One of the best places to get dumplings in Binondo. You can see this place makes their dumplings on the spot. The vegetable dumpling is a must! Their chili oil is mind blowing (for some reason) and what's really great is that the dumplings are also available frozen! This place is kinda hidden, just use your waze or website to locate it.

Kuchay dumpling. (Chives pork dumpling)Just average dumplings. Nothing special here. Don't get why this is popular.

I am not sure but their dumpling is overrated. The dumpling is fully stuffed which is good but the texture because of the wrapper seems oversteamed. The soy dip tastes sweet and salty, thus feels weird for me. Plus, the place is not really appetizing.

4 stars for the great dumplings made and cooked fresh. When we went in there was only 1 customer although none of the staff greeted us despite making dumplings fresh on the tables literally facing the door. So yeah, customer service here isn't great, not even good. The staff seems unfriendly. The restaurant wasn't clean at all, even if it wasn't packed or busy they don't clean up the place right away which bothered me because the tables are sticky and the sauces seem messy also. When we were about to pay, one of the ladies was too busy in the back (maybe cleaning) and just told us to leave it on the table, a bit rude, and there was no "Thank you" when we left out the door like we weren't there at all.The dumplings are delicious though, just like in the many positive reviews. Dong Bei needs to improve work ethic and cleanliness.

It's been a while since I had a solo food trip and the first location that I wanted to go to was Binondo. I searched for the best place to eat and Dong Bei was one of the highly recommended restaurant. Just a summary... I finished the whole thing in 5 minutes! 😂😂😂

food was amazing but it took almost 20mins for it to be served, because the staff are busy chatting with each other

Dong bei dumplings has been in binondo for so long and alot of people are craving for it. Probably it is not the typical dumpling that most are fond of. Their kuchay dumpling is okay and their xiaolongbao tastes so-so. i personally dont like it but good for foodtrip just to try.

Dumplings - 14 pcs for 200Php. Worth it! Very delicious 😋 They steam the freshly made ones when you order take out. Place is quite small, only limited tables. I think there were only 5 tables available. Didn't get to try out their other food because we were running out of time.No CR and they don't clean up customer's mess / dishes right away. They just leave them open for everyone to see. One staff was actually a bit rude. Maybe she was already tired but she should have talked to us better. Will probably go back but still for take out only.

Dong Bei's freshly made pork kuchay dumplings are really hard to resist -- you just can't find something like these in Chinatown. What's so special about their dumplings is that they always have the right amount of fillings: the pork and kuchay are well-mixed, making for a flavorful combination. And the wrapper, it's also a winner to me with its texture and consistency that is not as starchy or thin as some commercialized dumplings out there. What's totally underrated in the menu, however, and one that I would consider the star of the show is their fried sugar pancake. It's just amazing how a simple pancake can be as flavorful as this one. And also for P150, you get 7 pancakes already.I also love how welcoming and approachable the staffers here. They even allowed me to stay for a bit to observe how they do their dumplings. So, yes, I'd definitely recommend my friends to give this dumsum house a try. Will come back soon.
