I am not a Ramen person but my balikbayan cousins were lured by the promo of Ramen Nagi Podium... P600 (plus service charge) for 2 bowls of Ramen. The promo must be really effective as there were still people waiting for a table at 830pm on a weeknight. My sister and I shared a Butao King. Since it was our first time here we decided to encircle Normal for most of the options except for the Noodles. We eat slowly so we figured we'd get hard noodles and they'd eventually become softer. Our order was good but not great enough to make us fall in love with Ramen. I love how my cousin's Butao King tasted different. She requested for less oil and more garlic. It made a significant difference.I wasn't brave enough to sample my cousin's Black King. The color turned me off. Both cousins enjoyed their Ramen orders. We also shared a Pork Katsu Roll. The cheese was the come on. We were quite disappointed at how it tasted. It left a weird after taste in my mouth. I didn't want to finish the dish. The place was full, most probably because of the promo. The servers were preoccupied but moved quickly. We had to follow up on some things though and the bill took a while.Overall, I was more impressed with the feel of the place, the look of the menu and the fact that you had to place your order by encircling items with an old school highlighter. *visited last August 2016

I asked my companion what Nagi meant, he said it means calm (at sea). Inside the Podium mall, in between UCC and Borough, this restaurant sits calmly (yes, I wanted to use it) as it waits for a wave of Ortigas denizens who are craving for a Ramen meal. For most of my Japanese friends they said that the taste comes really close to what they have in Japan. Ramen can be as low as 390 and could amp up to 410. Although my Japanese friends were surprised that they served the Nori in sheets and that they're not cut into tinier pieces. Also the staff accent sounds a bit off when they try to greet the guests. Overall, service and food was great. The photos show the Original King Butao, and my new favorite Ramen with parmesan cheese - Green King, Midori. 😊
