Nice and cool ambiance. The millionaires salad is a must order. It's not on the menu but you can order it. As for the sides, go for the potato gratin.

The Fireplace, the go-to high-end venue for corporate functions and special occasions with loved ones, debunks its usual perception of being too expensive and unapproachable. Guests can enjoy their competitively priced dishes without comprised taste and quality. Plus, The Fireplace gives an excuse for anyone to indulge one’s self on a Monday and a Sunday with their two new promotions that are valid until March 2017.

Every Monday, the Fireplace offers all-you-can-eat Fireplace signature burger without the foie gras. One is still a winner with the burger, though! The thick premium all-beef patty used is cooked at Fireplace's beech oven which uses Ipil-Ipil wood. It is then topped with "over easy" quail eggs which have more nutritional benefits over a chicken egg. The two ingredients mentioned rest with a lettuce leaf on a soft brioche bun flavored with spreads of truffle mayo and onion jam.It is served with a one-time serving of medium-cut fries that is crisp to perfection. As if that wasn't enough, they coupled the offer with limitless beer bottles. Choices include San Miguel Pale Pilsen, San Mig Light, or Kalinga Kosch, a local craft beer.Burger and beer lovers can avail this sweet deal for PHP 1, 700 net (or 34 USD). My recommendation is to pair Kalinga Kosch, which has a light taste and a hint of fruity flavor, with the rich tasting burger. If burger and beer are not your preference, you can visit The Fireplace on Sunday nights. They offer free-flowing premium wine from their curated wine library. It can be enjoyed with unlimited succulent ribs smoked and braised until it's fall-of-the-bone tender. Served with coleslaw, the treat can be availed for PHP 2, 500 net (or 50 USD).

I love The Fireplace, the signature steakhouse of the five-star New World Manila Bay Hotel in Malate. The dim-lit classy grillroom has leather furniture, and a two-level wine library. It is an elegant restaurant for intimate dates or family celebrations as it combines a steak menu with a full wine list. They have friendly staff, and great high end gourmet to top it off. They served us complimentary bread as soon as we were settled. After serving drinks, the soup and appetizer came in.The carpaccio is a good way to enjoy rare beef. The dense beef meat was sliced very thinly. I love the lean, juicy, and flavorful taste of the Australian grassfed meat.Next, came in the flank steaks. These steaks are certainly enough to satisfy the heartiest of appetites. Seasoned and then grilled over a hot fire, they were cooked up perfectly and are literally fork tender.

The Fireplace is a go-to place for gorgeous steaks. Let me say that again, STEAK – my weakness! I’m a carnivore and steak romances me all the time. At The Fireplace, you just gotta include at least one plate of steak on your order list, which is exactly what we did.The Food: Rib-eye Steak (Php 2,950)Rate: 5/5As expected, we ordered 12 oz. certified angus beef Rib-eye Steak. The simplicity of properly grilled medium rib-eye steak melted my heart with the feeling of contentment in one dish alone. I didn’t long for other dishes anymore. It was divine and romantic, just like the occasion we were celebrating.Chilean Sea Bass (Php 1,750)Rate: 4.5/5To add variety, I was compelled to choose another dish, Chilean Sea Bass. Hehe. Honestly, if you are happy with steak alone, it isn’t necessary to order another main dish. I still don’t regret trying the Chilean Sea Bass with extra juicy core that’s terrific! Glad we added this on our order list.Hot Chocolate Soup (Php 370)Rate: 4/5Following the traditional way of dining, ending with a dessert in other words, O and I shared a bowl of Hot Chocolate Soup. The vanilla ice cream scoop melted easily on top of a hot layer of chocolate brownie shell and soup. I wished for more ice cream scoop in the middle of delving into this marvellous dessert! For more details, visit my food blog!! :)

Our dinner was all about sake and saga beef.. and to tell you the truth, it was one of the BEST meals I have ever had. For those who don't know, Saga is one of the best wagyu beef in Japan, along with Kobe (which I'm sure you're familiar with) and Matzusaka Beef. What makes Saga Beef special? Well, according to JAL, "Saga Beef is a product of the rich natural environment of Saga Prefecture, nurtured lovingly by fattening farmers in its mild climate, and using the benefits of its delicious water and crisp clean air. The farmers tend their cattle with rigorous attentiveness, showering them with affection and using expert rearing techniques to ensure they feel no stress from the time they are calves."Crazy, right? Just imagine, the cows suffer no stress at all! Buti pa sila! Haha!Saga beef is ranked at A4 to A5 level, with A5 being the highest grade given to the finest beef.Aside from this beautifully marbled meat, we also got to enjoy different sake from the Saga Prefecture.Located on Japan's southern Kyushu Island, the Saga Prefecture is one of Japan's best quality sake rice-producing regions. Many of Saga's water sources have been selected as part of Japan's 100% top water sources for their mineral content and purity. The result is a sake with a terroir of rich and mellow sake that matches the comparatively heavier cuisine often encountered in southern Japan.

It's the service that takes Fireplace from good to great. Even better, since they changed from Hyatt to New World, they adjusted their prices more favorably for diners. Whereas the steak used to be in the price range of 4000-6000, now they have steaks in the 3000 level shareable between 2-3 people. Boyfriend and I had our anniversary dinner here and were super stuffed. Our bill came to around P4300. 50% off with a club epicure card made it even more affordable.Order the Chocolate Soup with cracked pepper and vanilla ice cream. It's off menu but heaven.

I find this restaurant underrated so it's kind of good in a way because it's still one of those best kept secrets in the Metro. Coming here is nice because it never gets crowded but the level of service and ambiance is 5 star. Order 5oz wagyu Rib eye grilled using ipil ipil wood so has that sweet note to it. Australian tenderloin was delicious too. I always order millionaire's salad which is not written in the menu but super satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed the signature burger too. Not a 5 star for me because lobster bisque does not taste like lobster bisque at all. Too salty and does not have the lobster flavor to it. Also Skip panna cotta bec texture and flavor was really off. Also skip short ribs as I find this just okay.
