I love their buffet, I had the chance to eat here twice. I love their selection of soups, noodles and fried meat and seafood like the fried chicken and tempura! Unlimited samgyupsal was good, too. I enjoy eating at Matgalne, the place is nice, the service and of course the food.

The family loves eating here because we get to eat good food at reasonable prices. Their dishes are delicious and their meat for grilling are of good quality. We also love how generous they are with the side dishes. During the multiple times we've visited, their customer service was always good.

We celebrated my dad's bday here and the queue system that day was an utter disappointment. We waited for an hour, only to find out that we had to tell a staff to be written in their waiting. We informed the staff that we asked one of them when we arrived if we need to write our names and she didn't say yes. The group of customers who arrived after us backed us up that we got there ahead of them but the staff insisted that our group will be listed after them. They kept on pointing fingers who was responsible for the incident. Funny thing was, it happened a few minutes later to the group of foreigners behind us. No one was at the entrance so how the heck would first time customers know about their queue system.Sayang because the food was good (except for dak galbi which was 90% veggies, 10% chicken slices) but after that fiasco + 1.5 hours of waiting, not worth it for us to return here.

We've been here twice since we love Korean food, from the grilling of the food to the variety of unlimited side dishes. The Haemul Pajeon wasn't the best we've had but the serving size was pleasing. The Samgyeopsal was good and the veggie wraps were huge!Service was good despite the extra time needed for the trainees to learn the practices of the restaurant. They were generous with water refills and made the effort to smile a little.

The quality of the meat is really bad.. (very hard to chew) Pajeon doesn’t taste good too.. The servers aren’t really friendly.. I think this is the worst korean restaurant i’ve been to. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant.

My Favourite!Granted, it's not the cheapest KBBQ place, but they have such a good selection and even the cheap options are amazing! The Mandu-guk and Seafood Pajeon are winners in the cooked food category and even though they already have free egg banchan, their Gyeran-jim is so fluffy and umami! Servers are efficient, though sometimes it can take a while before your request gets to you, but it's not been an issue. The tables and floor can get a little slick, like all bbq places, so be careful! When we ordered a Pajeon to go, they even added all the types of banchan to go with it! That was a pleasant surprise since most restos won't even consider that na. Good for celebrating (call in advance for large parties) or just treating yo self!

Matgalne Korean Restaurant at the Shangrila-la mall opens in the old location of another Korean resto that closed down. I was hoping it would be the same as before but it falters in comparison.Their woo samyeop (beef belly) and galbisal (USDA rib fingers) needs seasoning or at least be paired with condiments like chili paste with lettuce to wrap it with to work well.If you are grilling your bbq on your table, you have to do it by yourself. The marinated meats tend to char easily. The Galbi Pork (Php425) is dry, not recommending this one. Get the LA Galbi (Php795), beef ribs with nice marbling.Other dishes are pretty good from their ojingeo bokkeum (squid and vegetables with chili and oyster sauce), kalbijim (short rib stew) and Beoseot bulgogi (beef sukiyaki style). All three I would highly recommend. The shrimp tempura is served over a big mound of crispy fried noodles that it looks off.The Soy Garlic Fried Chicken pales in comparison with other Korean fried chicken. It's batter fails in its attempt to be crispy and there's just way too many bony pieces.

This is an ok place to eat if you're craving for Korean food and you're within the vicinity. But for me there are other much better choices than this one.Food - 3.5/5The food was good and they have a lot of side dish that comes with it. But compared to other korean restaurants I've tried, their serving is incomplete. They didn't served any kind of soup, no scissors to cut with, no garlic included and the soy paste was not that well made.Service - 3.5/5Staff was the typical get your order and serve service.Venue - 3.5/5The setting is ok, open area within the mall. Smallest table are good for 4 pax so it's very spacious if it's just 2 of you eating. My only concern was that it didn't have any exhaust or ventilation for the smoke which for me is a typical necessity in this kind of restaurant.

This is the one and only place that fills my korean cravings!! I have been a fan of their ortigas branch (with unli kbbq) but now I find the whole unli thing and visit their shang branch. It seemed like they become really crowded on weekends, so probably going at off-peak hours would be better. I didn't have to wait at all and was attained by the waiter every now and then - we were there at 2pm ish recently.Generally, their food is great, with generous servings and various menus. Some menus have large portions like their meat, soup and appetizers. If youre sick of the whole unlimited craze, this branch is perfect! Not very noisy, nice ambience, perfect for business or family meetings.

Matgalne has been my favorite korean restaurant especially their buffet ortigas branch. This new Matgalne restaurant in Shanrgrila Mall offer good food as well. We enjoyed Samgyeopsal meal set with 10 side dishes especially my favorite egg roll and fish cake. My only suggestion is to have unlimited steamed rice for those set to match with other competitors. Im surely customers will like it. I hope you also offer hot soup for the customer like bone marrow soup just like the other.
