My hubby and I went here because a friend recommended that it has great pastries. The time wasted looking for this place was worth it because the food was great. Their carrot cake is moist and the cream cheese icing is not over powering and it has walnuts! The roast beef sandwich and also their cordon bleu is also on point. However, the red velvet was a bit dry. The service is a bit slow and the place is a bit small. Nonetheless, I would love to come back and eat here again😉

The food was absolutely perfect! Must try ang roast beef burger nila. Tender ang beef tsaka malasa talaga. Gano dn naman ang cakes super sarap hindi nakakaumay at mura pa. 👍🏻

Its been a long time since i ate in this resto again. I craved for their roast beef. But their sinigang sa bayabas is a cut above the rest in the menu. This is a must order if you crave for a pinoy soup dish. The roast beef has never changed its savor and texture. All very good! The resto has improved in its ventilation so eating is comfortable and satisfying.

Our first time to eat here and it exceeded our expectations. Single order of roastbeef was very tasty but very small portioning of 1 big piece and 2 small pieces of meat. Oh well, you get what you pay for 165 bucks. The chicken wings on the other hand consists of 7pcs, very filling and cost friendly. Also ordered slice of yema cake and it was super yummy! Am just cutting down on sweets otherwise I can finish the whole cake! Service is pretty good. I just hope they'll provide brighter lights because it looks a bit dim in the resto.

Every once in a while I get an idea for a particular post that I can’t wait to write, and this is one of those! CAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!! Cream cheese FROOOOOOOOOSSSSSSTINGGGGG!! (For those who are getting tired of my sweets & desserts obsession, my apologies. Sometimes a little too much of it can sneak its way into the blog). Anyway, carrot cake is one of my favorite desserts — all those healthy carrots — it’s the perfect way to end a meal! Or begin a meal. Or have a meal…The Food Crawlers, previously named the ZomatitosxZomatitas, had our first ever crawl in Marikina. After months and months of planning & coordination, we finally did it! Quina Pastry Shop was our 4th stop for the day. After indulging on all meaty-goodness from the 3 restos, we wanted to pace our bellies and rest for coffee/tea and delectable pastries. It wasn't a bad call, really!I didn’t have high hopes for the Carrot Cake when I first saw it; I figured it’d be dry and hard or - even worse, soggy! It was none of those things. It was heavy, yes, but very moist and packed with yummy add-ins like walnuts, juicy raisins. The taste of the cake itself was great - and if I’m willing to enjoy a version of carrot cake without the icing, that’s saying something! It would easily have been a satisfying treat without the piles of cream cheese frosting swirled on the top, but the addition of that rich icing made it one of the best snacks I’ve had in the country! That swirl of frosting on all the sides? Not at all gritty. It’s smooth, unbelievably creamy, and still extremely thick. Whoever makes that frosting has a gift…a GIFT! The cake was filled with goodies, and it was moist and definitely had good flavors. Along with the Brownie Chocolate Cake and the classic Blueberry Cheesecake.Stepping into Quina Bakery in this town of hidden gems (San Roque), your senses will be overwhelmed with the sweet aromas of cakes as you browse the turn-of-the-century shop. A closer look will also unveil a display of freshly prepared, old-fashioned spreads. The aromas waft out to the street capturing the interest of customers heading in (or out) of the shop. Can't wait to come back for more!

Good home-cooked food. For those too lazy to prep dinner at home, this is a great choice. Meals and pastries are reasonably priced. My Asks:*The Cordon Bleu was actually delicious and I like that it was not dry and tough. I would love it more had the sauce been creamier.*Location was a bit hard to find that we almost missed it.

After a filling lunch, we headed to Quina Pastry Shop for some desserts and coffee. The ambiance is relaxing as it has a Greek/Mediterranean vibe. They also offer some meals, cakes, and drinks. We ordered red velvet cake, brownie walnut torte, chocolate cake, carrot cake, blueberry cheesecake, and yema cake. For drinks, most of us had brewed coffee while I had iced cappuccino. My favorites would probably be the brownie walnut and blueberry cheesecake. The brownie walnut torte was moist and gooey, as they offered to warm it up. It has a good nutty flavor and not to sweet. The blueberry cheesecake was divine. The right blend of cream cheese complements all ingredients.Surprisingly, the carrot cake went well for me. Usually they are very sweet and the cream cheese frosting has to balanced it out. The look of their frosting was dry, but it turned out really creamy and good. I like that they don't make their cakes too sweet. My least favorite would be the Yema Cake. It was dry and grainy. The yema didn't moist the cake and added dryness to it. The cheese on top dried out as well and was hard.I was disappointment with my iced cappuccino because it wasn't iced. It was chilled, I guess, but not the coldness you are after. You can request for ice though. The place is good for studying, meeting or just hanging out. They have a tv there as well if you want to catch your regular shows.

It's not the most visible storefront, and the door is always closed, but they're open. As you walk into the shop, you would realize you see the entire counter and dining area.We sampled several of their cakes and in all honesty, some were good some were just meh. The real standouts for me would have to be the Brownie Walnut Torte and Carrot Cake. The Old-fashioned Chocolate Cake was pretty good too - straight-forward, quality chocolate that wasn't overly sweet. Didn't like the Blueberry Cheesecake as much - the cheese was very weak. I reckon it needs more mascarpone cheese in it. Also the Yema Cake does feel a bit dry.  Overall, Quina has tasty enough cakes at reasonable prices but not worth going out of your way for. Don't let my review keep you from trying Quina though. I, personally would like to comeback and sample their entrees. The Lengua Estofado in particular sounds really interesting.

After a satisfying lunch we headed to Quina Pastry Shop.Like other restaurants in Marikina, this was also a house turned into a food haven.Quina is just somewhere in the streets of San Roques. It was hard to find because the signage was small and not that visible.Quina was along Gi Fernando (formerly Tuazon), just turn right on BDO and go straight. That's Dragon street and just keep watching the left side and look for the yellow QUINA sign ( The NEW No.37 )So we ordered these cakes: chocolate cake, nutty brownie cake, dulce de leche, red velvet and Carrot Cake. We also had coffee to match our cakes. The one that stood out was the Carrot cake - moist, soft, not too sweet and not to airy. The least I liked was the Yema cake/ dulce de leche which was dry. It tasted like it was kept for days already and It was too sweet for me.The Food Crawlers | TFC

If you want honest-to-goodness food to deeply satisfy your hunger (and even angst) on days you tirelessly hustle, Quina is the perfect go-to fuss-free hangout to cap your days. Try their Adobo sa Gata, lengua and Kare-Kare and you'll get my drift. Their dark chocolate cake also has just the right amount of sweetness. My hubby always takes out their Balut Ala Pobre for me because I am constantly craving it. I eat it soon as he gets home no matter how late. They also serve an array of cocktails to pair with the food. I like that their mojito and rum coke versions are not watered-down. And they just opened up another branch in Mother Ignacia, Q.C., which is great for non-Marikina residents! Bring your whole crew or your big appetite -or both-and guaranteed, the night will always be young.
