I love Max’s but this branch was a total disappointment. Been to different Max’s (Cebu and Manila) and I must say we were very satisfied and happy with the food served to us. Actually there are lots of restaurants around the area but I convinced my husband to have breakfast here since I was craving for Tapsilog. My husband ordered Daing na Bangus and I had my Tapsilog. The service was quite slow even if they were not full. While hubby was enjoying his Daing na Bangus, I had a hard time chewing my Tapa. The Tapa was extremely tough that I need to spit it out. Perhaps it’s understandable if they mixed bits of soft beef cartilage into the Tapa but it was not the case. The entire portion of the serving mainly consisted of cartilage. It was not edible at all.We called the attention of one of their staff and told them about our complaint. He took my plate and brought it to their Manager on duty. The manager approached us and he told us that they will replace my Tapa. We refused their offer because we don’t have time to wait for another 15-20 minutes since we have plane to catch and we don’t want to miss our flight. We settled our bill and we went out unhappy. Definitely we will go back to Max’s but not in this branch anymore. Note: The photos I posted were from Max’s Ayala Center Cebu.

There are times that I crave for all-time Pinoy comfort food and when that calls out, one od my go-to places is Max's Restauarant. Good thing they are scatterred all over the metro so its not difficult to find a branch. So in this particular craving call, we were near the Ermita area and we came to their Remedios branch. It was early lunch time and it will soon be packed and we got a seat at a window-side area. We got their half order of the family fried chicken and the Sizzling Tofu. Can't find fault with their fried chicken as it is truly "sarap to the bone", dipped in banana ketchup with Worcestershire sauce. Yum! While the Sizzling Tofu was so much better this time around because of the absence of too much oil/butter in the sizzling plate. There was almost none this time but yet the taste was just the same. And the serving size was good for 2-3 pax for less than php 200. Winner! The aircon did not quite reach our area because it was the cornermost but it was still bearable. The scenery from our area (Baywalk and the sea) made up for it. The service staff were all busy but they still delivered great service. Kudos!

I got to try their chicken sisig the other day and I came away impressed. The taste and quality was top notch. I also tried their pork binagoongan. While I have had better, this one really tasted good.

I've been here a hundred times, I think. Max's Fried Chicken is so tempting that you would not try missing it even a single bite. It's fried to perfection. Add up their very own Kare-kare and Sinigang that are my all time favorite. Their serving is good for a family of 4. Prices are quite affordable. Definitely a must try for everyone. 👌🏻👌🏻
