when we headed for Rodic's Diner to have dinner.You can tell that this Rodic's Diner has just been recently opened. It looked totally new. I love that it's spacious, brightly lit and that it's clean. Huge photos of their famous dishes hanging on their walls. When you are at Rodic's you have got to order their famous Tapsilog. For only P95 per order, you get a generous serving of their delicious shredded tapa, a gorgeously cooked fried egg that lay on top of tasty fried rice. Plus, you get free clear soup. 😍Their menudo (P80) was pretty tasty, too. That was what my mom ordered. The quality of the dish reminded me of fiesta food. It was truly a yummy dish. My brother, on the other hand, was pretty happy with his order one of the diner's most popular dishes, chicsilog (P95).

Rodic's is one of the most popular diners in UP, and I have witnessed how much it has changed in terms of pricing! I recall paying only P35 for their famous tapsilog, and through the years, it has been increasing gradually. In this branch, I was a bit surprised to be paying P95 na! It's still relatively affordable considering that the place is air-conditioned, though I think the tapa quality has also changed. It's still good, but it may have become sweeter? Also, the egg I got was too salty. I'd still go back, though, especially since this branch still makes me think of UP as it has a picture of the Oblation as well as a cartoonized map of the Diliman campus, my beloved alma mater.

Was really happy when I knew that Rodic's has opened a branch in Marikina City. Unlike the first known branches in Quezon City, the clean and cozy place is what makes me enjoy their (obviously) famous tapsilog. And not only that, they have a section where you can buy various "pasalubongs" from different parts of the Philippines. It is like a Rodic's branch that has a provincial feel it. One nearby place to reminisce my good ol' college days in UP!
