If you need a quiet place to be in with good coffee in hand, Ground and Brew is the place for you! For a cheap price of 80Php for French-pressed coffee, you definitely get the bang for your buck. Although the tuna in their tuna pesto didn't taste quite fresh, I have to say that I enjoyed it. The staff are nice and accommodating.

+ Design: An Instagram worthy place because of the high ceiling and woodwork.- Furniture: If you're using the couch, the foam is too soft so you'd sink. So the elbow height to table ratio is not ergonomically appropriate. Bad for your posture whether you're eating or working.+ Service: The water glass is frequently refilled and rarely do you need to prompt the servers. The second time I ordered French press coffee I went to the counter and asked if  they get the hot water from the espresso maker. One of the attendants pointed to the coffee air pot. Then I said the water in the French press wasn't hot. So someone went to my table and replaced my order. Good job.+ Restroom: Although you have to go out of the establishment, lavatory is stocked with TPs, liquid hand soap and a scented oil burner.- Room for improvement: Mosquitoes hovering inside the establishment. Seems like this pest issue is not being addressed because someone else has called it out.-+ Food: I ordered Country Breakfast and chose bacon and scrambled eggs. The eggs were nicely done, it wasn't stiff and dry yet there wasn't any wobbly albumen. It could use a bit of pepper though. I didn't like the butter because it didn't smell like butter, it could either be butter compound or margarine (Magnolia Baker's Best). It put a damper on the taste experience. I had Marinara with Pan Fried Cream Dory for dinner. My bone of contention with most Filipino-owned restaurants that serve pasta are 1) too much sauce and 2) over cooked noodles and my order had both. However, the sauce was tasty and not sweet (another Filipino preference). Love the piquant capers. The downer was the fish that was too salty I had to wince and gulp water after each piece. Normally I don't waste food but I couldn't force myself to eat the last piece of fish, which also smelled fishy (pun intended). Ordering cream dory is a risk because it is not fresh but frozen, which means it could have been thawed and refrozen several times or nuked instead of properly thawed. Fresh fish or properly thawed frozen fish should have a faint smell of breezy sea and ironically, not smell fishy. Will I return? Yes, because food price is reasonable, the place is quiet enough to enjoy reading, have a meeting or concentrate on work or study.

Service was fast. Crew was corteous. Love their frappes here! We ordered nutella frappe and white chocolate mocha :) the place is cozy and when it comes to the price it is affordable and worth it.

I found this cute little cafe after I ate at another restaurant nearby (Tiyo's Cuisine). We decided to try it out and didn't regret that decision at all.The ambiance is nice and cozy. It's the perfect place to study or to catch up with friends because during the time that we went, there was only one other group of people aside from us. :)We tried out their French Press Coffee (P 80), (which is already good for two, by the way!! What a bargain) and their Frozen Caramel Ice Blended Coffee(P 120). We did not order food because we were still full. The drinks tasted good - they are also cheaper than similar drinks in other establishments. I did not regret coming here and I had a good time here.Service was great. They are attentive and friendly. :) The only thing I did not like was the fact that I was itching most of the time because there were a few mosquitoes even though we were inside. I was wearing a dress so I guess a tip is for you to wear pants in case. Hahaha!Other than that, it's a really cute cafe worth visiting. :)

Best place to work/study in Marikina! It's quiet and cozy, power outlets are available, and for the best part, they have yummy but cheap coffee! Next best, I would say, is the white chocolate sans rival although it is not always available.
