4th stop during the website ✘ AbsCbn food crawl is the Manganen Bagnet House located at Lilac St in Marikina.I think they just opened few months ago and they're the first restaurant that focuses on Bagnet mealsThough place is a bit small, it is very cozy and full of Filipino designed interiors. Here's what were served to us during the visit:Bagnet Kare Kare (Php298)- Fan of KareKare, I love how I can really taste the peanut sauce on their own Kare Kare. The bagnet was crispy and tasty. Bagnet Sisig (Php208)- Not the best for me but it was flavorful. *Forgot the name of the dish- I love the bagnet on this dish was so creamy, salty and very tasty.Coffee- This wasn't really part of the best seller dishes to try but I just wanna commend on their coffee because it really tastes so good. Not sure if this is the same coffee on their menu but it really tastes sooo good!! Overall, great food and experience dining here at Manganen Bagnet House. Would love to come back here with friends since I live near the place. Best bagnet in town :)Thanks again website and Mangane Bagnet House for this experience :))

My boyfriend has long been wanting to try this restaurant; fortunately, this was included in our website x ABSCBN food crawl. Unfortunately, my boyfriend wasn't there haha :p We sampled three delicious dishes: Bicol express, kare-kare, and dinakdakan. I didn't like the Bicol express much, but the other two more than made up for it! I especially enjoyed the dinakdakan, which had a nice savory-spicy-sour mix! Great with rice, grabe! We were also given a taste of their sinigang soup, which I am excited to go back for! Hopefully with my boyfriend na hehe :)

In this post: Bagnet Kare-Kare, Bagnet Express, Dinakdakan  "Manganen!" -- it has been years since I last heard from my Ilocana grandmom this term for "Let's eat!". I was just reminded when we visited Manganen Bagnet House as one of our stops during website's Hunger Games Day 2: Marikina. Manganen Bagnet House is more of an Ilocano-inspired restaurant rather than Ilocano-origin. Nevertheless, they were able to incorporate Ilocos-famous bagnet in different Filipino classic dishes such as kare-kare, sinigang, etc. One of the things I love most in this restaurant is its interior. It has a small capacity but it is very classy and homey. It resembles the houses during the Spanish era. So Filipiniana.

From two friends who wants to fulfill their dreams; Manganen Bagnet House offers different types of dishes centered on bagnet and more bagnet!. Our third stop for the website Hunger Games was at Manganen Bagnet House. . Let us start with a trivia (from what I have learned during the event). Manganen means “to eat” in Ilokano dialect. At Ilocos, one of the delicacies there would be the bagnet. Before refrigerators and freezers came into the picture; people preserved their food via “bagnet” (bagnettin as the verb). It is done through boiling the meat first then frying it until all the moisture is gone. When it is ready to be served; it gets fried again to get that crunchy like chicharon skin and tender meat. Magic!

dined here yesterday to celebrate my daughter's graduation. i ordered 2 of her favorite dishes, sinigang and sisig. we all loved these dishes. we also had a serving of binagoongang bagnet but had to have it to go since we couldn't finish everything. my son enjoyed the meal so much that he had 2 extra servings of rice. the staff was friendly and quick to refill our glasses with iced tea.

We ordered Kare Kare and Bicol Express, both were very good (didnt need bagoong for the Kare Kare anymore cos the sauce was already flavorful) but naumay lang kami maybe because we had too much bagnet hehehe staff were also friendly and accommodating.

One of the best Filipino restos in Marikina. The dishes are on-point, from the appetizers, main entree, to the desserts and beverages. We loved their Vigan bagnet, Vigan longganisa, Binagoongan, poqui-poqui, dinakdakan, leche flan (the sweetness is just right), ube halaya (which reminded us of Christmas season), Benguet brew, and calamansi juice. The staff was also very courteous and attentive. Awesome job Manganen!
