We have been regulars and always benefit from the hotel and it's really outlets. We were a celebration of 4 on January 3 and wanted a night cap at the Tap Room. The singer was great! After the show ended, the staff aired rap music??? Really? One serverwas even dancing!

The Tap Room is, if you ask me, a cozy bar to hold out with friends following a delicious meal at Manila Hotel, or perhaps a relaxing weekend-night using them following a busy week. The crew are polite, respectful., and quick. It is a good spot to be. Fora place like Manila Hotel, the price tag on drinks is merely right.

I'm an individual guy. Thought having an early flight I'd have an early on final dinner here. I had some paperwork to learn. I sat inside, in the far corner table. The area looks similar to a stylized English bar than a geniune English pub. Apetite waitress nattily attired in a green uniform quickly brought me a menu...and nothing. I had browse the food was perhaps a bit above average and also a tad expensive, the latter a reflection to be in the Manila Hotel. The service, however, was supposedly faultess; really? All over the world an open menu means you haven't made up your brain; a closed menu up for grabs, prepared to order. The waitress never returned to take my order at all. With my reading material, I did so not mind waiting several minutes but 45--yes, 45--minutes and nothing. That's where patience will come in. I made a decision to see when my order my be studied if I didn't call out, snap my fingers, clear my throat, whatever, to draw focus on my table. The waitress did enjoy speaking with her colleagues at the bar. The bartender, you should definitely busy, had an obvious line of sight if you ask me. A whole lot worse, the manager working gave a bill to a chap to my right [5' away] and later gave menus and took the drinks order for a couple of that came in at the very least 20M when i did [less than 10' away]. He didn't come to ask if I have been taken care of, anything I needed [yeah, service], etc. For anybody old enough to keep in mind Candid Camera, I thought it had been like being on an episode to see what I'd do when nobody--waitress, bartender or manager--seemed to provide a damn about maintaining what is a four figure meal. Having got no service, the 'food' and 'value' ratings derive from others. Hmm, maybe I'm not that patient. I left after 45M.

A wasted opportunity to spending some time, thoughtful design and talk about to what it had been - probably the most famous bar in the Philippines at the turn of the final century. Imagine MacArthur there through the start of WWII, all of the great foreign and Filipinoluminaries... Each of them 'popped' in there. Here's hoping...

An extremely traditional English bar but filled with memories not merely of General MacArthur at that time but those celebrities whose photos decorate the walls. This can be a cosy spot where service is adequate, nothing more, and the meals quite descent from the amazinglypresented Club sandwich in a carved round miche to the Sharwana, Croque Monsieur or hamburger. Prices are standard because of this kind of invest Manila, however the decor and memories are worth the visit

I've visited the Tap Room before and I like the decor. I'd consider this because the only remaining historic bar in Manila. Unless I see a different one. I really like the wood walls and ceiling. And the brass fixtures at the bar. But........onanother note - Whenever we have there been the staff at the backside of the bar were really noisy. It seemed they were competing with the performer. Just very noisy. Management must do something about this. Enough time was 9 till 1030pm. I would still return back if I have the opportunity.
