Because we already had a pre-Mother's Day dinner at home last Saturday (will post that on the blog soon), our family celebrated Mother's Day yesterday by having some lunch out. After hearing mass at SM Marikina, we started to scout for a restaurant for our lunch. We wanted to already have a table reserved, because we know that every restaurant will be packed with families also celebrating Mother's Day.We all agreed to celebrate it by having a boodle feast at Seafood Island. Mark and I already tried one of their boodles in their Cubao branch and we both enjoyed it so I was pretty sure that my family will also enjoy it here.We weren't allowed to make a reservation or have some advance order, so we just said if they could place us on top of the waiting list. The staff that we talked to was still hesitant but eventually agreed when Daddy guaranteed that she can just drop the name off the list if we don't come by noon.We did some shopping and got back to the restaurant before lunch time, 10 minutes before noon to be specific. The place was already packed when we arrived and there wasn't any available table for us. Apparently, the staff manning the waiting list crossed our reservation out.We already placed our orders while waiting for a table. We were told that our orders would take around 10-15 minutes to be served. Good thing a family was already done with their lunch so we were able to score their table a few minutes after. One of the staff wiped  the table but left it all wet, so we still had to wipe it with tissues. Strike two! The manager saw what we're doing that he immediately called someone to dry our table.Another staff (different from the one who took down our orders) came to "confirm" our order for the drinks. Well he didn't really "confirm" because he had nothing written on his paper, so my sister just had to repeat our orders for him. Strike three! We ordered for 3 fresh buko juice, 1 mango shake, 1 mango juice, and 1 Pepsi. Our drinks were served, except for the buko juice, shortly after.50 minutes had already passed but none of our other orders were coming and Daddy was already getting pissed. A few minutes after, the same guy who "confirmed" our drinks came to us and told us that the buko juice is not available. Strike four! Daddy started to get mad especially when he noticed that the table in front of us were served with fresh buko juice. The staff then said that they ran out of fresh buko and that the family was able to get some because they placed an advance order! I thought advanced orders are not allowed? Strike five! This really made Daddy soooo furious.Their manager already noticed how we were already not liking what's happening that he approached our table even before Daddy called for his attention. He was very apologetic upon knowing what had transpired and ordered his staff to bring out some appetizers to somehow ease our "hangry" (hungry and angry) tummies. Two plates of complimentary shrimp crackers were brought to us, which we immediately devoured because we were really that hungry. The manager never left our table as he still continued to apologize to my dad. We just replaced the buko juice with iced tea, which was served shortly after the appetizers were served.

Serving is a bit inadequate for the price but the taste is good. i recommend crispy pork binagoongan. Sisig bagnet is kinda dry and hard to chew.

Another resto which offers a boodle fight on its menu. I didn't enjoy much of this type of variants on the dish. The garlic rice may be plenty but the viands are few in quantity. I think quality is compromised. The fish is small and may only be shared by 2. The squid is rubbery in texture. The crab is small and few in quantity. Thought i like the beef strips (balbakwa), the anchovies, and the clam soup. They run out of desserts! If i will go back, maybe Ill choose other stuffs in the menu.

Stoked with the idea of boodle, tried this place expectant that it would deliver a fun dining experience for me and my family. However, it was extremely disappointing. I cant believe that after trying out a lot of what this place has to offer (including their Mt. Apo Boodle), not a single dish stood out for me except their ensaladang mangga. Place was too crowded and dirty, servers were a bit clumsy, presentation was mediocre and serving/taste aint worth its price. Points go to our wait staff who was friendly and attentive, plus the restaurant's attempt to satisfy customers with its boodle option although the food just didnt work out for me.

Masarap yung mga food. yung mga service crew is friendly and approachable. Malinis at maganda yung ambiance ng restaurant. Masarap mag boodle fight haha. Inorder kasi namin is boodle feast na meaty madness at garlic seafood delight.

We arrived at SM City Marikina around 10:15 a.m. and headed to this Seafood Island outlet. A male staff was busy sweeping outside and we noticed two lady staff inside preoccupied with something else. We didn't get any welcome greetings from anyone of them, not even a "Hi" or "Hello". We felt invisible! and ignored!!!! Anyway, we made ourselves busy looking at their board menu outside, thinking they were still closed. Until we asked the sweating gentleman inside the bar. Looking embarrassed he replied "Actually open na po pero hinihintay lang yung mga tao."(Actually we're already open, just waiting for some people.) We told him we'd come back, so we left (to save him some face from further embarrassment). After about an hour, we went back to have lunch. We liked the decor. The place projected an island beach theme sans the heat of the sun. We previously were able to try their Boodle meals from a different mall, which were meant for groups of 3 or more, and we enjoyed it. This time, we ordered their Hot Plate Bangus Sisig and some rice which was enough for 2 not-so-hungry persons. Gladly, the sizzling dish was very good. The deboned chunks of bangus which tasted fresh, were enhanced by mild spiciness and bits of green and red bell pepper and caramelized onions. Kenneth, our server, has been very prompt in serving our food. We just hope they correct some tardiness issues among their staff because it can adversely affect their business and customer service.

My mom and I had lunch for the 2nd time since 4 years ago. Their service have not improved. The male staff who waited on us was not helpful while we were choosing our orders considering there were only a few of us. It took for another staff to do so. Also, I had to repeat my request 3 x about taking out our left overs. Not so keen on coming back. Maybe we'll try another branch.

Food is nice although customer service is not that great. Also their washing area is quite messy. But, I like the boodle set. Overall, I was satisfied with the food.

Not satisfied..their service is not good. The food is not also good,we ordered a boodle worth 995,as stated in their menu it is good for 3-4 person but actually its only good for 2.The seafood is ok but the pork 👎 its not yet cook, parang nag chew ka ng bubble gum.Not worth it !Plus the time we wasted for waiting our order for almost 15-20 min. 👊The place is hot and messy.Definitely not coming back.. 👎👎👎P.SMukha lang marami sa pic pero hindi. 👊

After an afternoon of running on a treadmill and smartphone shopping, we decided against going to Lilac Street in favor of having dinner at a restaurant here at SM City Marikina. We ordered the Boracay Feast and the Sinigang na Baboy. The dilis rice was abundant, but everything else tasted bland. Even the shrimp paste was timid in flavor. The sinigang was no better. If you prefer quantity over quality, then I guess you'll enjoy dining here.
