Tasty tucker has been on the side of HMR market for quite some time now. I've been wanting to try out their pies and luckily I was invited by website Philippines to their food tasting event and tasty tucker was one of its participants.  During our food tasting event in the Pioneer street market, I was able to try out their sausage roll pies and their wine. Will definitely come back to try out their other food menu. Get to taste how a pie and a sausage really taste like plus they are selling premium quality wines that you would surely enjoy.

I personally loved the taste of the food there- however, they have to look into quality control.  I specially loved the pies.  I would buy them even if they were so much more expensive than the leading aussie pie company.  First few batches- I had to hoard- today I had one though - the curry beef pie that seriously only contained 3 pea size beef pieces.  I counted!!! I couldn't believe it.  Please -- do not fall into that trap of cutting quality drastically for profits.  Hope that turns out to be a fluke.

Ordered a cup of coffee and milkshake. It took more than 30 mins for them to serve it. We already finished eating our pizzas and bread (thats supposedly to go with our coffee..) we had to follow it up and told us it will take another 2 minutes but unfortunately thats the time they will only start to do the milkshake.

Tasty tucker was one of the stalls that shined the most in Pioneer Street Market. Having achieved tenure in the venue, the resto already knows what they want for customers to experience something new. They came out with different kinds of pies and sausage rolls in an affordable price. The sausage rolls was yummy, ingredients doesn't feel cheap and the bread was like a perfectly bake crunchy croissant. The pie had generous amount of fillings and is good for family pasalubongs, office lunch or guilty pleasures. They have lots of options and flavors from minced pie of beef, chicken and pork variety to rolls. Will definitely come back until ive tried them all.

The night started off with some wine from Tasty Tucker Cafe. They were so generous to offer free-flowing (hint: UNLIMITED) wine for the entire event. It was crazyyyy! I just had a glass of their red wine though since I still had to drive home afterwards.Aside from the wines, Tasty Tucker also gave us mini pies to try. They're about half the size of their normal serving, which I greatly appreciated since having an entire pie (on top of all the other dishes we're trying) would just be too much. I especially enjoyed their Chicken Curry and Pepper Steak Pies.

The other day, we checked out Tasty Tucker Wholesome Cafe along Reliance / Pioneer in Mandaluyong. It is the restaurant / coffee shop that is located at HMR branches. TASTY TUCKER AT HMR. It is a very casual restaurant, with picnic-style tables. The owners are Filipino-Australian – so this really started out as a place to serve their favorite Aussie pies. To cater to the market, they also added food items that their customers wanted – and that’s how they ended up including a lot of Filipino food items on the menu.

More meat pies please!Product: I haven't been to many restaurants that serve Australian food so Tasty Tucker got my interest right away. They specialize in making these delicious meat pies that are just filled so much savory goodness, you can't have just one. Of course, they also serve other dishes and pastries. Their pastries are also worth the purchase. They have different flavors of meatpies (Regular: Php 150.00/Party Meat Pies Php 50-55.00): Steak & Mushroom, Spicy Beef, Mexican, Pepper Steak, Minced Beef, Chicken Curry, Steak & Bacon, Curry Steak, and Tuna Pimiento. Each flavor will be what you expect it to taste like. The party sizes are as big as an average palm and the regular ones are probably around 3-4 inches. They also have sausage rolls (Php 100.00): which don't taste like your regular sausage. It tasted kind of like a meatball but has a lighter taste. It's actually good even though it wasn't like anything we expected. They also offer Filipino/American/Italian cuisines. There's pizza, pasta, silog dishes, pansit, kare-kare, we also had ribs, buffalo wings, and burger. There's really a lot to choose from and they're all have a reasonable price. I loved the ribs, it was sweet and was very tasty up to the last bite. I didn't the Filipino dishes as much because I was preserving my appetite for the pastries and desserts. But I tasted their kare-kare which I think should be cooked together with the greens rather than cooking them separately so it has more flavor. The wings were tangy and sour in just the right amount for people who love wings to like them. The pastries, like I said is really worth your money. I totally loved the cheese muffin and the revel bar. The muffin was so tasty that you'd just end up realizing every single cheese bread you ever had was bland. The revel bar wasn't "nakakaumay" which makes it a perfect partner for a hot cup of coffee.Everyone went crazy for the cheesecakes. Especially the raspberry cheesecake. Another perfectly made dessert because it's also not nakakaumay. It was creamy and the cheese is just the right amount of salty and even the syrup doesn't have such a strong flavor. It just mixes really well together. Venue: Tasty Tucker is a restaurant/cafe located in HRM or near Pioneer St. Market. They all have the same owner. The interior looks like an Australian canteen which was their target. Very country theme-like. I didn't get to interact much with the staff besides the hello and goodbye greetings. The manager was there and she was the one who assisted us and even chatted with us. Thank goodness this place is near me because I'm getting me some of those meat pies and pastries again.

First time to try Lamington.  I am glad i tried the affordable version first.  This will help me in writing a comprehensive comparison between the affordable vs the upscale version (yes,  Bondi and Burke is next on my list) For those who dunno what a Lamington is...read onLamington is an Australian dessert or snack, typically made with squares of sponge cake coated in an outer layer of chocolate sauce and rolled in desiccated coconut.  The thin chocolate mixture is absorbed into the outside of the sponge cake and left to set, resulting in the cake's distinctive texture.  A common variation has a layer of cream or strawberry jam between two lamington halves. Lamingtons remain a popular snack across Australia and New Zealand, as well as other parts of the world, such as South Africa, and Cleveland in the United States. Lamingtons are common products at supermarkets, cafes and bakeries.Source: Wikipedia Back to Tasy Tucker's affordable Aussie cake.  The cake is not as moist as I want it to be.  But for php 49 a piece,  i aint complaining.  The dessicated coconut adds a fresh twist to the chocolate coated sponge cake.  This is best paired with coffee, perfect snack while reading your favourite book.

Well, it's not a place I'd recommend you go to when you're hungry. There's a single server and not a lot of customers but orders take so much time before served. The Spaghetti Meatballs was okay. Not something I'd crave for again. The Blueberry cheesecake is not moist and is lacking for the price. So, final verdict. Okay... but not going back here any time soon.
