My hubby & I had our lunch here. Loved those dimsum & yang chow fried rice. Even decided to order the same set for our kids. You can never go wrong when it comes to chinese food. Happy tummy! 😊

If you ever find yourself at the foodcourt of lucky chinatown mall, give wanchai a try. This place serves affordable chinese food that tastes great that wont break the bank.We ordered 'the usual' yang chow fried rice and sweet and sour pork. The sweet and sour pork was well fried and flavourful. The sauce had the right balance of sweet and sour. The yang chow fried rice was a little mushy. I wouldve liked my fried rice to be less sticky. What makes our meal great is the absence of that MSG-hilo feel after usually eating chinese food. 👍🏻Their dimsum cart is usually half-off for merienda between 2-5. A basket of dimsum costs just 47! Win.

Came with a big group during lunch time and the staff at Wang Chai were very accommodating. This was my first time eating from this place and it was a pretty pleasant experience. The food arrived on time, nothing was missing, there were enough utensils, table napkins, etc. They also gave us free tea and soup.Among my favorites: Fried Squid with Salt and Pepper - it was amazing and undoubtedly the best I've ever had; The Butter Chicken was nice and crispy; The Fish Fillet with White Sauce had garlic in it which was a great addition; The Chopsuey was very tasty and the vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the HK iced tea was the perfect beverage to wash down everything we ate. All in all, if you're looking for cheap, decent Chinese restaurant, especially for lunch, Wan Chai is definitely a place to consider. Prices are reasonable and they give you a good amount of food for what you pay for. Definitely coming back!

GREAT FOOD 👍🏻👍🏻BAD SERVICE 😭😭Everything was super good. Especially the dumplings! Legit Chinese dishes! The containers are appealing. I like the thing that you need to get it on your own fresh from steamer. 💪🏼 like a boss! Slow service, they forgot the dumplings that we were requesting.. Nontheless it was perfect! ✌🏼️

This is my fave resto in Ongpin! Me and my friends' go-to restaurant whenever we want some quick and cheap chinese food fix, not mention, super yummy!!We had our lunch here last Saturday after attending a friend's kids' kumpil. We immediately placed our orders as we were seated and got everything on Large size. Because it we have dine here a couple of times already, we would usually get the "large" size which is good for 4-5 persons. I dont know what happened, if they changed their serving sizes or if we were getting the medium size before and we just thought it was large. The orders came in HUGE servings. One large order is good for about 7-8 persons. We were 4 adults and 3 kids. So imagine how full our table was. Hahaha! We were all like, oh my how are we going to finish these!Prior to our mains, we ordered some dimsums like hakaw, sharksfin, shrimp siomai, japanese siomai and kuchay, which got us a little warmed up already. And comes the huge plates of main. Lol. We got our fave Dragon Ball, Sweet & Sour pork, Salt & Pepper squid, Crispy Toasted Noodles, Crab and Corn soup and 2 orders of Yang Chow rice. Everything is soooo good as usual!! The kids loved the squid, they almost finished the whole plate. We consumed only half of the food as we were all overwhelmed. LolWould love to go back with my family next time. One thing's for sure then, walang matitira if im with them! 😂

Poor service. Food isn't great. They are serving us food that we didn't ordered. It took us almost an hour before the sweet & sour arrives. You have to wait before you can even seat.

Where else in Metro Manila could you find an authentic yet inexpensive Chinese restaurant? Of course, Ongpin, Binondo will always be the go-to place for Chinese foodies!I've wanted to visit Binondo for a long time now but had no chance since I was busy with work and it's quite far from where I live. "Hassle" they say, but because I have to meet someone for work near the area, I got the chance to visit Binondo again! The restaurant that came to my mind is Wan Chai Tea House in Benavidez St., Binondo Manila. For all we know, Chinese restaurants in Binondo are not fancy looking restaurants like the ones we see inside the mall. It’s not for people who prefer a fancy set-up. I ordered my forever favorite, hakaw, taro balls and of course, fried dumplings. For the record they have the best tasting and affordable dimsum! Their sweet and sour pork is nothing special. But mind you, you can share it with a friend! They have big serving in a very affordable price.Just a tip, I just heard from a Chinese friend that some restaurants in Binondo have a 50% discount for dimsum after 9PM.For this particular review, i give 4 out of 5 to Wan Chai tea house for a very delicious early dinner! Wan Chai tea house will still be on my top 5! One thing is for sure, I definitely would love to come back for more!

Decided to have my late dinner here the other night. One of the original here in Binondo, a must try for foreign people if they are in the vicinity. Saw a couple of foreign dining here to try out some Chinese cuisines. Luckily, their dimsum promo is back, but only during weekdays for only Php47.00 you get to choose at some of their dimsum offerings. Since I haven’t eaten dinner yet I ordered their Lemon Chicken Rice which cost around Php145.00 it comes with a drink and (1) piece Buchi for dessert. Everything was ok since I often eat here back in the days when I was still studying. They kind of renovated the place and revamp their menu and was also shocked to see the price go up unlike before.

We used EnSoGo weekday lunch vouchers that included unli dim sum. While the service was at times overbearing, they also didn't mention which items we could select from. For example, without asking, they brought us the black gulaman drink whereas I preferred the almond jelly, which was the other option. The dim sum variety and quality was decent but nothing special. Baskets are already out on display so that you can just pick and choose. The siomai was a bit sour. (Been out too long?)The shrimp wonton soup was at the proper temperature (not overly hot) with a generous amount of garlic bits. Unfortunately, the included garlic fried rice--which was actually quite delicious--and the corn egg drop soup arrived unacceptably late (the restaurant wasn't jam-packed) that we really didn't get to enjoy them anymore.
