New Bombay at the Podium might be its best location in terms of parking space, seating capacity and crowd. Easy parking always at the Podium, there are enough seats and you don't get claustrophobic.Things I often order... the Samosas (deep fried pastries stuffed with meat, potatoes and peas)... Tandoori Chicken (chicken marinated in yoghurt and garam masala)..... Palak Paneer (Cottage cheese cubes with creamed spinach).... Chicken TIkka Masala.. and Mutton Curry (sheep meat in curry sauce).

I used to eat at New Bombay regularly back when I was still working in Makati. It has been a few years since I last a meal at New Bombay.Today, I had late lunch at New Bombay at the Podium. I ordered my usual: Chicken Biryani. The long grain rice was really good, but the chicken was very dry and the dish lacked the heat and spice.

My favorite Indian place to date. I’ve been to this branch many times. I even go there to eat alone or have them deliver to my home. Photo is Spinach Rice with Chicken Biryani. Approximately 3 cups of rice, I get to finish it in one go. I also prefer ordering their Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Tandoori. Must orders also include their Lentils selection.

This place offers good Indian food at a very reasonable price. No frills no fancy manifestations just good (not great though) straight up Indian food. The quality of the food is consistent across the dishes may it be their massala, tandoori or their rogan josh. The rich flavors of the Indian sub continent permeates your palate and leaves you satisfied.

Chicken Tikka Masala - My choice of dish for the night paired with Cheese Naan. Masala is a mix of spices. There’s no particular recipe for it. They generally call any mix as Masala. This dish had tender pieces of boneless chicken that were grilled in a thick tomato based sauce with an exotic masala. It was topped off with grated cheese. The sauce had a strong smell of spices and when you taste it, it will wake up your senses. It’s silky and smooth and creamy. I opted to get a mildly spicy version so that it wouldn’t be pain for the hubby but I would say that a really spicy one would be the top choice. Also loved the notes of cilantro in this dish.Mutton Curry - This was husband’s choice of dish which he also paired with Cheese Naan. Mutton is practically the meat of an adult sheep and the term refers to the meat only and not the living animal. This dish was made up of tender chunks of mutton in a thick tomato based sauce with onion gravy. It’s then topped off with more onions! We asked for a mildly spicy version again and I would say that I liked this dish more. Maybe it’s because of the meat. The meat was more flavorful and went well with the strong spices. Cheese Naan - The warm Naan with gooey cheese inside was the perfect pair for our dishes. It held the sauces well. Loved the bite and the chewiness of the naan and we even ordered some extra for take out!

The ideal Indian curry is perfectly coated in carefully concocted sauce with all its juices locked in, waiting to burst forth at first bite. New Bombay has this recipe down pat. Their Vegatable Jalfrezi is my favourite.  I've never had potatoes cooked to taste so meaty and tender. The outside was crispy and tangy. Honestly an amazing dish especially if you're trying to cut down on meat but want that meaty satisfaction.  It was well cooked, tender, and the curry was just the right level of spice and consistency (not too watery or thick). The Chicken Biryani was exceptional for the quality of the spices in it. Also, another personal favourite are the Samosas - perfectly flaky and crunchy on the outside but filled to the max on the inside. Really wanted to order more but we were pretty full already. Service was excellent. Will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes!

Please do NOT go here. This gives Indian food a bad name. Food is heavy and oily, not light and nice on the tummy as it should be. My husband and I have tried it more than once to give it a chance to redeem itself but both times we left sorely disappointed. The last time, they even served us expired drinks from India.

I really love Indian food, so the fact that New Bombay provides good, quality Indian dishes at an affordable price makes it one of my go-tos for a crave. I usually go for Chicken Tikka Masala, but all their Muttons, especially their Mutton Curry are steals at 265 pesos. The curry is spiced really well, is rich and not too spciy, and the Naans that go with it really complement the dish. I also love their Chicken Samosas. The chicken with all those exotic spices and chick peas are just the thing to tide a bad day. I would definitely order again via delivery.
