I have always loved unlimited eating especially katsu places. The restaurant seems quiet and this offers you peace in eating heavily. I always go out with a full stomach.

My experience was quite favorable especially with the ambience and quality of the food. I ordered the Creamy Spinach donburi which had a very flavorful topping which blended well with the fried pork. The coating was fried to perfection. The miso soup was the best I've tried so far out of many Japanese restaurants in Manila. The only downside I experienced was that the waitress did not explain the difference of the donburi I ordered VS the usual katsu set. I asked if the inclusions were EXACTLY the same as the katsu set (unli rice, pickles, miso soup and cabbage) and she said YES which I was why I ordered it. However when my katsu arrived, there was NO CABBAGE and the rice and miso soup was not unlimited. I would have called the server again but her shift was over so another waiter took her place.I think servers should be more knowledgeable about the menu, especially since this is a wel known establishment.

So so lang the Katsu — quite small and dry and ang sad niya. Parang hindi fresh. :( Tried this long time ago, parang naiba na the quality. Bumawi lang sa miso soup though. Yabu pa rin talaga. Quite disappointed this time.

Ate late lunch 3pm, and service was bad. 2 servers were sleeping on the table beside the cashier. Girl servers would avoid eye contact when we raised our hand. No one said thank you and goodbye. Only good server was the guy wearing a red bandana.🔸Potato salad - really good! Egg-y with bacon and fried onion🔸Garlic set - super garlic-y and yum🔸Black pepper -spicy and really good🔸Rice - really soft🔸Sauces - needs major improvement. Katsu sauce and salad sauce were too sweetFood was delicious overall, but service really needs improvement for the girl servers.

Had the chicken Katsu... I prefer the Katsu at Yabu, but this was decent. Spices were good in the chicken, the contrast was serviceable but could’ve been better. With chicken more than pork, it’s easier to get a nice crisp contrast verses pork with crisp outer outer breading and tender, juicy within. I felt the outer was a bit too oily, and not the crisp u can get with a chicken katsu, hence taking away a lil bit from a more distinct crunch or contrast. Chicken was somewhat moist inside, but could’ve been noticeably. more so,and the outer should’ve been crunchier and firmer imo. The miso was above average, , not memorable, but tasty enough to want more than a cup. It was as decent meal and not pricey due to serving size, that said I prefer overall the quality of Yabu in Rockwell and a couple other places. Maybe they had an off day, I expected a bit more with the rating. My current katsu diner experience. Rockwell Yabu > Rustans East Cafe Glorietta 4> Watami at Greenbelt> Yayoi> Kimukatsu >Watami >Cafe East (all4 @Shangrila Plaza). All were decent, Cafe east at Shang was on the lower end though dry, and bland.

Good food, great service! The staff were extremely accomodating. The ambience was okay, not too many people dine there (on both times I ate here).I used metrodeal vouchers and it was so worth it! But even without any discount, the food was worth it because of the unlimited cabbage, rice, miso soup, and sides (this applies to all the food in their menu except the lunch set promo and donburi orders).I'd recommend the Kimukatsu Tamago Don and also their Ebi Tempura - instead of the normal tempura sauce, they serve it with tartar sauce which tastes like potato salad. If you wanna try their Kimukatsu, I personally prefer the cheese kimukatsu. Their kimukatsu curry was average. They said that their bestseller is the Ebi Mayo and some reviews here say that they're great, but it's too sour for my taste. Their tatsuta-age was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, it's really good too. Their miso soup has become a new family fave because it's very tasty and has ample seaweed and some tofu.

Been wanting to try this resto for a while now because of their high-grade pork in mille-feuille style! Ordered the following:Plain katsu set- noticed that there was more fat in the meat plus thick breading :(Cheese katsu set- the cheese was too blandI guess I just had higher hopes for the taste and overall quality of the food

Servers are rude. We were placed to a very unfonfortable table without proper ventilation despite there are several tables available. We need to call them multiple times for them to serve us. I saw a server rolled his eyes after asking for a soup. We need to ask them to put some tofu In the miso soup. Another female server intentionally wet my shoes when pouring water to my glass. Shredded cabbage contains too much core, few leaves. I regret going to this restaurant.

I was pleasantly surprised by savory taste and texture of the spinach donburi. Sidings were ample enough.
