Food was average. Place was noisy because of adults shouting and celebrating a birthday “inuman”Bulalo doesn’t have a wow factor and other dishes are bland.

You dont have travel all the way to Tagaytay just to experience legit Bulalo and tawilis! Not recommended for rushing diners. But when the food is served! You’ll know it was worth the wait!

Ordered Bulalo and Tawilis and man, it was so satisfying! The tawilis is soh crunchy that I ate even the fins and bones and bulalo's broth is so good! Although the ambience isn't really for family gatherings bec there were drunk men when we got there but they didn't make a scene whatsoever. They're just drunk and talking drunk and walking drunk. Haha. We went here at 11PM on a weekday. I'd definitely come back esp on a rainy evening! And please take note that they only have 2 parking slots. 4 if you'd want to park along the road which we did. It's safe as the guard looked over our car - I'm just not sure if parking on the road is allowed at daytime though.

This is my go to place for bulalo. Yes parking slot is so so hard to find but the yummy bulalo is worth it! The price is so affordable plus the location is conveniently at Mandaluyong. Perfect resto for tag ulan.

Will definitely comeback because of their Bulalo! If you're like me looking for a classic and original taste of a bulalo, I highly recommend this resto/resto bar!

I've been missing out!Product: R&J Bulalohan is an establishment in Mandaluyong older than I am. Even respected artists used to eat here. One of the main reasons why people do is because their bulalo is much better than some restaurants in Tagaytay itself. Why bother going the long way when there's a great place in town? Another reason is, it's so affordable here. You don't need to go to a fancy restaurant to satisfy your hunger. Now, I'm born and raised here in Mandaluyong and I live about 5 minutes from R&J AND I once lived about a kilometer away from here but this is the first time I ate here. Shame on me because I've been missing out. Let's start with their Fried Tawilis (Php 85.00): a plate of fried and crispy tawilis for just 85 pesos is a great deal. It's bigger than I expected and it's just the perfect amount of salty and savory. You'll want your cup of rice right away.We ordered some of their Binalots (Php 70.00) so we could have some additional food with our bulalo. It came with half a salted egg and a cup of rice. I had their Sisig Binalot, it wasn't crispy or grounded but it was still good. It still tasted like sisig and it's actually better than some I've had in fancier restaurants. However, don't expect a lot from that price, you should still order other dishes if you have a big appetite.Special Bulalo (Php 369.00): I know you already know why it's special but I'll say it anyway. It's because it has bone marrow. It's already mixed with the soup so you can't have a large portion of it. However, maybe you can request for a big piece instead if they'll allow it. The meat wasn't too tough, it's a little chewy but manageable. I loved the soup as it is but it gets better when mixed with some calamansi and soy sauce. The whole serving is good enough for about 3-4 people depending on your order.Venue: R&J Bulalohan is located near the Boni Circle, just beside Petron or Dunkin Donuts. It's just a simple carinderia but it's huge and can accommodate probably 80 guests, which is good because during peak hours, the place is loaded. If you're coming with a big party, expect to wait for a table. A lot of people also drink here during night time and there's a karaoke on-site so you can sing if you want to. The ambiance of the place makes you forget you're in the city, it's like you're dining at an eatery in the province. And now that I've paid them a visit, I'll know I'll be back every now and then.

We went here and ordered Bulalo and Tawilis and Mangga with Bagoong. The bulalo soup is yummy and the beef is soft. 👍🏻It is a perfect pair with the tawilis and rice.

This place is your “no fuzz no frills”, “pare i’m drunk, let’s get something warm to eat”, or “it’s raining really hard, i want some comfort food” place. We always order the special bulalo and tawilis here. Downside - it is a struggle to find a parking spot in the area. When it rains, the surrounding streets get flooded. So just have them deliver the bulalo on your rainy evenings.

This is a lutong bahay cravings place. Bulalo is good. Although I taste magic sarap seasoning in most of their vegetable which my tummy does not approve. Pancit canton is so salty, experienced it more than once. Their staff is sometimes not accommodating which I don't mind when the place is so crowded especially on payout mornings and dinner time. Expect also that people are using the videook on those days. Sunday lunch hour is also crowded because people from the church drop by after. Just if you want to avoid those days.

It was randomThis happened way back 2017 but up until now I can still remember how it was. A hot afternoon, me and my friends were hungry. They suggested that we eat at some fast food joint near our house, but I disagreed because that's what we've been eating for a while and that is u healthy. I persuaded them that we eat somewhere that serves real food, a carinderia or whatever. But because we've had bad experiences with the nearby carinderias, hence the fastfood streak, one of them said "Gusto nyo Bulalo?". Remember it was a scalding afternoon but we all said yes. Totally random.Long story short we ate here, I got surprised because of all the signatures on posted all over, turns out this place is famous for its taste that beats some restaurants in Tagaytay. It was perfect, the taste was great, we were full. If it wasn't for the long waiting time this review would probably be higher.
