After being dragged by the hyperbolized craze for ramen for the past three years, I thought I have tasted all ramen restaurants out there, from “wow” to “neh”, which left my wallet empty. So it was a delight to be given a chance to able to try Taisho Ramen and Teppanyaki House, which went under the radar during the Ramen boom season. With the vision to create a reputation of quality, low priced menu with consistency and security, Taisho Ramen broth and ingredients are freshly prepared daily in the restaurant, while the ramen noodles were specially made with own recipe specification. And boy do they deliver it! The broth of their ramen is so full of flavor from its slowly-simmered pork bones that you can taste and feel the goodness with ever sip of their thick, meaty flavor soup. And to maintain its authentic Fukuoka style flavor, most of their seasonings are sourced from Japan itself. So with their ramen costing about Php300 – Php355, it is a real value compare to some of the overrated expensive ramen place that has sprout out. Some of the ramen that we were able to try on Taisho:Tonkotsu Ramen - their original ramen dish a real comforting dish you will definitely enjoy. Would have been even better if there were more chasu meat as theirs were smaller compare to others. And while the egg is flavorful, the yolk I got is a bit runny when it should just be just wet, but this can be easily be improved and fixed by them. Miso Ramen – it has a subtle complex flavor that plays on your mouth that you would not get from other miso ramen. This may due to the fact they uses 3 types of miso for this dish (red, white and yellow). This is their best-seller ramen, which I’m not surprised.Takana Ramen – My favorite so far. Love how the Japanese pickled mustard greens created a more complex flavor to the tonkotsu soup when mixed in. Well maybe I’m also just biased as I am particularly fond of “kiamchay” (chinese for pickled mustard greens). But some might find this dish weird and get surprised with the tinge of bitterness of the pickled mustard.- Karamen – their spicy version of tonkotsu ramen dish. Even with its spiciness and redness of the soup, you can still taste the flavor of the soup. What’s more you can ask them to customize the spiciness of the soup according to your preference from mild, regular and very spicy. And what’s good about Taisho is that you can still customize your ramen to your perfection! Every table has seasoning set that you can add further taste to your ramen. They offer red ginger called Benishoga in Japan, there is also some fresh garlic or Niniku you can freshly crush, chili powder and chili oil for people who are into spicy adventure. Aside from their flagship product, we were lucky to able to sample some of their other dishes like. Gyoza – They cook their gyoza perfectly – crispy on the bottom but soft upper wrapper that maintains that juiciness of the meat inside. They offer not only pork but also beef gyoza.- Makis – I like the Rocky Roll, it’s a kani filled maki with a suprising spicy kick from its sauce that you don’t need to dip in soy sauce and wasabi. While Taisho Wafu has a colorful, appetizing appeal with the bright color of the sweet mango on top drizzled with strawberry sauce. It is just kind of sad that the chunk of chicken inside is so small that the sweetness of the sauce and fruit overpowered the savory-ness of the chicken. Or maybe if the rice surrounding the filling would be thinner, it would have helped the flavors to come out more.- Kani Wasabi Salad – While it is your typical salad you usually see in Japanese restaurants with its lettuce, crabstick, and mango, what I like about this dish is that they did not use the usual sweet Japanese mayo. They create their own dressing with wasabi in it. It is flavorful but not sweet with a feeling of freshness in the mouth. But they could still have put more wasabi in it so one can really experience its taste along with the greens.- Chahan – A very familiar, comforting this that you can’t go wrong. It has a lot of ingredients in it from chasu meat, veggies and egg. One order’s portion is a bit hefty. - Gyudon – The beef is flavorful and soft and perfect with the red ginger they put on top of it. One might not get used to its reddish color which is beef color we are not used to. Of course, it would have been better to have more beef in it for a more proportionate beef to rice ratio. - Chicken Teriyaki – I like their chicken teriyaki as it is not that sweet and the portion is big. But some find taste of teriyaki could be fuller.- Katsudon Curry – The breaded pork cuts are thick but a bit tough and the meat itself lacks flavor. It is highly depended on its breading and curry sauce for its flavor. But unfortunately, the curry sauce lacks the distinct taste of the Japanese curry, like it is somehow diluted, and is rather too thick and starchy.- Yakiramen – It’s their stir-fry noodle Yakisoba version but using ramen noodles that soba. I like the al dente of the noodle. And the sauce while super flavorful is rather overwhelming for my taste buds. All in all, Taish Ramen & Teppanyaki House has a good ambiance and cozy feel that is welcoming. Their ramen something I would love to go back for again and again without going overboard with my budget. Hopefully I can try the other ramen dishes they have.Thank you Taisho and website for the invite and being a gracious host. All food and drinks are complementary.

I haven't really tried a lot of ramen places, and since Taisho is just below the building where we live, me and my partner decided to have dinner here last minute.Ambiance: 3 out of 5Service: 3 out of 5Food: 4 our of 5Price: $$$We ordered Karamen Ramen and Ninniku Ramen. Both tasted good, but I liked the Ninniku more. Will defintely go back to try their other dishes.

I ate the kimuchi (kimchi) ramen and it was good. I find it better than ikkoryu Fukuoka ramen. I will definitely be back for the yummy broth and decent soft chashu.

I always pass by this restaurant and never really wanted to get in since I am not a fan of uncooked japanese dishes and ramen. Since this is one of the few restaurants within the area left for me to try, I decided to look at their menu and voila, i found out they're serving teppanyaki. I ordered their pork teppanyaki. Note that I was hungry when I entered the restaurant so I was really conscious of the preparation time. It took them more than 15 minutes to serve my order. I was a bit disappointed with the delay. Nevertheless, when I saw my food served hot and tempting, I was disappointed no more. The flavors are a perfect match for my mouth so I was really happy with my food. I'll come back some other time, definitely.

We were regulars here before just because of their set meals (ramen+karaage+chahan+iced tea) which was reasonably priced at 195 pesos. Good value for money but not necessarily yum. They have removed those and replaced with pricey sets. I have not returned since then as I don't think the food is worth the price point.Editing my review from 2 to 1 but this resto really deserves a ZERO. We tried to give it another chance a week ago since they have updated their menu to include bento meals which I think is reasonably priced. Fast forward to 45 mins after ordering, we followed up our order. Was told that it would still take them another 10mins to prepare our food since they only have one chef. They should ask customers if they’re willing to wait for an hour! But honestly, I think they forgot our orders and just won’t own up. I really really hope you close shop sooner than later. You’re a waste of space. Should be taken over by a better resto.

Tried out Taisho after visiting our unit at Light. We just wanted something light and warm before going our way. We shared the Hakata Chasyu Ramen, a kani salad and their Pork Teriyaki. The Chasyu Ramen wasn't really bad I just find expensive for its price, the ramen at Erra's was better and it didn't cost as much. Noodles were firm, but the serving was less than expected compared to other places. Their Kani Salad drowned in mayo and the Pork teriyaki which was the only saving grace that night could've looked better it was ugly. It tasted Ok but it looked like it came from a turo- turo. The pork slices was cooked in miso paste. Not going back here again. With so many dining options at Light we had to chose the wrong place. Oh well.

We Ordered:Miso Ramen = 325Ninniko Ramen = 330The restaurant is conveniently located near the mall entrance, with vibrant ambiance inside the restaurant, it can pass your average Japanese standards. Staff are very accommodating and pleasant, waiting time is just okay. I am satisfied with the taste though nothing is really special on it. Noodles are firm and fresh and it's soup is savory, toppings and spices worked well together. I find the serving a little bit less considering it's price. I might consider going to other popular noodle houses instead of Taisho Ramen because I think their prices are not reasonable enough with its serving.

It was first time visit to the place and happened to dine by 2pm so my sister and I decided to try 2 among their lunch time set. It took long before the food was served despite the limited diners during that time. We both loved our food thus still considering of coming back. However the service was really slow. You can hardly get the attention of the servers especially the female server who wouldn't even confirm or nod if she gets what you are asking for. The male server is a bit better. There is also someone from the kitchen who would ring a bell whenever we called for the servers cause nobody's noticing us. I hope they can give an excellent customer service to match the quality of the food they serve. For me, customer service is a very huge factor for coming back to a certain place.

Went here this month. One word to describe the experience? HORRIBLE. While we were waiing for our cousins to join us for dinner, we asked for 2 glasses of water and it took them 20 minutes to serve it. The food was okay but the size of the serving was like a serving for fastfood. Its too expensive. May di pa kaming maexplain na amoy coming from the table. As in mabaho. Will never come back.

Went here to try their Ramen. Place wasn't pack, but I wasn't attended immediately. Ordered Chashu Ramen, and a side of Gyoza.1st up, Chashu Ramen. The broth itself is heavy. It's as if the scumm from the pork wasn't removed while they were making it. IT NEEDS MORE NOODLES! A pack of instant Ramen has more noodles compared to their Ramen. Then there's the Chashu pork. They were generous with giving me 4 thick slices, but it's too fatty. The only way to go around the heaviness of the broth is if you dab a bit of hot oil on the broth. Gyoza.Toasted.on the outside, and moist inside. It was good, but could be better if they weren't stingy with the meat filling. Goes best with the sour sauce.Verdict.I wouldn't go back to this place. It's a pricey bowl of Ramen that doesn't have the sulit factor. I've been to other Ramen place. Yes, there are other places where a bowl that would cause more than Taisho, but it's worth every peso. If you want to try Ramen for the first time, don't go to this place. If you're looking for Ramen to satisfy your craving for a bowl, this is not the place.Btw, the soft boiled egg doesn't come with the Chashu ramen. You'llneed to pay 45 pesos extra.
