We went to Maisen, SM Megamall branch last night. We utilized my metrodeal vouchers and I could say that 5 is the best rating I could give them. Starting from the ambiance to the crew and the food everything was perfect. Service crew were very accommodating and friendly. Ambiance is nice and lighting looks perfect in pictures (lol). We ordered Loin Katsu (one that has fat) and Tenderloin Katsu (one that doesn't have fat). Waiting time was tolerable for the food to be cooked. Miso soup is very good. Crunchy cabbage fits well with the sauce. Katsu has this tender taste. I love how it tastes fresh even if we came in around 9:30pm and Maisen is about to close. Lastly, I truly admire how they wanted us to maximize the usage of our voucher since I think we have an excess of 120php. (I've been using metrodeal vouchers, and other restaurants doesnt even care if you have a remaining amount that was not utilized.)

The food is too oily, the serving is not ok compared to other competitors. Chicken katsu is not even worth the price plus the waiters seems like do not want to refill for the rice, cabbage and fruits. They even serve a cold tea that was supposed to be a hot tea before the meal. Not worth the money at all.

First time tried maisen tonkatsu since they had promo with metrodealUsually I ate at yabu to satisfy my katsu curry needs hahaThe katsu is surprisingly tender insideCurry is good but not greatPlus point : their condiment yellow mustard wasabi tastelike is goodAbsolutely will comeback if they have promo again :)

What a great way to enjoy this rainy season with @cinnabonphilippines breads and pastries and a cup of hot coffee. @cinnabonphillipines makes my day sweeter by the variety of cinnabon breads offered which are all so yummy and make me want to share these goodness to my friends and family.Katsumabushi Set and Mixed Katsu Set.Maisen ambiance in Megamall was relaxing. There was an ample space for the guests and they have a couch. We always choose the couch area where we can sit comfortably. Me and my friend ordered Katsumabushi Set and Mixed Set. The Katsabushi Set has different ways on how to enjoy and eat the dish, you just have to read it from the menu. For the Mixed Katsu Set they have unli rice, soup and vegetable which would make every tummy oh so full. The employees were courteous and were able to attend to our needs.

Sad to say, this Japanese inspired restaurant did not meet my expectation. From service, to food up to their staff... everything is below the standard of customer service..1. They will hand a menu table in which some of the menu were not available (atleast inform the customer from the beginning)2. Staffs are not welcoming nor attentive. 4x I repeated my request for utensils but still they give me a wrong utensil.3. I just tried metrodeal voucher...to my surprise, the customer will be the one who will write the voucher code. A first time encounter in which the customer will write the code on their given form...4. We received a wrong billing! Good thing, I am a kind of customer who review my orders. Pity to the staff if ever I pay a wrong billing unintentionally.5. Backroom and restroom cleanliness.Never I will return back to Maisen.

I ordered the Buta Don set. It was delicious! The rice was perfectly cooked. I liked the sauce, too. Some people might find it sweet but I think it made the dish tasty. I gave it 4 stars because I didn't like waiting too long for my bill. If you're in a hurry, I suggest asking for the bill from the time you ordered because it would take quite a while for the waiter to hand it to you. That was the only downside, though. No worries, the food and the ambiance are worth it. 👍

We just celebrated my brother’s birthday here just because he was craving for tonkatsu. I’ve heard that what MAISEN offers best is tonkatsu and they didn’t fail to amaze us with its rich taste. I personally love their curry tenderloin tonkatsu and the vegetable salad to complete the meal. Thanks for the unlimited salad dressing.

Once in a while, we’d like to try something a bit pricey, but hopefully of good quality. And one of the cuisines that we really love is Japanese, mainly katsu. On one of our visits to Megamall, we decided to try out Maisen on the 3rd floor. The hook that caught us was we got the VISA promo that shaves off 20% off your bill if it is at least P1,000.

It was my first time to visit Maisen at SM Megamall. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Ice water and hot tea were served right away just as we were going over the menu. Loin Katsu was juicy and crunchy. Cooked just right. Cabbage was really fresh and the roasted sesame was really good. Value for money. Will definitely come back soon.

Legit fave! This is a legit resto. I tried their tonkatsu at japan and bought the tonkatsu sauce cause it was delicious. Then when I got back from Japan saw that they have a store here and loved it. Too bad they closed the sm north branch.
