...mesa creatively fuses traditional homegrown cooking techniques with modern flair which results to a delightful and unique website experience! the servers are very attentive and friendly, and the setting is intimate yet light, worth visiting may it be for a family dine out or a date night #mesaphilippines

Does not really have that flair you expect from “moderne”. Porcelain ware may be “moderne”. But the food does not really innovate. We ordered the baked mussels with cheese, which at 320 pesos with just 10 tiny pieces of mussels is quite an expense at 32 pesos each. The mussels are tough and overcooked. We also ordered the noodles: palabok and pancit canton. The pancit tastes good but may be a bit too oily. Veggies may be a bit too raw. Palabok is good but be warned that it contains tofu which may not be for everyone.Overall an okay Filipino restaurant but not more. Competitors may have an edge as to flair, ehem *manam*. And some Filipino resto chain from the visayas really outshines this manila based resto, ehen *kuya j/hukad*.

What we had:Baked scallopsGarlic ChickenLiempoTalong SaladBagoong RiceWhat we liked:Aside from the fact that their food is affordable, their grilled liempo, served with a special sweet barbecue sauce is a real treat. The bagoong rice doesn't disappoint and goes well with their fried and grilled meat as well.

Brought our Singaporean colleague here for lunch and she enjoyed the dishes we ordered: grilled liempo, gising gising, shrimps and baby squid in olive oil. Service was slow and the airconditioning was weak, it was hot during lunch.

Poor customer service, unattentive staff. Serving of water takes forever. Though the food taste great.

We've been to Mesa several times already. Funny is that we seem to always order the same dishes. Like the Hito Flakes on Spoon. The catfish flakes are crispy and crunchy, the julienned mangoes adding a tartness and a little spice kick from the red chilli. Honestly, it's the only way I'd eat catfish. The Talong Salad is a slightly different (uspcale) take on the humble ensaladang talong, neat presentation, though, served in a martini glass. The Laing Two Ways is just that, taro leaves in coconut milk prepared in two different ways. One is slightly dry while the other has a small amount of coconut milk. I prefer the latter, particularly when eating with rice.It was here that I probably last savored a tilapia, with the boneless variant served with different sauces. I really cannot find fault in mostly anything deep fried and crispy golden brown so it's a no brainer that I would like this. But my favorite still is the Baby Squid in Olive Oil. I smile every time I remember the very first time we ordered this and the Princess had this frown on her young face then. She seemed a little mad and disgusted that I would consume anything that had the word baby in it. And when she saw the little squid tubes under those crispy garlic and swimming lifeless in olive oil. she nearly cried. True story. It took a lot of convincing, and dessert, for her to be okay.Speaking of desserts, we always liked the turon served with a side of ice cream. The leche flan was okay too, but nothing extraordinary. All in all, ambiance was good as well as the food, staff and service friendly. Good for family get togethers.

Got the tinapa rice, pork binagoongan, pomelo salad, baked scallops, sigarilyas, palabok. Some of the other dishes were not photographed since we ate them too quickly. The food was amazing, but the binagoongan might be too salty. Palabok was not that good too. Everything is very nice but serving size is quite small.

We ordered Hito flakes on spoon, Baked scallops with garlic butter, shrimp cake, Tawilis with manga on spoon, shrimp tofu salad, shrimp sauteed with salted egg, gising gising, crispy boneless pata, crispy leche flan, halo halo and buko shakeAll the foods were delicious. especially their shrimp with salted egg and halo halo with a hidden ice cream. Their Crispy pata is a little bit hard and the skin is not crispy Their service are good even they have a lot of guest they accommodate us very well

All are in filipino fusion, i like the crispy tilapia in different dips. Laing is so so the platter is well served. So far so good but the interior should be enhance is was not so apetizing anymore compare before place is gloomy and sad but the food are tasteful and well cooked

Food is good but the service leaves much to be desired. We asked for a table for two and it took them a while, despite having numerous vacant tables. We have already finished through the appetizers and our rice has yet to arrive.
