Sebastian's is one of the front runners for artisan ice cream in the Metro.  Ian Carandang is a churning genius. I got to try Leche Flan con Mangga a couple of days back.  And yes,  it is exquisite.  Leche flan is on the too sweet side for me and i was glad that the ice cream is not.  No 'Umay Factor" the mango adds the  refreshing-summery element and it goes well with the leche flan. The mangga at suman is mediocre,  Manila Creamery is still king when it comes the the kakanin inspired frozen treat.  Flavor and consistency is on point,  i prefer MC because of the suman bits.  This little mishap didn't deter us from finishing the cup.Sebastian's is still the go-to-place for artisan ice cream.  Albeit the arrival of international brands and local brands,  Sebastian's still has a stronghold in terms of taste,  quality and innovation.

The Green Mango Sorbet was calling to me louder and louder as I got closer to The Podium. After a bit of a stroll—ok, don’t judge, I was Pokemon hunting—around the area, in a bit of a humid day, I had to have something cold. As soon as I saw The Podium, I immediately thought of Sebastian’s.When at Sebastian’s I don’t really think of what I will order. 90% of the time, I order the Green Mango Sorbet with Bagoong, and no, I am not pregnant. Lol! 10% of the time, I order Champorado Ice Cream with Dilis. This time around though, it was a little different.I knew for sure I wanted to have the Green Mango, but I was torn on my toppings. The other option that they have besides bagoong is Thai Nam Prik. Nam Prik is from Thailand and consists of a spicy mix of salt and sugar. That’s how Thai people have their green mango, as well as having their own version of bagoong. Us Filipinos over the past years are starting to enjoy our version of Nam Prik more and more. I have noticed more and more vendors sell it. And with the sorbet, it completely is a foodgasm out of this world. So what did I pick? Well, I had both. No, I didn’t have two scoops of the sorbet, one with bagoong the other nam prik. I only had one. The server was nice enough to put both toppings at no extra charge. Of course I paid the bagoong one since that’s cheaper than the nam prik. I believe the bagoong one is P140. Nam prik p120. So I got the nam prik free technically and I was like such a happy kid at the candy store. I seriously was so torn between the two that I probably looked like a sad kid, a big kid. So when the nice lady offered both, I was clapping my hands with the widest smile on my face. Lol!And having both toppings was a double wow. I felt like I went around the moon twice as I enjoyed my sweet treat. Now I am thinking… if I order the champorado next time, perhaps I should try it with a bit of bagoong, and not just the dilis. Too weird?

I've always loved their flavors from champorado with dilis to green mango with bagoong. :) But this time, I tried a more normal ice cream flavor which is butter pecan and it was REALLY good. ❤️😋🍦 Sorry, no photos.

After another tummy-filling lunch with my teammates, we decided to cap it off with dessert. We were talking about weird flavored desserts over lunch, so we went for Sebastian's--which is again a place I haven't tried yet but have heard so much about. Sebastian's stall was located in an unassuming part of the Podium, that I didn't realize there was a branch there when I feel like I've explored every corner of said mall. Upon arriving, I got excited to see that there were a lot of flavors to choose from, but the Champorado with Dilis variant immediately caught my attention. Very intriguing. The experience will for sure either be memorable or quite disgusting 😬I requested for a free taste and it was an entertaining experience. The staff scooped a bit of the ice cream, turned her back for a while, and handed over the sample with a tiny dilis on top of it. I hesitated for a while, but was sold, upon tasting it. It was almost exactly like waking up to a rainy morning, and having a bowl of champorado with dilis bits for breakfast. Only this was frozen and was supposed to be dessert. Really unusual, but definitely worked for me!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼Hence, I ordered said flavor, alongside another scoop of Peanut Butter Cup, and I loved every bite! Will definitely be back to try the other flavors-- green mango with bagoong, sapin sapin, and salted egg flavored ice cream sound lovely 😍

Creative indeed.Sebastian's Ice Cream boasts of its unique and wide array of ice cream flavors and I'm sure everyone agrees with me that it's quite surprising to see sapin-sapin, champorado and bagoong ice cream laid right before your eyes (heard of it before but still quite nice to finally see it)Sadly, we decided to play it a little too safe and just ordered two samplers and a single scoop of cookie dough. We were able to try the lemon meringue, dark choco and butter pecan.Everything tasted really good, as expected. It's a tie between butter pecan and cookie dough for me. Will definitely go back to Podium for the sapin-sapin ice cream.
