Am I the only one who goes nuts over Hattendo (Japanese chilled cream buns)? I got to sample these buns for the first time during the #website Party at URBN. The buns looked good enough, tasted delicious as expected, very soft and fluffy. They made up for everything bad and it felt like all the stress was washed away as I got to savor this special treat. If you like custard then this bread is for you!Must-try flavors are the Azuki Bean, Custard, Whipped Cream, and Mango. I was told that the fillings were imported from Japan and that's probably the reason why it's a tad bit pricey. (Php118/bun) Go ahead and try them out if you are in the area!

The Japanese food invasion in Manila just keeps getting better and better with each addition everytime! Hattendo is spot on with their offering of chilled buns. These buns has a subtle sweetness to it that enables you to devour each flavor of its creamy and fluffy filling of goodness that leaves you wanting more! I love it! :)Price per piece Php 118.00Price for box of 6 Php500.00

While walking around SM Megamall, a lady holding a tray of a unique bread stopped us and offer us free sample. We just ate lunch so we're pretty full, but tried it anyway. We ate them while we walked, and then stopped when the the bun entered our mouths. We asked ourselves "what is this?" The bun is so soft and fluffy like an ensaymada and the milk is cool and creamy. We hurriedly went back to the stall to ask what it was. Well, they are Japanese chilled cream buns, and they have a lot of flavors: red bean (adzuki), mango, custard, whipped cream, and matcha. We had the whipped cream and it tasted like heaven. For Php118 a piece, it was really costly, but sometimes you have to indulge to something that tastes really good. And so we did. Oh, one of the reasons it is pricey is because the ingredients are imported from Japan. Michelle Chan Cortes | TFC

Had them for take out. We were eyeing for something new around *Greenhills and a lot of people were falling in line which caught my attention so, we decided to try it out too.Mom had Whipped Cream Bun while I had the Matcha Bun. The cashier/sales lady told us that it was imported from Japan and that everything was made there- from mixing, baking and packaging, which I guess, was reasonable for the P118 each/flavor.* Yep, you red it right! There's a new branch in Greenhills near Gloria Jeans Cafe and Turks, might wanna check them out when you visit :)

My cousins and I had a little food trip yesterday around Megamall... We after a snack, dinner and dessert #1, my cousin dragged us to this stall for dessert #2... Because you can't have too many desserts ever! It was my first time to try this treat... It's a bun filled with a custard filling... They have several flavors available, such as mango, custard, matcha, red bean, chestnut and chocolate... We chose the custard, red bean and matcha flavors, which we shared amongst the three of us...The bun was very soft, with a nice texture... The custard was light and airy... I liked the whipped cream and matcha flavors, I didn't quite appreciate the adzuki flavor... I thought the dessert was okay overall, but I don't think I'll be a return customer...

A stall in Mega Fashion Hall in Megamall. Cream buns tasted good but I find them pricey to be more than 100 bucks a piece. The server was quite snob though. 😅 really good packaging also.

I got their best sellers - custard and chocolate, then got the Matcha and Mango. I tried the Matcha first and thought that it was okay 😒 The bun was soft, melt in your mouth type BUT nothing was special about it. Comparable to local dinner rolls or those buns filled with savory or sweet treats in Bread Talk. Then the cream filling --- errr just okay too. The Matcha didn't have that signature lasang damo bitter but addicting taste to it. It was creamy and the serving was generous but didn't find anything special. Then the custard was okay, chocolate was okay too but the mango was standout. Maybe I'm just a sucker for mango with cream.Anyhow... I could safely say that I wouldn't get myself involved with Hattendo again. Why so expensive? Bundle of 4 small buns for 420Php! Maybe because they were baked in Japan and flown here? 😳

Other flavors are Azuki Beans, Mango, Matcha, Chocolate and Chestnut. 🍘 I only tried the Chilled Japanese Cream Buns with Whipped Cream ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 for P118.00 per piece, isn't a little bit pricey? 🤔🤑#ilovetoeat 😃❤️

This review is from the vault. I totally forgot to review this place, and i hope its quality has imporved since then.Just wanted to try it, so i got a custard-filled one. Nothing great. At 118 a piece, id rather spend my money on ice cream. Plus, iont think it's really as fresh and natural as they say it is. 😅

Tried the custard chilled bun and it was underwhelming. The bread was soft and easily melts in with the filling when eaten but nothing remarkable. The custard was not sweet which isn't what I'm used to... I mean, desserts are supposed to be a little sweet right? For P118 a pop, I find the buns not sulit (mainly coz it doesn't suit my palate haha).Kudos to the lady in the booth though, she was enthusiastic and accommodating even if it was past 8pm.
