Not the best place to be having vietnamese cuisine. Such a waste of space in my tummy. The shrimp is not fresh and tasted very off. The service is good though so it kind of compensated for the not so yummy food. The zao chicken is not as good as I remebered. Overall, would not come back any time soon.

Very disappointing! We ate here for lunch and it took forever for our appetizers and main dishes to arrive. Service was very very slow. How can it take more than 30 minutes for just appetizers alone and another 30 for the main dishes?? I had to return my dish coz it had hair then next was my daughter’s dish was wrong. For a bill of 4k it is not worth paying for. Food did not taste authentic vietnamese and lacks so much flavor. We are not coming back here!

I only know few vietnamese restaurants here and zao is a better alterntive. Zao offers an extensive selection of food and beverage which is a plus factor for me. So far i like their bbq and pho. Suggest that if you are craving for vietnamese, zao can be a good choice.

Yes, the Pomelo Salad rocks. I like most the non-sticky dressing, i just wish i have their recipe to make that :PTry their crispy lapu-lapu too, first time to eat fish with green mango as sidings.

The appetizer sampler is really good, very tasty and delicious. The sampler already has some spring rolls, pork and chicken satay and sugar cane shrimps (shrimp balls that has a sugar cane stick in the middle of it, kinda like a lollipop). The sauces were delicious as well. Also a must try is their Vietnamese coffee.

My order at any Vietnamese resto is incomplete without fresh spring rolls! So we got fresh rolls (Php 225), Meatball Pho (Php 245), Chicken in Claypot (Php 265), FireCracker Prawns (Php 395) and a Zao Shake (Php 175). The rolls were average, the pho was yum and good for sharing. Also liked the chicken in claypot. Rest was just ok. Overall, service was prompt, average pricing and taste hence not motivated for a second visit! :(

If you're craving for an authentic Vietnamese cuisine and you're in Shangrila, you might want to try Zao. I wasn't able to taste the food that I ordered on my first attempt because of fever, but on my second attempt, I understand why this place is crowded during lunch or dinner. Food is very good and it is more affordable compared to other Vietnamese restaurants.

Hubby and I were looking for a restaurant that serves healthy food options and we’re so glad we chanced upon Zao because they not serve healthy AND delicious dishes! :)We had a hard time deciding what to get because their menu items all looked so good. Haha :) Finally, we ordered the following -1. Water spinach with tofu (PhP 215) - hubby said it was really flavorful, unlike typical veggie dishes which are mostly bland.2. Caramelized garlic prawns (PhP 395) - now this is the superstar! It was sooo freakin’ good! :) The prawns were fresh and not overcooked, and the caramelized garlic was just too awesome. Definitely a must-try!3. Garlic rice (PhP 85) - quite expensive but pretty decent, too4. Bowl of broth (PhP 75) - we wanted a pho but we thought what we ordered was heavy already so we tried their broth instead. For just PhP 75, you get a big bowl of rich, flavorful broth that’s a perfect start (or finish) for your meal. 5. Zao shake (PhP 175) - don’t remember the various tropical fruits put into it but it was okService could be improved, though. Staff should be more helpful and be happy to answer the diners’ questions. For instance, when I asked what their bestsellers are, the waiter lazily answered, “kung ano po yung may red marks diyan (pointing to the menu)”. 😏
