    website PH and Cruising Magazine held the 15th installment of their Going Places campaign, a year long feast celebrating the 16th anniversary of Cruising Magazine.  On this occasion, we had the good fortune to try the Mabuhay Palace Chinese restaurant at the Manila Hotel.  Two Chinese chefs collaborate on the menu, which features Cantonese, Szechuan, and Beijing cuisine.

    It was a great pleasure to be invited by website for Cruising Magazine's 16th year anniversary and for their 15th best restaurant in Manila.Mabuhay Palace serves one of the best chinese (cantonese) cuisine in Manila. It probably had the best complimentary appetizer while waiting for your orders too.I love these wonton chips with honey, I could finish the whole bowl all by myself!The first food that graced our table was the famous Long Life Prawns. The prawn was so fresh you will enjoy eating it even without putting the sauce.Steamed seabass in Celery sauce was the next one. This was my favorite! "Sauce palang ulam na!" That's how I would describe it. It was so good I had to eat it slowly to really savor the taste!Braised spinach Tofu in baby abalone was very flavourful and I would also commend tge brave twist that chef created by mixing the tofu and spinach in one and still making it presentable and well cooked.To complete everything we were also given yangchow fried rice!To end and seal one great meal. Our dessert was the Salted duck egg ice cream! It reminded me of the old school ice cream that everyone enjoyed when we're still kids.Somewhat like rockyroad? But it was really good.Kudos to the chefs, staff and thank you website, Cruising Magazine - Manila Bulletin for having us.     I'd like to give a thumbs up to Manila Hotel for reinventing itself and being a "must-dine" destination in Manila.The restaurant sports avant-garde Chinese look, they took a bit of traditional and blended a few modern touches of elegance. So is the menu, which can afford to look and taste great at the same time. No wonder the place is packing a lot of customers.And just when I thought I've tried inventions and reinventions of Chinese food, the chefs at Mabuhay Palace introduces the Long Life Prawn and the Salted Egg Yolk Ice Cream. These two are just some of the dishes to try here, and two of their most well-known. Delicious!
