The third stop of our website x ABS-CBN Marikina food crawl was supposed to be this well-loved ribs place but due to heavy rainfall, we had to make sudden changes and headed straight to the only Japanese restaurant on the list. And that’s Fukurou Nihonryori. . Hello, Fukurou Nihonryori!. Almost everyone in the group was excited to this stop as the gloomy Saturday afternoon screams for some hot bowl of ramen. However, I was not so thrilled with this stop especially when M and R mentioned that this place serves below average dishes. But hey, they might have improved. Let’s give it the benefit of the doubt.

Decent food if you're craving for Japanese food. Place is clean with nice service. I ordered a bowl of chicken terriyaki and it did not disappoint...serving is quite small though.

Ordered ebi tempura & rice for take out. Paid 216 pesos for the meal. There were 4 pieces of shrimp tempura which looked so limp and uninviting to eat. So much different from the photo which was on their menu. Service and ambiance was pretty good. Overall giving them a 3.5 cause I am a disappointed with the food & also they did not have plastic spoon & fork for take out items only chopsticks.

Ordered a tonkatsu bento and a sushi and sashimi platter. The tonkatsu was fried perfectly. It's not way to fried, but as they say, it's golden brown. The salmon and the tuna sashimi really tasted fresh. The downside is, for me, they are cut really thin - like paper thin. I really like to be able to bite on my fish. That way, you would be able to better savor its taste. The sushi are ok as well. The place is clean, with soft music playing. The staff look trained and are ready to take your requests (from iced water to a pair of chopsticks to a refill of the light soy sauce), and are prompt in doing so.For a bill of 406 PHP, this is a must try for those who love japanese cuisine but are on a tight budget.
