I've had Japanese curry in Japan with my Japanese website relative. To find the closest curry to that experience, I've tried all sorts of Japanese curry in Manila, including that supposed widest curry chain, but Izumi's is my favorite! Perfect balance of curry flavor, sweetness, and heat (add more if you wish). Free refills on curry sauce too. I had the beef yakiniku curry, and it was a pretty hefty portion of meat, with zero fatty parts, it was all lean. I also loved the sesame vinaigrette that came with the side salad. Just docking half a point because the place is cramped inside (although there's seating outside in the mall area) and this is the only branch, which is far from my place. :) This is the only place for me now if I need a Japanese curry fix.

As far as I am concerned, this place has the best curry in town. If you're big curry fan as I am, this place will serve you well.Servings are big and the curry is flavorful at just the right spiciness. Compared to the completely single-toned curry of Yabu, Izumi Curry's curry has more notes to it without tasting to Filipinized.The Grilled Chicken Curry is my favorite, but their Pork and Chicken Katsu Curries are also great. The Mega Beef Steak, though great, is not 100% to my liking as I don't really like Beef patties going with rice.

In my opinion their curry is the best I've tried. Try the megabeef dish with a burger patty and melted cheese on top of a bed of rice and splashed with curry sauce. If you want a lighter meal, opt for their beef yakiniku curry rice. Very delicious! A little pricey though

The hamburger curry I ordered was really good. The patty was tender, the rice was moist, and the curry was delightfully cheesy! My friend's pork tonkatsu, on the other hand, was a bit dry and lacked meat. I guess they also lacked the option for spiciness. Some people like their curry with a tinge of spiciness, but the dark curry itself is good.

I was craving for some authentic katsu curry when i stumbled on this restaurant last Thursday. The place was clean,organized, but small to serve big groups. They also have enough staff to cater to my needs. I already decided to order US Pork Katsu curry for 290php when the server handed me another menu showing their new promo. They have IZUMI MEALS. You may choose from 6 different setsSet 1: chicken/pork katsudonSet 2: gyodonSet 3: chicken teriyakiSet 4: chicken / pork katsu currySet 5: fish katsu currySet 6: vegetable katsu curry.These are served with miso soup and a glass of iced tea for 250 phpI asked the server whats the difference between this and the regular ones. She said that the serving of the rice in their promo is less than what they serve in their regular ones. So I easily decided to go and purchased their promo.They served the iced tea 3 minutes after they got my order. And the food came after 10 minutes. The katsu curry was presented properly. And the scrambled egg won my heart. It is perfectly cooked and tasted delicious.The thing that i like about their curry is that it is so flavorful. You can tell it has a rich taste and the balance of spicy of the curry and the sweetness of the vegetables used are there. The downside of it was it wasn't served hot. Only the katsu and the rice were hot. I was expecting a hot curry sauce :(Also, their katsu taste bland for me. It was cooked perfectly, but when i try it without curry, it really tasted bland. You really need to eat the katsu with some curry sauce to enjoy the meal.Overall, i would like to visit this restaurant again. I wont order katsu curry anymore hut i will be back to try their megabeef steak curry.
