There’s nothing grand about their food. Although it tastes good. Their menu is much pricey (talking about servings) than Tokyo Tokyo. The place is small.

I ordered the PORK KATSU CURRY DON, the taste is not bad but I don't recommend it.My sister ordered the BEEF TERIYAKI DON which taste amazing, I recommend this dish. The beef is soft, the sauce is perfectly made.My younger sister ordered the CHICKEN TERIYAKI DON, it taste good; the chicken is tender. We ordered a CALIFORNIA ROLL which surprisingly delicious. We had two plates of it! I HIGHLY recommend this, you're welcome. The fried GYOZA is pretty good too, the meat is tasty and perfectly cooked. (You can choose Steamed or Fried for your Gyoza)I recommend that you add PHP 55 (to make it a set) for a miso soup and an iced tea, it's worth it. (You can choose lemon or red iced tea) The RED ICED TEA is amazing. The service is pretty good but they don't clear your empty plates unless you're done eating.

Yasu is an affordable japanese restaurant in Robinson's Ermita. The place is small which is why it's often crowded during lunch or dinner hours. My only problem with them though is food quality is inconsistent. The first two times were okay. The 3rd time I ordered chicken katsudon again (ordered this also the 1st time I ate here) and it's not crispy and tastes bland. I just hope they make sure they're consistent with their taste and quality.

Yasu in rob place. i was strolling along the area looking for some place to eat while i'm alone. Then I saw Yasu, a very small place with only 14 tables, 1 cashier, 2 servers, 2 chefs. 2 staff is on break i think and is occupying 2 front seats with their friends.Anyway, the price is very affordable for a japanese food, the service is efficient and the chefs are very quick. I ordered for steamed gyoza 99, chicken teriyasudon with egg 149, miso soup and red iced tea is 55. Total 303. Very cheap. The portion is actually good for 2 already. I wasn't able to finish my food so I have it wrapped as well. The gyoza is fine but it is supposed to be steamed first and then fried, the taste is fine but the meat inside is very few. Chicken teriyasudon was good, not excellent only good, it is like fried chicken balls with teriyaki sauce and mayo, a little bit of cabbage inside as well. The miso soup taste delicious but doesnt have tofu in it. The red iced tea was good.Overall food taste was fine, maybe 3-3.5, but because of the price it is fair enough. It might be very small, i came alone and was the only one eating there bur after a couple of minutes it was already full. All servers are very busy now.I gave them 4 because my server was really attentive and polite. Very quick and attended to all my needs. Kudos to u girl.I might return to try the ramen so see u nxt time.

Buying groceries at Rob Ermita's supermarket is our main reason for visiting this mall, and sometimes you can get overwhelmed with the choices of eating places in here especially when you're really hungry. One of such occasions came up recently, hence we chose Yasu, which is very close to the supermarket. No time to be picky so we chose the barest of things: veggie curry for The Missus (currydon), and the salmon belly strips for me. No complaints about the food, they did get us full and functioning after all. Cheap and quick Japanese home-cooking. With that, I meant that I can cook these very same dishes at home with ingredients bought from the supermarket, but they can do it quicker, so props to them.Up: inexpensive food; quick service, clear menuDown: seating capacity/legroom

I opted to have a bowl of beef gyudon – thin strips of savory beef on top of rice. What I love most about Yasu’s gyudon is the melts-in-your-mouth texture of the beef. Unlike other Japanese restaurants that serve rubbery beef gyudon, Yasu’s version is very tender. The miso soup is too salty for my liking. Even my husband who loves anything salty thinks that this is a bit too much. The tonkatsu was just so-so. Although I appreciate that the deep-fried pork is not oily, there was nothing special about it. The sauce on the side didn’t help much at all. Between the tonkatsu and beef gyudon, my vote definitely goes to the latter.

If you are looking for affordable Japanese food you can find it here. Good value for your money. Expect to get what you pay for. But don't bother to order gyoza it will be a waste of money.

I ate here today around 1PM. On the food part, I ordered a tonkatsu (pork katsu) and I did not like it that much. It was not bad, but it wasn't good either. The sauce of the tonkatsu did not enhance the flavor at all. For me, the taste did not equate the price. On the service side, it was almost terrible. I ate alone and the guy staff who attended to me barely said anything. When he was speaking to me, he did not even give me any eye contact and he was busy looking at others' tables. He was almost like a robot. I thought that seeing I was eating alone, he would at least be more enthusiastic. I was observing the other diners and I noticed a Middle Eastern-ish diner entered. Who seemed to be the receptionist/manager gave him a big smile and almost kissed his behind just to please him. I am not sure if it was just the guy staff with the problem, but I also noticed that they barely say thank you when you pay for the food. The ambiance did not help as well. The place was small, but it reminded me of the small eateries in Japan. I did not mind it that much but it was not so pleasing as well. Unfortunately, all disappointing things happened to me on my first visit. Seeing other reviews makes me want to order the beef gyudon but knowing their poor service, I am not sure if I'll visit again. It's a shame because I LOVE Japanese food. Based on my experience, this is my quick review.Food: 2/5Service: 1/5Ambiance: 3/5Value for money: 2/5
