First time I stepped at SM Light. Compact and dimly-lit mall with big named food establishments like Shakey’s where our website group was invited to by the Quorn (its a meat-free alternative made with Mycoprotein derived from naturally occurring fungus through the process of fermentation) Team.We were asked to sample the two menu items using Quorn: Hickory Quorn Pops, meat-free nuggets and the Cheesy Chick’n Pizzza made of Quorn Chicken Fillet. I say that it was normal to feel a bit hesitant to taste a relatively new product substituting for a well-loved comfort food like chicken nuggets and pizza.Well, both passed the websites' taste.I, a chicken addict, couldn’t actually tell the difference. If ever there was, it was minute. Negligible. It was in the texture I had a bit of a problem with. The chicken Quorn was just too smooth that it was like eating cubed mashed potato.But still, I enjoyed the experience. Shakey’s service was attentive to our needs and they know what Quorn is.

Vegans, Vegetarians and Flexitarians rejoice! More meat-free offerings are sprouting from restaurant menus, catering to your eating lifestyle and at the same time, piques the interest of any adventurous tongue.Still having a hard time unearthing these “green” dining places, don’t fret because website’s got you covered - oh yeah! By way of a “food crawl”, we scoured Kapitolyo, Pasig in search of restos that serve tasty, visually pleasing and down right healthy viands using Quorn™️ products and we Rounded up the family for some food and fun at Shakey’s and have ‘em try out the Cheesy Chick’n Pizza and the Hickory Pops (185PHP). Preferred to have the hand-tossed version for the pizza ‘coz the faux chicken chunks complemented the thickness of the crust. As for the hickory pops, they use Quorn™️ rendition of chicken nuggets and bathing it w/ ketchup was a delight!

Being a vegetarian is becoming a trend nowadays. Some of the reasons why people are interested in practicing it include health, religion, environmentalism, and sometimes just their own ethics as factors. Here in the Philippines, there are several restaurants that offer vegetarian-friendly dishes but little did I know that Shakey's also has their own take for this type of diet.

Definitely a new fave of mine: Shakey's Cheesy Chicken Quorn Pizza! Topped with onions, bell peppers, Quorn meat, drizzled with some cheese sauce-- ughh heaven!! (Sorry, Pizza Bianca and Scallop Primo but I have a new lover in town) Also, don't forget to try their hickory pops! (But I'd want rice with that, though *sorry for being such a carbo loader*)

So we tried out the newest flavor of Shakeys w/c is the CaliKani Pizza. A fusion of East and West food flavors, it boasts of Kani and Nori strips, Fish roe, Peaches, topped of with the Sesame dressing. Imagine all of that in a pizza and it surprisingly works. It brings a new flavor to the fray, breaking the tradition of the usual pie. You have to try it until supply lasts.

What could be a good way to beat traffic and the rain? It's Shakey's newest CaliKani, one of their premium all-time favorite thin-crust pizza, and was not disappointed. Never thought Japanese salad dressing would go so well with pizzas! This had a fair share of Kani, cucumber with nori strips and roe drizzled with sesame dressing. Along side with these new pizza, you should not miss partnering it with their traditional favorites like chicken and mojos. Plus some carbonara and Blueberry Yogurt Bliss with it!

I love Asian foods, after all, I'm an Asian! Japanese food is one of my favorites. (Yes dami kong favorites!) And of course, I love pizzas!Shakeys introduced its newest pizza flavor - the Cali Kani Pizza! Coined from California Maki turned into pizza! Can you imagine? This is when East meets West!This seafood pizza is loaded with Kani, Nori strips, Peaches, Fish Roe and drizzle with roasted sesame dressing.Shakeys has introduced its newest pizza flavor - the Cali Kani Pizza! Coined from California Maki turned into pizza! Can you imagine?I have to be honest that Shakeys is not one of my go-to places for pizza. I've tagged their pizzas as "pwede na". (This is just my personal opinion. Shakeys fans, wag po magalit! hehe)This Cali Kani Pizza seemed to be interesting, something new in the market!Here are the opinions of #teamfoodtrailph.Dough was good.Amount of toppings is just enough except that we think it lacks cheese. So if you're a cheese-lover, you might find this lacking. :(Tastes like Kani (of course). Not too salty which is good as this is our common comment on some of Shakeys foods.Final thought ... we loved the Pizza with Scallops over this one.

Small place. They always have reservations especially during weekends. The same Shakey's wherever in the Metro in terms of customer service and food. Howevrr, we still get their loyalty card so the BOGO pizza made it all worth it!
