Beyong this food post were not part of my Binondo Foodtrip, it's just that, the places we've been to is not yet here in website, that's why I will just put reviews during my past visit in Binondo :)❤️ THE PLACE:The casual Chinese Set Up with red theme and wooden interiors. It was bit packed when we arrived but we still managed to find seats. The Place is Simple. Nothing fancy designs. Wooden table and chair, well lighted and clean.❤️ THE SERVICE:Our orders came a bit late, though I understand since there's a lot of diners that time. ❤️ THE FOOD and PRICE (forgot the price sorry! :( ) Garlic Rice - One serving is good for two. Which is sulit! Chicken Feet - Ordinary. I don't like their version. :( Noodles in 3 kinds of mushroom - This helped a lot with this rating. The noodles were good! And not overcooked. Saucy and delish just the way I like it! Good serving size too! Salt and Pepper Spareribs - Bit disappointed. Really. The meat were hard.  Not flavorful at all. Or maybe? I expected that the taste will be like North Park's version? Wintermelon Milk Tea - A bit expensive. Because the price is 95 pesos but the size of the cup were small. Twas like half of standard milk tea size. But it's okay. Why? The taste is exactly the same as Serenitea's. Swear! I was shocked that they have exact taste as Serenitea's. Cool! :D❤️ THE VERDICT:Our experience is just so-so. But still, it's nice to visit different Chinese Restaurants once in a while. :)

Beef wanton hofan separate soup or they call "nam chap wan than ho fan" in cantonese is the best plus siopao and siomai... Solve! Classic taste that the new generation still enjoys

Ling Nam has been around for more than 4 decades if I'm not mistaken. This is their first and main branch. This is one of the places where we will have breakfast after our Sunday morning jogging. Must try here are the congee, siopao, and the beef noodle soup.

Ling Nam is another popular dimsum and noodle place in Manila. The beef noodle soup here is really good. The bola-bola congee here is also good. Aside from the noodles and congee, they also have dimsums, rice meals and other dishes that you will normally find in other Chinese restaurants.

Ling Nam has been in existence since I was born. It is a quick-bite, cheap-eats kind of a restaurant. The interior gives you an old, classic feel of the Chinese-Filipino back in the pre-war era. I love their bola-bola congee because a bowl of congee has about 12 pcs of meatballs and they are delicious. My uncle from Canada was surprised to see that there are a lot of meatballs in his congee, because he was expecting to have only 4 or 5. Truly value for money. Congee is only available for breakfast and up to 830AM only, or the ration they cooked is finished, whichever comes first.Siopao and Siomai are their staples which they are famous for. They make all the ingredients from scratch, and sometimes you can see them doing it in the dining area. For siopao, they now have Bola-Bola (meatball), Asado (saucy stewed pork), Taipao (giant bola bola siopao with egg and chorizo), and Linyong (lotus cream). Siomai comes in two pieces. The meat are finely grinded and wrapped by a thin wrapper.Ling Nam is known for its noodles, and they have a lot of flavor. The most popular is beef because of its juiciness and tenderness, however, I always order the chicken mami because of its light taste. Eating at Ling Nam is always fun and filling. Although, this branch serves only those 4 kinds of dishes, I always leave happy and full. Oh, you can also buy their dried noodles and siomai wrapper where you can cook it at home and make your own version.

I tried out their second branch which is located at Lucky Chinatown Mall and still nothing beats the taste being served in the Main Branch. Their Beef Noodle Soup are the best even though the price comparison a bit high to other dimsum places still it is pretty much worth it considering the quality and taste. We arrived there last Sunday around 10AM and I was shocked to hear that all of their Congee are all sold out.

I think this is one of the oldest noodle houses in existence that have consistently offered no-frills delicious mami (noodle soup) that is a real bang for the buck. For this branch, they just offer the bare simplest of what they are known for – noodles, siomai and siopao. For my dinner, I had asado noodles with generous shredded asado pork and the put a little sweet soy on the soup and 2 pc siomai. They also do offer congee but only from 6 to 9am or until supplies last. I don’t really like congee but I find theirs really good. As with any really good authentic chinese food in Manila area, just don’t expect much on the resto’s ambiance as it looks like it has not been renovated since it was open. You really go there for the cheap good food.

One of my personal faves in the Chinatown district when it comes to noodle craze. Noodles are firm and I dunno but I like bland soups so I could add pepper and all sorts of condiments (according to preferred taste). Don't forget to add a siopao. Also, the place is kinda small but comfortable, an authentic resto feel as this was their first branch. 😉👌

The original branch of Ling Nam in downtown Manila, still the place to dine if you wanna experience one of the oldest tsinoy noodle house in the country. The branch that I grew up eating noodles with.I love the nostalgic feel of this particular place especially the tables and chairs even some of the servers were already there for decades.Had the Wanton Beef Mein Hofan Noodles ,nice old school snappy noodles ,tasty broth ,super tender beef stew and great wanton. It brought a lot of memories while munching the noodles and slurping the soup which is a great experience for me.Ling Nam Alonzo branch is still the best for me.

Many people, including myself, come here for one thing alone: their mami. My favorite is the beef asado wanton mami, which is a combination of their three most popular ingredients in one yummy, delicious bowl of happiness. This place always takes me back to me childhood. Back in the 80’s there used to be a Ling Nam in Greenhills (I believe it was in Shoppesville) and I would always go for their beef mami. It was the best thing in the world when I was a kid, but I do remember my grandpa and my parents saying the best one is still in the original branch in Sta Cruz. Of course for me back then that felt like a foreign country I would never step foot in. Now that I’m older I finally realized the truth in their claims. This original Ling Nam is now the only Ling Nam worth visiting. Their other branches aren’t as good anymore (yes, even the one in nearby Chinatown Lucky Mall). Part of it is the ambience. You feel like you’ve stepped into a time machine into a Sta Cruz of a different area. Even the signage hasn’t changed in decades. It’s somewhat dirty and run down but that’s what I love about this place. It has an atmosphere that is slowly disappearing in a gentrified Manila of malls and condos. Don’t change, Ling Nam!
