One of my mom’s go-to places on a Sunday is Lido Cocina Tsina because I think she likes Chinese food and there’s a lot of space for parking. The place is small and can accommodate around 15-20 people at a time. Since its glass walls are directly hit by sunlight, it made the place hot but the blinds and the aircon made it a little bearable. For our appetizers, we ordered Crispy Tofu and Wanton Soup. The crispy tofu lived up to its crispy name and the sauce was good-not too sweet, not too salty. It reminded me of mom’s homemade version. The mucho size of the wanton soup is more than enough for my mom, my sister and I. The taste was as expected-typical wanton soup.We got the following…Lumpiang Shanghai - I think this is one of their bestsellers but I don’t get why. Yes, it’s crunchy and all but it gave me that umay factor a few bites after. It’s also the kind of lumpiang shanghai I can’t eat on its own. I had to partner it with rice to make it taste good. For the serving, I hope they serve it on a bigger plate because another piece usually falls when you get one piece.Sizzling Drunken Lechon Macau - I’ve tried their Lechon Macau on a different occasion and I liked it. So we opted to try a new version of it so we got the sizzling version. Basically, the difference between the two dishes is the sauce. The sizzling one went with a not-too-sweet sauce and few vegetable sides. Despite being drowned in sauce, the crispiness of the lechon macau was preserved. This is actually a good alternative if you’ve had enough of the dry and oily lechon macau dishes.Yang Chow Rice - Their yang chow rice is just normal. It had bigger bits of meat and shrimp vs. other restaurants. I liked how it tasted but I got a little tired from chewing because of all the meat and veggie bits on it. Not sure if that’s completely a downside though.
