The buffet seemed like a good idea when I read it from the different food blogs. But in reality, just go to cheaper unli bbq restos. The soup was watered down, the unlimited meat pieces were cut in unrecognizable shapes and sizes with no seasoning whatsoever. The dipping sauce couldn't even redeem the bbq. You're given 90min to eat here. This seems like a lot, but they first give you a meager amount of charcoal so you are only heating your meat right at the very center of the grill. The kimchi also didn't taste right. I would rank this 0 stars if possible

Food ordered:4x Eat-All-You-Can Php799/head-Chicken Karaage-French Fries-Caesar Salad-“Premium Meat” -harami tare, harami shio, brisket blend, brisket spicy miso, chicken teriyaki-Miso Soup, Wakame Egg Soup,-Veggies & buttered corn-Gyu Kaku Ice cream#JKExperience:Variety of Menu - 🥩🥩🥩Food Quality/Taste - 😍😍😍Price - 💰💰💰Staff - 💁‍♀️💁‍♀️💁‍♀️Ambience - 🏠🏠🏠🏠Overall Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️Our Experience: We have tried Gyu Kaku in Tokyo so we invited out our inlaws to try their branch here in Shangrila. Food is okay, but not as good as what we experienced in Japan. The meat were sliced into a very small/thin cuts. To be honest, there’s nothing special when it comes to the meat’s flavors. It’s so hard to call the attention of staff. They also tend to forget orders... my in-laws ordered two cups of rice and did a first (after 15mins) & second (around 40mins since they ordered) follow-up before they served the rice.Though the ambiance is great. Place is posh & quiet. But all in all, nothing is special with the eat-all-you-can menu. Maybe, i’ll try the ala carte menu next time.

The katsu was so chewy and tough, I wanted to throw it out if not for the 1-hour delivery time. Worst katsu I’ve ever tried. Not ordering again.

LOVED my experience in Gyu-Kaku! Great quality of all food, from vegetables to meats to dessert. The serving size is just right as not to overwhelm you. Great service as well, great ambiance, and good price point.A+ for having a smokeless grill, you wont smell after dining in! ;)

Knowing the original outlets in Japan, I was expecting a decent quality to be assured. Although, unfortunately the dining experience was quite off from my standards, to be honest.1. BBQ sauce for the grilled meats was overly sweet. 2. Chicken katsu garnished with vegetables you may never see on the authentic bowls had weirdly strong flavor of Mirin, and not crispy and all. 3. 60 pesos rice was not the sticky ones, just the ones you can also get at mini stop with just 12 pesos.. :(Service was okay, nothing to complain about. It’s all about food, I’d say this place has nothing much with authentic Japanese cuisine. Wondering if this place is really managed by Japanese. 50% off deal with eatigo has absorbed some of my disappointments, yet not much reason for me to comeback here even with further discounts.. sorry.

Pricey for the taste and serving size of the food so we ate here like twice only but if you want to splurge a little and eat yakiniku in Shangrila, this is the place. As for me, nope. I dont want to waste money.

Date of Dine: April 1, 2018Since I'm craving for some smoking hot item (literally) for a post birthday celebration, my partner and I decided to indulge for some Japanese Grilling! He wanted it to be a bit more expensive since it's a very special occasion. Tonight is Japanese Night! We ordered:Fried GyozaEdamameBeef Croquette Caesar SaladEnded up ordering Australian TenderloinKarubiIt was around 7:30pm and upon entering, we immediately requested a table for 2 persons. We were seated in an area where 6 pax can fit in. It's a good thing because we have all the space! It's a good start until the server handed us the menu and without any further moment informed us about the out-of-stock items in the menu (mostly are the things that I'm eyeing for). So, we spent another 15 minutes of browsing the menu to replace what's in our mind. Interior:I haven't been to their flagship restaurant in Japan but according to my partner (a pure japanese and grew up in Tokyo), the ambiance in of Gyu Kaku in Japan is more of a dimmed light restaurant. A place where office workers go and have some drinks together with their colleagues. He showed me the picture how was it in Japan and compared it how they built it here in the Philippines. I told him that Pinoys are more fond of a well-lighted place because they need to see all the details of the food, interiors, and all the things in the middle. The resto doesn't have a glass wall that terminates the restaurant area towards the mall's hallway. It's quite ok since this is a "grill-your-own" resto, no worries that you'll smell like a bbq after dining in (technically it's smokeless), and it's also a good idea to showcase the smell of the grill when you pass by the frontage and be mesmerized by the irresistible smell. Food:Gyoza is somewhat somehow ok, I tried comparing it how my partner used to cook it. Edamame is not refillable just like how the japanese do it. I now fully understand why it go so well with beer but unfortunately, they don't have beers on their menu. Beef Croquette could've been better. Their salad is just right for a single portion nothing special in it. The beef is so-so since half of their menu are not available. In all fairness, the beef were truly great, of course at this kind of restaurant where customers will be the one to cook for themselves, you can't really demand on the how your beef should be cooked and you can only blame yourself for doing it the wrong way. Service:With all of my past reviews, 50% of my ratings will be coming from this aspect. The server that took our order tends to be a bit arrogant. It's like a "Let me get your orders so I can go" thing! No connection and interaction at all (which is a great definition of a good service). They don't even roam around to check their customers and you need to beg for their attentions just to attend to your needs. I understand the shortcoming of the unavailability of some items in the menu but service should be the one to catch for this fall. It's such a pleasurable experience for me but, I'd rather go to another restaurant where I don't need to beg for their attention and will pay additional service charge at the end of your meal.

Ramen and gyoza - so sweet. Servers were attentive though, good service overall. Just improve on the taste of the food because the taste does not justify the price
