For a while I've been wondering why these cakes are pricey. More often than not, I am less than pleased with the taste of expensive food that comes in small portions. This one is ni exception. For the price of 99pesos for a mini 'cheese' cake, this one is no better than the simple mamon of Goldilocks and Red Ribbon which costs almost a fraction of the price. Although maybe, the ingredients and franchise are really that expensive since they only pay for the labor and store space (yep, no dining space as this cake/bread shop). The texture is like a soft chiffon cake with a thin layer of japanese cheese (which I can't taste). There. I can't say anything more since I just bought a mini cheesecake. Perhaps I'll try one of their other stuff. If i have tge moolah, and the guts to try it again.

    > Signature Cheese Tart for 400Php, Mini for 49PhpThis was surprisingly good. The crust was flaky, the cheese filling was smooth. Though it lacked a sharp cheese flavor, it wasn't bland. This wasn't too sweet but what I really liked was how the crust held up even after putting the tart inside the ref, consuming it hours after. It was still a little flaky and it was not soggy.

We ordered mini cheesecake, and it was so fluffy and it melts in your mouth with every bite!!! It was already cold when we ate the cheesecake but it still yummy and tasty. 😊

Bought their main product, cheesecake in the form of mini cheese tarts (so I can eat them while walking), Apple Cinnamon Rolls, and the Cheesecake Toast. I can eat a large bag of the Cheesecake Toast, it’s so good, I thought the container was full but they put a tissue paper at the bottom to make it look like there’s a lot. The Cinnamon Rolls are best eaten when they are warmed or reheated. I’m not sure if they can do that but I hope they can voluntarily offer it for the Rolls if the customer will eat it there, it will definitely make a huge difference :). I bet it would have been delightful but I ate it cold. The cheese tarts, true to its Japanese authenticity, were light. If I bought the regular size I’m pretty sure I would have eaten the whole lot while walking and I would still be craving for it. That’s because the sizes are just a tad smallish :)

I just came back from Tokyo and realized I wasn’t able to have some Japanese Cheesecake. Then I chanced upon Uncle Tetsu in Megamall while doing some errands and of course I had to have some. I tried it years back but somehow forgot about it (and how good it was). I enjoyed it before and still enjoyed it now. It was really delicious. And it was really a plus that they came in cute solo sizes (and packed neatly in its own small box 👍🏼👍🏼). Japanese cheesecakes are light and fluffy and not too sweet - no need to go to Japan just for this because this was just that, perfect. Also read the description on the box and if the claims are true, bravo: it says less salt, not too sweet, high in protein, rich in vitamins, no preservatives, low in calories (!!!) etc.Price point is perfect too that’s why rating is 5! Solo size is only ₱109, and regular is ₱300+. The next potluck or birthday, I’m definitely bringing this! Fits the budget and everyone will surely like it.

I'm not really that familiar with Japanese cakes, but I am a pastry lover.Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake was just meh for me. It was indeed tasty, but was just...okay. I think I should've tried other stuffs on their menu, like the tarts and cake rolls before giving my full judgement, so I'm rating this at least 3.5, for benefit of doubt.

Had their mini cheesecake. 99 pesos. It's a small cake good for 1 person. It's airy, moist, light and barely sweet. If you don't like sweet cakes, then you'll love this cheesecake.

Continuing my reviews backlog... sorry for the late late post!It was almost eight months ago when I was invited to a Looloo "rendezvoos" (food meet-up, in other words) and it was my first time to ever have been in a double "rendezvoos": first at Papa John's Pizza, and then to Uncle Tetsu Cheese Cake both inside SM Megamall.Since Uncle Tetsu is basically a shop, there was no seating available so we went to the food court instead. From "Papa", we went to "Uncle" (for sweets), hehehe.Uncle Tetsu's marketing team, Mr. Charles and Ms. Mitzy, were generous enough not just on providing us with free treats but also with the story behind the creation of Uncle Tetsu. What we tried:🔸Original Japanese Cheesecake - fluffy, "cloudy." If you're not a fan of sweets, this cheesecake might do wonders to you as it is sugar-free. But for me, I'll defeat the "no sugar" purpose by partnering it with a cup of nice hot chocolate.🔸Signature Cheese Tart - one of the best I've tried at Uncle Tetsu.  It's funny because only about a couple of weeks before this rendezvoos I said to myself that I did not want to try other cheese tarts after having had a so-so first cheese tart experience at Kumori (despite the matcha flavor). But I had to find out much later at Uncle Tetsus Cheese Cake, that not all cheese tarts are made the same.It turned out, I liked Uncle Tetsu's cheese tarts a helluva lot. It was creamy and had the right amount of sweetness, and unlike Kumori's, the crust of Uncle Tetsu's cheese tarts was more stable. Mas tumatak pa to sakin kaysa sa cheese cake.🔸Mini Cheese Tart with Oreo - I loved this! You'll get the Oreo filling which gives some level of sweetness to this cheese tart.🔸Pastry Puff - typical puff pastry with a sweet filling🔸Cinnamon roll - Flaky, but too hard to the bite. I still prefer the softer version of the cinnamon roll.🔸Japanese Cheese Cake Roll - I liked this. I thought it would be more enjoyable if it's nicely chilled. It is also available in chocolate flavor.Thank you, Uncle Tetsu for giving us a chance to taste your cheesecakes and other baked goodies!
