This japanese restaurant is located outside the mall and sandwiched in between Starbucks and Cafe Breton. I was immensely curious about their cheese ramen since I'm a hardcore fan of the two things so I ordered one Marukyuu Cheese Ramen along with a side order of their gyoza. Good thing I was dining with my sister as the flavor of the ramen was not exactly what I had mind. Dunno if it was the fact that we got the basic without any toppings that made it too 'umay' for me. Probably the most accurate way to describe the taste is to imagine the pork tonkotsu broth mixed with milk and cheese. 😬 The taste was not for us but it could be a hit for kids or people who doesn't like the umami taste. I suggest to order the solo bowl for first timers and maybe add a topping or two for added taste. Their gyoza is good but nothing special and a bit on the oily side. I'll try their more classic ramen flavors next time and those could be more to my liking.👌

I've eaten a lot of times here and this is just one of our go-to places for those Ramen-kinda days. They serve authentic Ramen noodles and the price is a steal. Cheap drinks. Servers are always nice and accomodating. Also, their bathroom is so clean and aesthetic. 😂

Tried Tsukumo ramen which was amazing - noodles were cooked perfectly and broth was full of flavor. Restaurant is very clean. Staff are knowledgeable, attentive, energetic, and friendly. Will definitely go back.

We ordered Miso Ramen,Tonkotsu Ramen,Cheese Ramen and Cheese&Chasu Donut Croquette. All the orders of Ramen had large serving and all are tasty and packed with toppings. The donut croquette is delicious as well, with the gooey cheese and meat in the croquette. However,my cousin wasn't able to finish her order and she isn't allowed to take out her leftover (you should really go there hungry).

I guess the only way I can describe this place is through one word: weird. The cheese and tomato and cheese Ramens (their specialties) just tasted a bit too weird for my liking. The ramen noodles were also spaghetti noodles-- something I really found weird. Their staff's overly friendly, too. One waitress kept on calling us "anak". I didn't mind, but it just seemed off in a restaurant setting. Not sure if I'd go back here again. I'm not even sure how I feel about this place haha.

Righ before i went to the basement parking, I saw this newly opened ramen house beside Cafe breton. I love the interiors of this ramen house, its cozy. The washroom's clean too which is a + points. The staff we're very accomodating as well. Going on to the food, Im happy they have Shoyu ramen on their menu and ofcourse, gyoza 😍. While waiting for our food to serve, I curiously asked their waiter if there are other branches of this ramen house in the PH and he told me that it's their 1st restau. Some of their chefs are native japanese so I have no doubt that they'll serve us a legit ramen 😁The soy based soup is just perfect for Shoyu, the chashu however is not as tasty than that of the RYU but its good. Gyoza was steamed fried and tasted like the usual gyoza. The soup spoon for their ramen is humongous! I don't know maybe its for sharing and you have to request for a soup spoon I guess? Haha. It's a lil bit pricey but I think it's worth it 😉

TSUKUMO RAMENRobinsons Malate#lateuploadSince it was my birthday, we tried another newly opened Japanese restaurant in Malate. From a far, you could see the colorful bowl decorations which can also be seen in the kitchen and are used to serve their ramens. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the staffs with their loud voices, bowed heads and Japanese words. We were seated in a somewhat a cubicle like seats which gave us a little privacy, unlike the tables at the middle of the restaurant. Menu was presented to us, and some meals are quite not familiar, its like a fusion of ramen and new twists. We were a little bit hesitant so we just ordered the following:#CHEESERAMEN hmmm the noodles are quite soggy, its like the usual instant noodles that we have at home just a little bit fatter. It was mixed with a lot of CHEESE, corn kernels and fries. Amazing isn't it? It was their best seller, they said, but I did not quite loved it, but since we love cheese, then it can be fine for child at heart like us. Too expensive for a bowl of ramen.#GYOZA the typical gyoza, the plating is so plain, just the gyoza on the plate. No food presentation at all, disappointing but we tried to check the taste, and it is the typical gyoza. and I'm quite not sure if it was burnt or it was grilled..#ONIGIRI flavored rice with cheese on top,it was like risotto? you can put your soup into it to add additional flavor. Quite expensive for a very little serving. #DONUTCROQUETTE #PORKBELLYDONUT this little donut made our table turn. I recommend this flavorful unique first ever pork donut that I ever tasted and encountered. The ambiance is good. The service is very good. The dishes are overprice against the taste.Since it is their soft opening, improvements will eventually be done.

My friend and I had lunch here today because we wanted to try a new ramen place, and it's only too bad that they're not in a good location (there's a huge post blocking the place). The food's pretty good (although I'm not the best judge when it comes to ramen) - their cheese ramen is good for two, and the gouda cheese provides for a unique twist to your ordinary ramen. I wish they added a bit of pork though. Although my favorite would have to be their crispy gyoza. Will definitely come back for the gyoza!

RAMEN WARS REVIEW: Cheese Ramen? It's been a while since I've managed to try out any new Ramen restaurants, so I was excited after learning that Tsukumo had finally opened in Robinson's Manila. My tummy grumbled even more after finding out that their specialty dishes were along the lines of Cheese Ramen and a "Tomato-Soup"-like Ramen. Unfortunately though, I did not end up trying either of these for my first time.Design-wise, the place is much smaller than it looks from the outside but has a seating capacity of about 40 patrons. The design is what you would see in most Ramen joints nowadays.Service-wise, the staff greet you when you enter and leave as most other places. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable with the dishes. What was nice was that when our food was served, it was the Japanese chef that brought it over.Food-wise, I was not feeling adventurous enough to try their Cheese/Tomato based Ramen bowls but did note for next time that they have "Solo/Half" orders for P250 as opposed to their original P495 prices.Shoyu Ramen (P375)The broth was in between thick and light. The soy base was less prominent than other Shoyu bowls I have had but it was enjoyable. The chashu was very tender to the point that it broke apart in the bowl before even being picked up - this could be a pro or con depending on the diner. The noodles were al dente but I did not really like the spaghetti-like quality to them. The bowl also came with the usual nori, bamboo shoots and some other green vegetables - the latter I found a bit out of place because they tasted watery.Shio Ramen (P375)My sister got this and it had all the same ingredients as the Shoyu. The broth of course was a salt-based one, but after trying it - I found it a bit too milky for my liking. I personally think after a while, the taste would get a bit bland.Gyoza (P195)*I don't remember the exact price. I read in reviews that their gyoza was a "must try" but when it arrived, it was a bit disappointing. The pieces looked very oily and stuck together, the taste was alright. I've had much better versions in other Japanese restaurants.Mango Shaved Ice (P200)*Also not sure of the price of this, but we got one order. It was like a large "granita" with mango and some sweet milk mixed in. The dessert looked impressive but was very difficult to eat with our tiny spoons. We had asked for bowls because the ice kept falling everywhere. It was good for a one-time try and too messy to ever order again.Over-all, I am giving this establishment a 3.5 for the dishes we tried, which I found quite ordinary. I will definitely come back to try their specialty Ramen's another time though and I do hope that they are more note-worthy.

We happened to order their shaved ice, the one with mango syrup and the other one with cocoa dusting because it looks very appetizing but got disappointed with it. We chose this in spite of starbucks... Very very much DISAPPOINTED for the choice we made. For the price of 200php each you will just taste the melting ice (water) and hint of the flavor. It is very delicate because the ice is too fine that's why you almost taste nothing. It is not worth a penny. If you want something cold try tokyo tokyo's caramel snow ice for only 109 it will satisfy your cravings for sweet and cold dessert.
