The third stop of our website x ABS-CBN Marikina food crawl was supposed to be this well-loved ribs place but due to heavy rainfall, we had to make sudden changes and headed straight to the only Japanese restaurant on the list. And that’s Fukurou Nihonryori. . Hello, Fukurou Nihonryori!. Almost everyone in the group was excited to this stop as the gloomy Saturday afternoon screams for some hot bowl of ramen. However, I was not so thrilled with this stop especially when M and R mentioned that this place serves below average dishes. But hey, they might have improved. Let’s give it the benefit of the doubt.

Decent food if you're craving for Japanese food. Place is clean with nice service. I ordered a bowl of chicken terriyaki and it did not disappoint...serving is quite small though.

Ordered ebi tempura & rice for take out. Paid 216 pesos for the meal. There were 4 pieces of shrimp tempura which looked so limp and uninviting to eat. So much different from the photo which was on their menu. Service and ambiance was pretty good. Overall giving them a 3.5 cause I am a disappointed with the food & also they did not have plastic spoon & fork for take out items only chopsticks.

Ordered a tonkatsu bento and a sushi and sashimi platter. The tonkatsu was fried perfectly. It's not way to fried, but as they say, it's golden brown. The salmon and the tuna sashimi really tasted fresh. The downside is, for me, they are cut really thin - like paper thin. I really like to be able to bite on my fish. That way, you would be able to better savor its taste. The sushi are ok as well. The place is clean, with soft music playing. The staff look trained and are ready to take your requests (from iced water to a pair of chopsticks to a refill of the light soy sauce), and are prompt in doing so.For a bill of 406 PHP, this is a must try for those who love japanese cuisine but are on a tight budget.

I love Japanese food but sad to say, this is not one of those Japanese places that I would go back to often. To be fair, this is a fairly new resto and there's plenty of room for improvement. When we went there, the owner of the resto was busy manning the operations. She seemed very pleasant and is obviously showing a good example to her crew. We ordered an ordinary set of tonkatsu bento and it was OK to say the least. It wasn't spectacular enough to give a lasting impression but it was not that bad to deserve a negative review. It comes with a free small glass of iced tea which actually made you appreciate water even more.  I might go back to this place some day and I hope to see a lot of improvements when that time comes.

The food is great👍👍... Ambiance is simple but perfect! Wifi available, another good point! Slow service in food preparation, have to improve this. But all in all, great! Congratulations!👍👍

    - Gyoza we ordered was too oily & tasted more like siomai.- The katsu & gyudon tasted normal. Nothing special. - Resto owners were there during our visit & they walked around too much.- Ambience is not really that "Japanese"

October 1, 2016 SaturdayHad lunch here today and ordered california maki, ebi tempura, gyudon, gyoza and shoyu ramen. The ramen and the gyudon still tasted as good as how they did the first time we visited this place.Everything else that we had was a bit disappointing.California Maki - tasted like the ones you buy from SM when you're on the go and you just want your craving satisfiedTempura with rice - Just 2 shrimps? Upon slicing the "shrimp", a crab stick said hello to us. So they weren't tempura at all. They were deep fried battered crab sticks with a tail. LolGyoza - i dont know, i only tasted ginger in it.To sum it up, both the quality of the food and the serving size has become bad. Sayang, bumalik pa naman kami after a few months.
