The Salted Caramel Cake was an instant crowd favorite! We just can't get enough of it. Well, it's because it's a MiniCake. 😭 Pretty hard to share among the table because you can easily devour one for yourself. 😁 Have to warn you it's pretty sweet though.

The LJC Group of Restaurants launches 3" news dishes for The LJC Festival of Flavors as a tribute to the founder behind the success of Cafe Adriatico, Bistro Remedios, Cafe Havana, Fely J's Kitchen, Abe, Lorenzo's Way, Polka Dot and Larry's Cafe & Bar, LARRY J. CRUZ.🍰Salted Caramel Cake - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5"To die for. I like the sweetness of the cake paired with black coffee."#ilovetoeatph 😃❤️

If you get to pass by Adriatico Malate and you are looking for a fun cool place to hang out for dessert, better head to The Polka Dot Bakeshop. The bakeshop for the LJC Group of restos (i.e. Abe's, Cafe Adriatico, Fely Js etc), Polka Dot Bakeshop has simply irresitible line of desserts paired with some savory items in the menu like ramen and rice plates. We got to try the Salted Caramel cake. It's just a mini-cake good for probably 2 persons but just enough for a sweet-loving boodle bear. A light creamy frosting "hugs" the vanilla sponge cake layers then the accents of salted caramel offers a balance of saltiness and sweet nutty taste of brown sugar.Try their ensaimada! Their version is more doughy than others. They recommend that you zap it in the microwave over for 10 seconds to warm up the inside then toast it in an oven toaster to caramelize the sugars, melt the butter and cheese.

Polka dot is the latest addition to the ever growing number of concept restaurants of the LJC group. It is LJCs foray into the every competitive arena of baked confections. Located right in front of Bistro Remedios, one would not be quick to associate the concept with the LJC brand, because of the market that it is trying to attract. We ordered the the salted caramel cake and the yuki mousse cake. The salted caramel cake was the highlight of our dessert, it was everything what the name suggests, salty, sweet in a buttery infusion that perfectly encapsulates the soft and most sponge cake. The yuki mousse cake was a unique experience, I didn’t realize how heavy it was until my first spoonful. The unique thing about it was that you get hit by an addictive milky aftertaste as you begin to chew it’s decadence. The best part here is that it’s relatively inexpensive for the type of desserts they serve which makes it well worth the travel.

Oh my…am I in cake heaven? Haha. This is one of the new ventures of the LJC Group but it has been with them for years now. They only decided in 2015 to finally set up a section for this. Aside from their delectable sweets, they also serve meals. But if you must, do have their cakes here. Below are the ones we’ve tasted that day. 🙂

Polka Dot Bakeshop is a place where you will enjoy a morning or a late afternoon snack. Also, if you’re having a celebration, I highly suggest you go to this place as they have different cakes to cater all occasions. Located in Adriatico, Malate, this building isn’t hard to miss. With cozy and relaxing ambiance, this is where I will enjoy reading a book with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake.

A quaint Japanese neighborhood bakeshop inspired by the LJC group.  Good and solid cake selection and quick pre-pack lunch meals, but the one item that I will drive all the way from BGC to Malate would be their EMPANADAS! (all CAPS for emphasis).

First time to try anything from this bakeshop. I was clueless than this was part of the LJC restaurant group too. We were gifted a box of 6 ensaymadas to take home and try with our loved ones. The bread was fluffy, very buttery, and the cheese was just undeniably delicious. Felt like Christmas already because of this queso de bola toppings on my ensaymada. Tried it cold, brought it to the office, also tried ot warmed up in the toaster with freshly brewed coffee. I can't wait to get back to Manila and purchase more from ensaymada from Polka Dot Bakeshop!

The Polka Dot bake shop is part of the LJC group, they serve delicious cakes, pastries, and in our opinion the best empanada. Try their chicken empanada, as well as, their ensaymada. All the baked items from their restaurants also come from here. Aside from that, they also serve casual quick meals such as ramen and rice bowls.
