I will definitely be back for more! The Tonkotsu Ramen was amazingly done and the service was excellent. Being away from my hometown at Tokyo, brings me more to Japanese restaurants here in Manila and Hikojyu brought me back to Japan once more.

If you like to experience an authentic Japanese home cooked meal, you must try Hikojyu Japanese restaurant, the food are simple but full of flavor the way a Japanese household will prepare.The menu are simple because the owner and cooks Rei and Tess Sekiguchi want to keep the flavors of their food as close as the way they prepared in their home in Japan, as almost all their ingredients except for the produce and vegetables are all imported from Japan, even to their salt and pepper and numerous condiments.Their gyoza is one of their best seller... its handmade to perfection and i promise you one order is not enough.They only have 2 flavors of Ramen shoyu and tonkotsu ramen and both are as delicious.If you have a big appetite you must try their bento box, tonakatsu, or chicken teriyaki served with gyoza, potato salad, shredded cabbage and rice, it cones with your choice of iced tea or miso soup.If you want rice topping, their katsudon is the best and of course the katsu curry if you like some little kick you can even request to make it more spicy.The place is very simple, no hipster decoration, the place is clean and cozy and the owners are very accomodating they can even give you tips on places to go if you are planning a trip Japan.

For my family and I, Hikojyu is like our second home. We are regulars. Their food is simply our comfort food. They are authentic. Ingredients are from Japan and the meals are very hearty. Best of all, the service is personal and top notch. Try their best sellers: Tonkotsu ramen, gyoza and katsudon. You will surely comeback for more.

Masarap yung mga katsu nila pero masyadong tita mode yung may-ari. Awkward tuloy for introverts. Food is good for the price. Maganda palate/taste nung nagluluto, flavorful pero may home-cook vibe. Mejo halatang hindi fresh yung karaage though (makunat) pero puwede na rin for the price. Deserves a visit pero kung introvert ugali mo, good luck.

Ako yung tipo ng taong mahilig sa ramen. Nung nakita ko to kasama pa non yung ex-boyfriend ko (yes... sya lagi kasama ko sa foodtrips ko), akala namin hindi sya okay. Bakit kamo? kasi sa malayo palang di sya mukhang ramen house tapos parang wala laging tao. Pero nung pumasok kami at nagorder, dumating yung inorder namin na gyoza at chasu ramen pti shoyu ramen.... Abaaaaa!!!! napakasarap pala. Simple lang lahat pero napakasarap. At ang maganda dito.... Japanese national na nakapagasawa ng Filipina ang nagluto ng inorder namin 😉😀 no wonder kaya masarap. Oo di sya napupuno kasi tuwing 5pm ang bukas ng ramen house na to. Simple lang ang loob pero ang importante yung food nila na masarap 😉 Technique sa pagkain pala ng gyoza nila, lagyan mo sya ng chili sesame oil ata yung tawag dun at saka mo isawsaw sa soysauce (mas enjoy kainin yung gyoza pag ganon. tinuro mismo nung may-ari)
