Finally had the chance to eat here. Place was always full so we were kinda excited to eat knowing there were just a few customers. Ambience was family oriented, staff were not so accommodating during the time we ate there. Ordered krispy pata, not really superb tasting for me (mirin sauce serving wasnt enough but you can ask for a refill), also ordered pinakbet which waa yummy because the veggies were crisp, had calamares for appetizer in mayo dip ( batter was too salty, maalat na panlasa ko, just imagine what it would taste like to others. 😝 Wasnt able to order kare-kare anymore coz we didnt want to eat much (dinner time na kse). Not really a fan though I'd like to try their sisig and kare-kare again next time.

We first tried this resto in Cebu and like the food very much. It's a good thing they now expanded to metro Manila. Love their food very tasty and filling

Our favorite Filipino resto in SM Marikina, this place is always packed. Their bagnet kare kare is really good, but the sauce is quite lacking in quantity especially because the bagnet is big and can serve about 3 people. I also like their munggo, although it has gata on it. My only other issue here is that the serving time can take up to 30 minutes or more. I wouldn't suggest this place if you are very HANGRY. Other than that, it's all good.

Kuya J's Sinigang and Crispy Pata! THE BEST!!! Worth the price. Sulit na sulit ang unli rice namin ;) Madami din ang serving!Accomodating din ang mga staffs! 😬

I’ve always loved Kuya J ever since. But our experience in this branch is terrible. 1) They are using toilet tissue and you still have to roll the tissue to be able to get some. We asked them if they have table napkin or the interfolded ones, however, they just said they are not using the appropriate table napkin or interfolded napkins and the waiter said the tissue that they really use is the toilet tissue. Very wrong. 2) Served us burnt rice. We informed the waiters that they served us burnt rice, but no reaction at all. Did not even say sorry for serving burnt rice or anything. 3) Under staff. I’ve seen only 3 staff in the restaurant. 2 servers and 1 who does the cashiering. 4) Slow service (probably because they’re under staff)5) The way they talk. Maybe beacaise we have laready complained about the toilet tissue and the burnt rice. With the way they talk, it seems like we are still the ones who are wrong. I have never thought Kuya J would be like this in terms of service. I have always loved their food. But I will never come back to this branch. It’s a very disappointing experience. My expectations for Kuya J is way more than this.

It was my first time at kuya j's last night. We only ordered 2 halo halo. It took around 20 to 30 mins just to serve what we ordered. They also took the paper placemats which I find a bit rude. We are not the only one complaining about their service that time. 2 women beside us ordered for 1 halo halo and 1 palabok that also took 20 to 30 mins. I told them to follow it up because we did the same. The saba halo halo was quite good I must say but the Ube halo halo only contains ice, ube cream and around 5 pcs of i dont know if that's nata or gulaman. . I ended up sharing my halohalo ingredients to my friend's ube cream con hielo.Billing out is just as bad as ordering your food. Took us so long to ask for the bill.I dont recommend going here. I am sure there are a lot of halo halo stores around with better services and food quality.

The food we sampled passed my family's standards: the pancit was delicious especially the noodle: perfectly aldente; crispy pata was tasty; pork sisig and pakbet equally yummy. Minor issue was the rice; it was hard and seemed not top grade. But otherwise our visit was worth it. I just can not connect the book racks. The place was not conducive to reading; what with all the noise of the customers. Probably, the books were there because it takes 20 to 25 minutes for the order to arrive.

One star because of their awful ube halo halo. The ice had waaay too much thickener, it doesn't melt anymore. No wonder it's on sale. The food was so so. I don't think I'll be coming back again.

We've been waiting outside for 20+mins. We were next in line. Yet someone was able to sit ahead of us. There was only a few customers in, and yet they can't even serve fast enough to cater to all the customers. Lastly, DON'T offer advance orders if there's no one to take it. AGAIN...YOUR SERVICE SUCKS! DON'T HEAT HERE.
