So many bad reviews from Hap Chan last year that's why I never really got excited when someone invited me of eating here-- but boy, was I wrong!!!Last night, we celebrated the birthday of my bf's mom here-- with his fam, of course. It was said to be his mom's "favorite Chinese restaurant".For the mains, they ordered: Hap Chan Crispy Fried Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, Sauteed Beef with Broccoli, Fried Squid with Salt & Pepper, Mixed Meat Canton and Yang Chow Fried Rice.I first tried their yang chow paired with my all-time favorite beef with broccoli. I was curious enough to know how their sauteed beef would taste like but... It's so good!! My tastebuds are on fayah! Their yang chow is also delish and then I tried their fried squid (or calamares) and it tasted good also! Their pancit canton is just perfectly mixed with the right veggies, right amount of sauce and thickness of noodles which makes you want to drool for more. All of their dishes are Jonylle approved! 101%! Walang tapon! (ops sorry for the Tagalog phrase haha)And for the dessert, it's Butchi!!-- but a special kind of butchi since it's ube-filled and dem, it tasted heavenly. (Butchi lover here!) What a great way of finishing a meal!Their branch is quite small though, I think it can only accommodate 20-25 pax. Sorry also for judging so soon. Hap Chan is considered one of my fave Chinese restaurant's now!

Food tasted okay but I can't trust the hygiene of the place anymore after two incidents during our recent visit here:1) After I got a piece of hakaw from the container, my friend freaked out because she saw a dead baby cockroach inside the container. Good thing I haven't eaten the hakaw piece I got!2) Halfway through eating Beef with Broccoli, I saw that the piece of broccoli I was about to eat had a piece of hair stuck in its stem. We called the attention of their staff thrice and they only stared at us. No apology whatsoever.Won't be coming back to this branch ever! But don't get me wrong -- other branches might not be the same. I actually had a good experience in Hap Chan Kalayaan QC.

Service is okay and efficient. The Yang chow fried rice is my fave. It's good for 3 to 4 people. The salt and pepper spareribs are also good.

SWEET AND SOUR PORK ❤️ AND MANGO TAHOWhenever I crave for dimsum, this is the nearest decent chinese place I’d go to. I’ll order rice toppings (sweet and sour pork) and hakaw. Sometimes, I’d go for broccoli. Recently, tried their Sets A and B and was not disappointed. The squid salt and pepper was crunchy and seasoned well. The noodles was good. The sweet and sour pork is also on point. They did not have the buchi so they offered almond jelly or taho instead. I love their taho - plain and mango. THEY ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS BTW! You can ask for tea and complimentary soup Service 5/5Food 5/5Ambience 4/5

Their food can get quite salty though. Their ingredients doesn't seem to fresh sometimes. The waitress who is a lady is very professional but some guys seem to not care very much. We usually order hakaw and beef wonton noodles, beef with broccoli or yang chow fried rice.

Good enough Chinese place to go to when you live at the area. I always indulge myself with their wanton noodle soup, specially when I am sick. Good portion and you can ask for some extra soup. Other than that, I don't really remember how their food tastes like.

The food tasted great. The siomai is not like any other siomai. I have definitely tasted what makes it different from the regular siomai sold in the streets. The pork w/ century egg congee is also good. The fish fillet rice topping however is a different case. It tasted a bit salty and really relied on the sweet sauce to bring in the contrast. All in all, this is Chinese so expect to feel full faster than usual (because of all the flour and rice). Come in with an empty stomach.

Food was okay but I must say their congee had much fewer toppings than other branches’. I’m rating this place low because of the service. We waited for our food for quite a long time, considering that its just congee and century egg. What also irked me during our visit were the cooks in the kitchen that kept looking at us through the little window on the door; I sometimes would even meet their eyes which bothered me even more. But this is what takes the cake: we ordered almond jelly for dessert which came only after we followed up and long after we’ve finished our congee. They placed it on our table but after a few minutes, this waiter suddenly swooped in and took our almond jelly, only saying “Wait a minute” as he walked out of sight. We were so baffled! I asked my partner to just cancel the almond jelly because I was scared that they might have done something nasty with it. But after a few minutes, the almond jelly was served, by a waitress this time. We had to ask what they did with it before she told us that the lychee used in the previous jelly was spoilt. I guess its good that we haven’t eaten any of it yet and that they replaced it. But this branch, by far, have the worst customer service, if you could even consider it that. This was my first visit and definitely the last. I highly recommed you to pick a different resto if you’re in SM Light Mall. And to the management: I think it would do you good to replace the entire team or at least the restaurant manager. They clearly are not committed to their job, as you can see from other reviews.

Hap Chan has been the go-to Chinese Restaurant for most Filipinos, and we just don’t get why. Don’t get us wrong they’re not bad- bad, but they aren’t spectacular either. One Friday lunch break we decided to give it another go (see photos attached). Soup base lacks flavor- we ordered a beef noodle soup but it tasted more like a chicken noodle soup. Lacks that beefy punch. Steamed buns were okay -The stellar performer was the siomai. This will be the last time we’ll dine in any hap chan. Nonetheless, serves was good during our visit.
